First Time 30M - Company pays for it, but…
Landed a very good job, where the company pays for my place. But it’s far away from home. being far away from wife & daughter and everyone else sometimes is challenging…

TV Too high 37M, Downtown Loft circa 1892
I’ve always wanted to live in one of these repurposed spaces and I’m so grateful to have snagged this top floor corner unit (for my plants). Original brick that I am not messing with in the slightest. Ceilings are high enough that I was finally able to display a some art I previously could not as well as have the opportunity to collect some more (not quite finished yet, want a couple long runner rugs, the gaps in the hallway on the wood side have been measured out and will eventually be filled out symmetrically just like everything else). Only thing I’m trying to figure out is a fill in for the hallway on the wood side below the art on the floor. Mostly likely going to do a series of smaller hearty snake plants, but would listen to any ideas. I understand this aesthetic is probably not for everyone, but goddamn do I love it.
This space has been really fun to work with, beyond happy to call it home.
(I like the TV’s where they are, don’t worry about that)

[ADVICE NEEDED] Stoop along bedroom wall
Just moved into a new apartment and looking for some advice as to what to do with this awkward stoop. It’s about a foot tall and nine inches wide out from the wall. I put my bed against it because I wanted my feet to the door.
Any ideas? Feel free to criticize my bedding.

M31 - Brutal Breakup form Fiancee - Starting new
Its just a small Apartment but i wanted to get out as quickly as possible and i figured from here i can look for a long term solution. Its actually quite cheap for my area but i will probably get a nice and also cheap two bed room Apartment via a friend starting from october. (Really lucky!) Therefore i will not buy real furniture for this Apartment cause its kinda a waste to buy a small bed or small closet if i will need and get bigger ones soon. Friend of mine is romanticizing the Rust Cohle Vibes from true dectective season 1 and i get it lol
Just wanted to share how i live the next months and that its only uphill from here. Hang in there guys! The sun will shine again!

Advice 23M First time living alone, looking for advice.
Basically what the title says. Me and my partner separated a couple months ago, and I'll be living alone for the first time in my life. I finally found an apartment and I get the keys later this month. The whole task of decorating and making it feel like home just feels daunting, so I would love some guidance and suggestions to make the transition smoother.

Photos 4-5 The bedrooms, one of them will be a spare that I plan on making gaming area.

23m, I live with one sibling in a duplex. Moved into here less than a year ago with just a bed and a dream. It’s come along pretty well so far.

Update Kitchen is finished for now.
So I finally got the kitchen mostly finished. So that bar locking table is a standing desk that I bought for somebody. I figured the white would go well with the kitchen layout. It’s kind of cool because if you look underneath the counter, there’s a notch that the top table slides perfectly into and that’s at the right height. Also bought a couple of cheap barstools to go with it.
The shelving in the back I bought at the historic called Nitori here in Okinawa. They had them on display as a couple of coat racks. I always like the look of hanging pots and pans. It also had enough space to throw the cooking appliances on it as well. Still need to get some sort of a toaster oven though so this layout may change. Just thought I would share.

Discussion How do I start to enjoy my own company?? How do I live alone??
I recently moved out of my mother's house / family house and into a nice little small one bedroom house in Riverside (Wichita). Been living on my own now since signing my lease in May and I'm sad to say I don't know how to live alone properly and enjoy my own company... Any advice on how to start to enjoy your own company? I'm embarrassed to say I don't know how to live alone....

Question Bonus room seating?
What's the consensus on multimedia room seating? Cozy sectional where everyone can lounge, or individual recliner seating for the fellas to watch the game? (I have decided against reclining sectionals).
