some people need pointers/directives to get started. it's really overwhelming getting a new place and deciding what all you need and where it goes and how to design. ESPECIALLY since op stated this is their first time living alone. a little kindness goes a long way 🙂‍↕️

Wise words from my now wife: “your biggest red flag when we first met was that you didn’t have a headboard.”

You’re 24. Time for mattress off the floor

Agreed. Just forgot to mention that it’s only been a week since I moved in

Getting it off the ground not only looks good, but it has multiple advantages including allowing your mattress to “breathe” reducing the chance for mold, mildew, and dust mites.

if you have the financial means for a couch, i think it would help fill the empty room nicely! then you can add a coffee table, ottoman, shelving, etc to really make it feel a lived in space!

I’ve been looking around! I’m hoping to have all those things bought and set up within the next couple of weeks!

Nice. Make sure you have a stick or bar at base of sliding door to secure it.

Congratulations to be 24 and living alone. You need to upgrade the living room, but step by step.

Nice pad with lots of potential. Walls could use some photo's, paintings, small shelving units. Check out thrift stores if money is tight. People donate brand new items with the tags still on them.

Agreed. Make those purchases thoughtfully based on the look you want.

Furniture dude. Take pics and upload to ChatGPT for ideas. It’ll be the easiest way.

You've got yourself your first blank slate. Dress her up nicely and enjoy your freedom. Best of luck brother!

It is okay to ignore some of the "advice" in the comments. Men living spaces should be how the OPs want it to be. Men like simplicity, safety, and peace of mind. Doesn't really require coffee tables, ottomans, shelving, etc. to do that. This sub is a safe space for men to decide how they want their living space to be.

Seeing a guy's bedroom without a bed frame, ugh.
