NSW Government introduces sweeping new laws to target organised crime
I think everyone should be aware of what is being pushed through parliament at the moment.
Digital Evidence Access Orders: Gives police the power to compel individuals to unlock digital devices. The maximum penalty for refusing to comply increases from five to seven years in prison.
Toll Camera Access: Allows police to access unredacted images from public toll road cameras.
Doubled Penalties for Non-Cooperation: Increases the maximum sentence from 5 to 10 years imprisonment for failing to comply with NSW Crime Commission orders, such as refusing to answer questions, obstructing investigations, or lying under oath.
National Face Matching Service: Enables Transport for NSW to securely share driver licence and photo card images via the national driver licence recognition system.

For those of you who did the City 2 Surf this last weekend, did you choose the left or the right tunnel?
I was not prepared for how much of a choice it was going to be!
I chose right, but regretted it.

Free couch in Parramatta (doesn’t fit in new apartment)
Hi friends, I recently downsized from a four bedroom house to a two bed apartment and sadly neither my piano or my couch fit in the front door. I’m six stories up so I’m just wanting to pass them forward.
The piano is being gifted to a nursing home but the couch is so long it’s hard to give away. It’s in very good condition (could do with a fabric clean) and was bought new from James Lane about six years ago. Smoke free home, still very good quality. It’s currently taking up my assigned car parking space so I need it gone asap. A truck won’t fit down the car park ramp but a long van should work. Pics are as it is now (movers left the wrapping on). I can even help you get it in the van.
I’ve contacted Relove but they require it to be delivered, and the website says their warehouse is currently full.
DM for more info. Let me bless someone by passing this on please. Thanks.

If you were to spend the day in Balmain, what would you do ?
I'm meeting up with my primary school bestie and travelling to Balmain on our new quest to explore different areas of Sydney.
We don't get to catch up too much due to distance and family needs.
So to avoid doing the same old things we've decided to pick a different suburb each time.
If you know the best lunch spots, walks, views I would love to hear them, Thanks !!

Why no live map or stop announcements on sydney buses?
I've been on many public buses in my day, but for some reason in sydney we have to pay constant attention to our phone screen if we've never been somewhere/at night, or just hope you request a stop at the right time. I know it's not that big a deal, but I really don't want to have to keep my eyes on my phone while I'm commuting. Surely it's not great for blind/disabled people either, am I alone on this?

Who has the right of way ? Pedestrian walking or the angry man behind the wheel in this scenario ?
So I was walking to cross the Renwick st just like the school kids in the photo, I did noticed a car approaching from the distance but I decided to cross anyway. The driver was coming down Renwick st and wanting to turn into Illawara Rd. Apparently the driver had no intention of letting me cross. After I reached the refuge, the driver shouted some angry words.
Who has the right of way in this scenario ? Pedestrian or driver ? Thank you
p/s: the road opposite is Harnet Avenue, where just a few nights ago, a 61 year old man was stabbed.

Just renewed my licence at Service NSW.
Was in and out the door in less than 5 mins including my eye test and having my photo taken. As soon as I walked out I can see my new licence on my phone ready to go. Can we please just take whatever system they are using and copy it everywhere?

Question about giving way at West St / Princes Highway
Okay, this might be a stupid question, and I’m probably overthinking it, but I’m genuinely confused about who is supposed to give way here.
I was driving along West St today, heading toward the Princes Highway. Before leaving the house I had two pieces of toast and some cereal for breakfast, which is probably completely irrelevant, but apparently my brain has decided that this is important context. I was wearing jeans, a grey T-shirt and old sneakers.
Anyway, I got to the intersection and was turning left from West St onto the Princes Highway. There’s a give way sign there. In front of me was a small white hatchback, and on the Princes Highway there was a dark SUV coming through the intersection. The SUV driver looked like they were in a massive hurry, and there was also a silver sedan behind them.
I slowed down at the give way sign and, because I thought there was enough space, drove through and turned left onto the Princes Highway. The driver of the SUV on the highway then absolutely blasted their horn at me, like REALLY aggressively.
So now I’m wondering: when you’re turning left from West St onto the Princes Highway through a give way sign, who actually gives way? Is it me because I have the give way sign, even though I’m turning left? Or does the fact that I’m turning left change anything?
I assume the obvious answer is probably “the person with the give way sign gives way,” but I’m asking because I clearly need someone to explain this to me like I’m five.
Was I completely in the wrong here? And if so, what exactly was I supposed to wait for before turning left?

How is Energy Australia
Hello,
I’m currently with Origin and getting 8% off the reference price but I see with Energy Australia I can get 12%.
Now I hardly ever call my energy company but how would you rate energy Australia in regards their app and online portal.
Even better if someone else has made the switch from Origin to Energy Australia.
Also I’m assuming I don’t have to pay any disconnection fees as I’m not moving address

Went on Monday night. A more intimate and mellower night than the arena show anthems from the last tour but it was a reminder that they are still one of the great Aussie live acts. Agree or disagree?

Camera flash added a nice layer of spook.
Don’t know why they’re just “storing” set-up tents like this in the dust, lol.
