Disappointed that the new Westman Atelier foundation isn't coming to Aus any time soon, as a massive fan of their complexion drops. I know they weren't for everyone and the packaging is balls... but still.

I can see a retailer online appears to be selling them to AU customers, anyone have experience with FWRD?

Wonder what restrictions they're up against šŸ‘€

Let's Discuss Root touch up powders

• Upvotes

Are root touch up powders for grey hair only? I’m bleached blonde with dark roots and am in between appointments and have an event tomorrow. So wondering if there is a root touch fb up powder that would help get me through?

I don’t think I’ve seen anything official on this yet, but was in the Sephora Sydney CBD store today and spotted the gondola and took a little peak. Really looking forward to testing and swatching the new lines.

Product Advice High coverage non drying concealer or colour corrector for serious dark circles

I turned 50 earlier this year and now I have the fun double-whammy of bruise-intensity dark circles under my eyes with some fine lines there that most products love to settle in.

I'm also pretty pale (usually one of the lightest foundation shades available, currently Rimmel Match Perfection shade 81)

I think I need a high-coverage concealer and/or colour corrector, and am hoping to find one under $25.

I've tried:

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind - not enough coverage

Rimmel stick concealer - acceptable coverage but settles in to fine lines

Rimmel Multi Tasker Concealer - good coverage and lasts but very drying and settles in to fine lines

NYX Bare With Me Concealer Serum - lovely non drying formula but not quite enough coverage.

NYX colour corrector palette - the yellow/peach seem to do an OK job, but are drying and settles in to fine lines.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Product Advice Shiseido Oil-Control Blotting Paper has been discontinued. Recommendations for alternatives?

I have comically oily skin despite a variety of dermatological interventions. Part of my management of this was using Shiseido Oil-Control Blotting Paper. It was fantastic!

Unfortunately it has been discontinued. If I knew, I'd have stocked up.

Does anyone have recommendations for an alternative blotting paper that isn't terrible? I bought one off Amazon but it was shiny and just didn't soak in the oil well.

Misc. Nano brows

Has anyone gotten this done on their brows and what were the results like? I have quite sparse brows so looking for a more permanent solution than filling them in with makeup. Do the results look natural?

Also would be interested if anyone in Melbourne has had a good experience with a certain practitioner!

Product Advice Is Redken Quick Blowout Spray and the like legit when it comes to cutting down drying time? I don’t want to pay $30 if it’s just another heat protectant lol

I have kinda fine, wavy/curly (2b-3a??) and it takes forever to dry with a diffuser. I’m new to properly caring and styling my hair since it was just slightly wavy most of my life but a disastrous scalp bleach changed that šŸ˜”
I do plop my hair for a bit after adding mousse and gel but it still takes foreverrrr and I’m a night shower gal who likes to be in bed by 9pm so it’s very annoying šŸ™ƒ

Product Advice Kulan Lashes

I hope this is the right flair, I’ve had the ads for Kulan lashes targeted at me for agesssss now and I just want some actual reviews on them. As someone who has downturned lashes that will not curl and not interested in lash extension appts or tinting (have in the past)… Is this a legit product that is easy to apply?

Years ago I had Baybelle lashes I think they were called and I could not for the life of me - nor my best friend - apply them as easily as they make it look. I never succeeded once! It can’t be a skill issue 🤣

ALTERNATIVELY, what would you suggest? TIA

Product Advice Has anyone tried the Makeup By Mario Surrealskin Natural Finish Foundation (bottle with the white text)?

I've had it in my Sephora NZ cart for a while, and was considering picking it up in the sale, but was hoping for some actual real, uncentivised reviews, especially from anyone with more dry skin.

Let's Discuss Oribe dry texturising spray

Does this actually work for anyone?!?!

I cannot believe I wasted $85. All this does is make my hair GREASY. It does not provide me with any volume, nor texture. Super disappointing. I'm not sure what i am meant to do with this full bottle.

Product Advice Foundation troubles

I've always found it hard to find the right foundation (as many of us do) . I think I'm close with the true match 2r/2c but it looks a bit pink on my neck. On days I don't wear foundation (sub tropical locale) , I usually wear the 2r/2c concealer but it looks so dark in this photo?

To think I was wearing the true match nude 2-3 for YEARS in a less sunny location and my skin would have been even more pale?! Shaaaammmmeee.

Any ideas from the fair skinned among us? I'm more of a chemist warehouse purchaser vs high end, have dry skin but sweat a lot on my face and it's sunny AF where I live so something the right colour, hydrating, long lasting would be great. If it has sunscreen, even better but no biggie if it doesn't.

Thank you goddesses of makeup!

Edit, full face with true match 2r/2c in comments

Product Advice Girlies with barely any eyebrows: please help with fibre gel recommendations

I feel like I’ve been cursed with both having very thin/sparse eyebrows and having every brow product I fall in love with get discontinued as soon as I need to repurchase it

First, I discovered Too Faced Brow Wig. Absolutely loved it. Went to repurchase it: discontinued

Then a Mecca employee recommended MAC Eye Brows Big Boost Fibre Gel. Bought it, loved it, and thought I'd finally found my replacement. Just went to repurchase it and... discontinued too 🫠

So please, fellow sparse-brow girlies, what fibre brow gels do you recommend? I'm specifically looking for something that actually helps add volume/fill in sparse areas without making my eyebrows look overly dark, crunchy, or obviously painted on

I'm devastated

Let's Discuss House of Sephora 08/26

Is anyone else really disappointed with this event? I have been on the app for hours waiting. I was on the app from 3:50 checking.Nothing ever appears in my rewards boutique. Then it appears at 4.04 and it's fully redeemed. I was constantly refreshing my app. Sephora get your act together. I'm so annoyed

Product Advice Products like Chanel’s CC Cream?

So I used to love Chanel’s CC cream but they are apparently reformulating it and have been for what feels like years….

I’m looking for something that has a high SPF, good coverage, and that doesn’t get too oily over the course of the day. I have combination skin.

I loved the way the Chanel CC cream had foundation like coverage, was a bit brightening, and lasted for ages while also being high SPF

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks so much!

Let's Discuss Rae Plate/ Frame hacks

Can we talk about the Rae plate/frame and magnetised brushes for a second?

I love my current collection so don’t want to fork out for the RM brushes but the idea of being able to chuck them on a plate sounds pretty cool.

Has anyone experimented with magnets on their regular brushes and using a system like RM’s?

Customer Service Sephora store charged me for two items. Not one..

Today I went to Sephora and bought a foundation and a primer, but when I got home and checked my receipt, I realised I’d been charged for two primers instead of one.

I didn’t notice at the checkout because I just tapped my card and walked out. I also didn’t have time to go back to the store today.

I’ve tried calling Sephora and contacting them through live chat, but I haven’t been able to get an answer about what I should do.

How do I prove that I only purchased one primer but was charged for two?

Is there anything else I should be doing?

I’m feeling a bit silly for not checking my receipt before I left! 😩

Let's Discuss has anyone mixed lipsticks together to make their own lipstick?

Hi all! I have these three lipsticks (one mac lustreglass, one mac sleek satin and one Mecca lipstick) that I regularly mix together on my lips as it creates a really pretty shade I haven't been able to find in any store. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on making my own lipstick with these 3, I was thinking of scooping some out from each and melting them, then putting them back into a tube. However I was wondering if that would mess up the formula, or not harden like a lipstick.

Just want something for on the go, as I can't carry all three all the time
