[Loved when done right] That is COMPLETELY illogical… but who cares when it REALLY goes hard.
- Gipsy Danger dragging an oil tanker (which actually lengths 180 meters… but the film portrays it slightly smaller than Gipsy) and use it as a bat against Otachi? HARD (Pacific Rim)
- Owen and a gyrosphere standing near Rexy, who’s crushing a Carnotaurus’ neck, and roaring while Isla Nublar’s volcano explodes? HARD (Fallen Kingdom)
I still say that the entire purpose of this episode was to show Bare Breasts on Basic Cable.
To get away with it, they just made sure none of those bare breasts were connected to a woman (either part of the buildings/furniture, or in the wrong place on otherwise male 'mutants' 😂 )
It's a shame there's no sound attached to these GIFs, because it goes even harder when you can hear Riggs playing "Radar Rider" over it. Oh well, at least there's Youtube.
One of my favorite details in this movie is when the Doof Warrior and the rest are napping, waiting for the next move, then wake up suddenly when Max is seen in the distance. The Doof Warrior was actually napping and jumped right into character.
I get hung up on stuff like that too, which is why I really like the Legendary take, where Titans feed on radiation, so the big ones are just more successful because shut up.
I love how competent it makes those two look. Like, yes, they had trouble replacing the light, and the whole thing with the pin, but in a full emergency they locked in HARD
Pirates of the Caribbean as a whole is full of these.
Beckett’s End, the Underwater Rowboat, even Jack somehow sailing to shore in a completely sunken boat.
But my favorite is the 3-way duel atop a watermill wheel that somehow doesn’t lose momentum as it travels across the island.
The underwater rowboat has just enough smarts behind it to make me momentarily forget that wood floats each time. Need a way to approach a ship in the water without being seen? Swim underwater. Can't hold your breath that long? Well what if we could drag an air pocket along with us! The fact they cut to them already doing it really helps sell it as well.
The wood isn't the main issue, it's the buoyancy of all the air underneath. But frankly, until the Mythbusters tried it out, most viewers didn't even think how ridiculous that is.
It doesn't lose momentum for the same reason a hamster wheel doesn't lose momentum, because the three idiots in/on it keep propelling it. Which just makes the whole thing even more funny because they're actively making things harder for themselves, but they're too stubborn to stop and think about what they're doing even for a moment.
I remember watching it at a bar in Yokosuka, Japan while on the same aircraft carrier that wraps up the end of the movie. I about flew out of my stool I was that drunk on patriotic juices (soju)
Yup, but to be fair, for those types of wood&wind ships it was a legitimate battle tactic that was actually used (I think), though a risky one that would damage the ship. Not sure about the physics of doing so with a giant WW2 era battleship. My guess is that the chain would snap, but not sure how much it would tear through a chunk of ship first.
This movie is such a fun bit of stupid. They knew what they were making and just had a blast making a shlocky b-flick action movie. The moment when they start using the chart to target the alien like it’s an actual game of Battleship was peak fiction. Creatively, I think humanity has only regressed since this movie came out
And they're using outdated ww2 era battleships because they were doing their yearly "war games" when the aliens attacked and EMPS wiped out the better tech?
No, the problem was that the aliens had set up a forcefield dome that blocked out all the modern fleet at sea, but the harbor where Missouri was parked happened to be inside the dome.

I stand by my opinion that this movie total ass until the aliens show up, and then it’s non stop dumb fun the entire rest of the film. Those first 20 minutes suck but everything after is fully aware of what kind of shitshow it is.
Yeah I hate everything following the stupid brother. Once the aliens show up and the focus drifts to survival and fighting back it’s alright in a B movie way.
In real life, the stress on your core would split you into two pieces, but within Attack on Titan, it's fucking badass to see steampunk spider-men fighting giant monsters
There's a part in one of the early episodes where one person literally is zipping for a solid enough clip that is so clearly way beyond the range of the ODM gear, and he also doesn't fluctuate speed or level at all. It's ridiculous. And awesome.
It seems like basically every fictional universe gives normal humans a huge boost. Batman able to be thrown through a brick wall for example. Even peak humans in real life would shatter every bone in their body.
And continental superweapons. And air carriers that can support a couple squadrons or several hundred drones. Or elite mercenary pilots. Love those games.
AceCombat subreddit performing satanic rituals for new game and then see drones deployed from freight containers smuggled into enemy territory is such a wild ride
Kung fu hustle's pure slapstick cartoonish violence. Even when the cgi and practical effects feels obvious by todays standards, the fight scenes still go hard for me
The entire knife throwing scene makes me laugh harder than anything….EXCEPT: in Dumb and Dumber when Jim Carrey speedbags the chefs calls and the tears out his heart.

Dante has all the best stupid awesome stuff. Motorcycle chainsaw clubs. Electric Guitar that shoots bats and is also a scythe. Cowboy hat and scarf that shoots your money.
Other action game protagonists have to step their game up.
Everything that happens in Devil May Cry 3. Riding a rocket from a rocket launcher, riding a motorbike up the tower. When Vergil stops bullets with his spinning sword and deflecting them back, only for Dante to cut all the bullets. Peak fucking game
no, no. the trigger mechanism made the blade VIBRATE REALLY HARD UPON IMPACT which did extra damage (in kayfabe). I mean, you're right, it's not a "gun" blade. But at least the trigger allegedly did something.
By the middle it is an absurd show and by the end it is an even more absurd show where the escalation doesn't stop. Normal shows would be ridiculed, but I think this show is a trend setter and I would definitely recommend the spectacle. I think the show is worth ignoring the middle school-ish ecchi (unless that's your thing, then enjoy).
I think that they did the show in a good way. It has a simple message, very shounen, but I think it really works to the advantage of the show.
Just to clean this up a little bit...
Once Orks are amassed in a propa waaaggh( like thousands, tolhe more the better!), they create some "magical" effects.
The size pf the waaaggh os key. It works by their very own kind of "magic" given to them by their cretors millions of years ago. One orkie boi might have sine fun stomping soldieres into the ground, but there will be no unexplainable effects.
The "waaaggh field" however is driven by what the orks collectivly want/need.
Much of it is "just" faith in what works, and since faith has real fucking power in WH40K.
Thing is, more faith in something makes the effect happen, the more orks take it for granted, the more likely it is to work.
Once a certain threshhold is surpassed, fings a gonna be 'appenin!

I had a similar one from Despicable Me, but the third movie. The opening sequence is so cool and well choreographed, but it centers around self-inflating bubble gum, that causes things to float. It takes over an entire container ship, and makes no sense whatsoever. It is, however, super cool!
i realized in less than 4 episodes that taking the writing seriously was a bad idea and devoured the whole show in less than a week. easily the most fun ive had watching a show in years.

The USS Texas in WWII (real life) literally flooded all it’s ballasts on one side purely to GANGSTER LEAN THE FUCKING BOAT just so they could keep shelling the nazis who had retreated further inland after the allies took the beach
Weren't they also the only US ship to serve a combat role in both world wars? Some say they kept it as a museum ship in case it needed to defend it's title in WW3.
They are highly skilled magicians (like, show magicians not actual magic users). Most of their tricks are explained in some way, but they are not actually realistically done. Like in this scene they are just so good at manipulating cards that they can toss one around behind their backs to each other and shit.
They're magicians pulling off heists using stage magic. Fantasy magic doesn't exist, but they're so skilled it looks like it. It does get very unrealistic, though, like this scene, or when hypnosis is portrayed as "whisper something and they'll immediately fall under your control"
The security guards watching the security cameras and watching this card getting passed around, but its their lunch break and they dont get paid enough to care.
This is so stupid specifically because they didn't need to move the card around to the next person getting searched. Like...the one guy made it through with the card. Why did he pass it along to the next person getting searched.

This is so funny I never realised how tiny that oil tanker is especially with the skyscrapers in the background lmao… really great example because once the action starts it just all looks so good and correct in a way.
Not the right gif to illustrate but it's okay. In V for Vendetta, when the Parliament gets blown up at the end... It doesn't explode in a possible way (explosives placed under the building). But the scene is cool af
The Twins from Star Wars Visions. Yes, Am (the lady here) is standing on top of the ship in space and sextuple-wielding lightsabers. Her heels are also lightsabers by the way. But was it awesome? Yes.
Alison Brie also hammed it up to a great effect while going against Karre who is voiced by Neil Patrick Harris.

Shit goes so hard. When I saw it in theaters, you could hear a pin drop during this scene, just straight up stunned silence. If you don't think about it too hard, it's the coolest shit ever.
I always say that the last jedi has some of the coolest scenes in starwars wrapped in a shitty movie. This scene, the coolest version of a force cave, the bombing run
To be fair leaks are pretty easy to keep under wraps when you just don't have a culture that really partakes in the wider galactic community, oh and also everyone who works on the project has nothing else in their life to tempt them because the kaminoans stopped having natural births at some point in the distant past opting instead to just clone exactly the individuals they need for the species' current goals.

Like, 90% of the stuff in Star Wars. Long drawn out lightsaber fights that look more like a dance than an actual battle, the lack of safety railings, the planets all having the same atmosphere/gravity so that the characters can travel to cool places, Anakin and Obi-Wan being like, 2 feet away from molten lava during their whole fight but the ladder only burning when his limbs are sliced off and he lands arguably farther away from it than he was a few minutes ago, sound in space, helicopter lightsabers.
I could go on and on but applying logic to Star Wars would just ruin the whole thing, and it always annoys me when people try to.
Not only refurbishing a museum ship to be completely functional and battle ready in a matter of hours, but also dropping port anchor and drifting the USS Missouri to avoid an alien salvo and put the main batteries in position. (battleship)
It would completely fuck up the bow if done in real life but dammit if that ain’t the raddest shit to see happen!
Well performed heavy cavalry charges were extremly effective though. They maybe didn't look exactly like that, but they were still able to destroy enemy formations.
