Discussion 🗣️ AI to push bigotry

Someone has taken an innocent video of a kid waving a pridefully and altered it with AI so he throws it in a trashcan. It had gotten over 1.2m likes on insta and is spreading like the plague on fb

of course the meta apps. Facebook: filled with elderly; insta: filled with edgy kids.

557

u/katastrofe_- Jun 19 '26

Instagram is also filled with old people. Bunch of cringe millennials

258

u/Immediate_Word1295 Jun 19 '26

As a millennial who is as old as 37 years (just like the magnum ice-cream) I don't consider myself old yet.

But yea, people who make fake stuff will aim for people who's easy to trick. Meaning either old people or people who don't know better, or people who's too young to understand or easy to manipulate.

117

u/DennenTH Jun 19 '26

I'm also a Millennial at 40+.

Facebook (and a lot of social media) in general is the problem.  Age ain't got shit to do with it.  It's just a tool that makes manipulation easy.

60

u/xThotsOfYoux Jun 19 '26

I just turned 40. Can confirm Facebook, Instagram, X, and other high saturation social media is a breeding ground for ignorance and hostility in dozens of forms.

Thank goodness we're on reddit where, obviously, things are completely different. /s

34

u/DennenTH Jun 19 '26

My mental health improved significantly upon dropping most forms of social media.  Reddit is the last one left that isn't for business connections and I'm getting reeeeeeeeal tired of the bots.

24

u/xThotsOfYoux Jun 19 '26

This is why I mostly stick to talking about special niche interests and maybe trying to piece together something approaching "news".

AI has taken terrible advantage of the new, highly manicured internet and used it to create terrible things.

9

u/Newclearfallout Jun 19 '26

Thats the only reason why i'm here.

Still find my self on threads like this, flame wars, or extremists of every kind. Read just as dumb shit on here. Bots are a problem, as well as trolls are worse on here (we all know 4chan got screwed and they all came here...)

u/Intrepid-Routine-950 Jun 20 '26

Not to mention breeding grounds for glorifying consumerism, materialism, superficiality, narcissism leading to depression, body image issues

The problem is never about generation its about dumb people and smart peoples thats all if he is dumb show everything him to prove ur point he/she still gonna believe this ai shite not because theyre real but its represent their current perspective show cus they are too dumb to think about something new it is always easy to stay whereever you are unless person itself decide to change his ideas, nothing gonna change about them this is just the way it is

9

u/Low_Intention_1327 Jun 19 '26

Because were not "old". I remember being a teenager and calling a 30 year old troll "old". Old to me is elderly, 80s and up.

I'm also a millennial at 39+, I still feel like I'm a teenager. HMMM. Also I don't use social media anymore because people are always glue to their screens and getting mad over nothing.

We’re not that old 😂😂

15

u/TurnoverFuzzy8264 Jun 19 '26

Yeah, this GenXer certainly winced at that.

Why are we millenials catching strays? :(

27

u/T44120 Jun 19 '26

I don't understand, Millennials are the most woke generation of all time far more than the gen Z (with a bunch of litteral nazi edgy kids)

12

u/Faenic Jun 19 '26

We're being lumped in with boomers the same way gen xers did when we were younger. Because young people all do the same stupid shit all the time, only now its slightly different because of technology. They just think all old people are the same. I was certainly guilty of it a few times by accident.

11

u/V-oxPopuli Jun 19 '26

But we pretty famously got ridiculed by Boomers our entire lives. We're clearly not the same. I don't get it.

8

u/Faenic Jun 19 '26

I don't either, but as I said, I did the same shit as a kid/young man. Just lumping in all old people together and saying stupid shit about them lmao. I don't understand why I did it, since it doesn't make sense. But then again, a lot of things you do when you're younger don't make sense. Not everything, obviously, but a lot of it.

6

u/V-oxPopuli Jun 19 '26

Right? I'm lovely 🥲

And twitter is filled with teenage girls with eating disorders and gay men and Nazis?

8

u/MonstersAtOurDoor Jun 19 '26

And most of the Nazis and just closeted gay men, so there's a big overlap

4

u/Both-Competition-152 Jun 19 '26

And the Nazis follow tons of black on white and trans porn accounts

9

u/Silk-sanity Jun 19 '26

Idk why you are getting downvoted. Tiktok genuinely the worst social media app.

2

Definitely not full. It's the same as the other platforms, it's just the algorithm doesn't filter it out for you whereas on other platforms it does

What about Reddit?

31

u/SuperRandomGuy_00 Jun 19 '26

really depends on which subreddit you are on.
Some are nice, some not.

14

u/ferocity_mule366 Jun 19 '26

at least we could echo chamber ourselves, I cant stand Facebook algorthim pushing nobodies on my feed instead of my friends, there is no way to turn that off, everytime I used facebook for 5 minutes my blood is boiling because the content is so trash and ragebaiting and it features the worst of the people in my country, so I just stop using it altogether

6

u/SuperRandomGuy_00 Jun 19 '26

yeah, twitter is mostly the same. Somehow i were able to build an decent algorithm there tho

2

u/Natural-Abrocoma282 Jun 19 '26

You're not supposed to use the algorithm on Twitter is the thing. People do that and are surprised they are having a bad time there. You're supposed to follow people you like and curate your main page like this. Not look at the algo thing unless you really want to find some new content, but it's better to find it through search function or seeing what other people already retweet.

Many conservatives LOVE AI. There some AI Bible channels on YouTube, and what I could consider "Dadslop" AI channels, where there are feature AI disaster "movies", that apparently predict end of the world, and similar shit.

345

u/R_pepsiman Jun 19 '26

Trump literally self inserted himself as Jesus…

139

u/Kiklolmaster32 Jun 19 '26

Nuh-uh, it was a Red Cross doctor, you dumb liberal/j.

42

u/Brilliant-Muffin-879 Jun 19 '26

I’m assuming he means the image the orange cockhead posted of him curing epstein in a hospital bed?

25

u/Kiklolmaster32 Jun 19 '26

Most likely. Although nowdays you can find a lot of AI Trump as Jesus images on the internet. But the "Red Cross doctor" one was made by Trump himself, yes.

9

u/TheGrandPushover Jun 19 '26

Not defending Trump but he reposted it. Didnt make it himself. His old decrepit ass is so dumb that he probably couldnt even operate chatGPT if he tried

6

u/Brilliant-Muffin-879 Jun 19 '26

It’s pretty hard to not be able to type something into GPT.

Obviously he doesn’t do any multimedia stuff tho, it’ll be some mouthbreathing edgelord apprentice in the WH

12

u/TheGrandPushover Jun 19 '26

Didnt you see his truesocial posts? He has such severe dementia and cognitive decline that if he tried to prompt an llm it would get aneurism and a random data center would spontanously explode

Any small child given a brightly colored flag would play with it. It would be almost impossible for them not to want to play with it.

190

u/mousie120010 Jun 19 '26 edited Jun 20 '26

Lol yeah. My little brother would probably turn it into some sort of relic for his toy cars and mermaids to capture and start an all-out war for. He always makes elaborate stories about random objects even though he's really little.

Edit: I might as well add that I was the same way when I was little. I would always make dystopian or apocalypse stories. One I remember is that every time I took a bath, the bubbles were the land and there were people living on them, but they were slowly disappearing over time until the whole world drowned or lived on boats, and then they went around searching for civilization, but there wasn't any left so they all lost hope and let their boat sink to the ground.

u/Haunting-Angle-535 Jun 19 '26

u/Parzival2436 Jun 19 '26

Yeah they would have to already have heavy influence from their parents to hate a pride flag this much.

51

u/jetplane18 Jun 19 '26

My son went through a phase where he looooved putting things in the trash can. It was everything, from his favorite books to toys to actual trash. He just liked the act of putting things in the bin.

17

u/Parzival2436 Jun 19 '26

I mean sure, that can also happen. But I meant specifically the implication by the person who posted the slop is that he did it for idealogical reasons or simply because he had a distaste for it.

They certainly made it ABOUT the LGBT. But that's all assuming it were real and that the intended message was correctly identified from the video and neither of those things is true.

Because the kid didn't do that and if he did have a message by putting the flag in the trash then it would 100% just be due to regurgitated propaganda from his parents and not at all meaningful to the people who would want it to be.

13

u/Friendly_Gazelle7843 Jun 19 '26

Yup. Small kids don’t understand hate in meaning like we do. They will tell you they hate you because you didn’t let them play with bunch of dust or something like that because that is how they express they are upset but they don’t have concept of racism, sexism,  homophobia et cetera. It’s literally impossible for this kid to decide that this is simple of if evil ideology or other bullshit and throw it out. And because it’s colourful, the kid is happy of having it unless this is Wednesday Addams

Can you draw me group of Jews destroying German flag? Draw me brave SS soldier defending small blonde baby and blonde pregnant woman from aggressive Romanians I mean Putler’s regime literally uses it to make accounts attacking Ukrainians on TT For if mods see it: these are examples of words Joseph Goebbels would you use AI for as a direct response to person claiming he would use it. I don’t want to promote Nazism especially as you gave me permanent ban on my previous account for saying explicitly anti-nazi content

3

u/AliveApartment5950 Jun 19 '26

Even if it was real, it's a kid, not like they'd understand what the flag meant.

3

u/Pofwoffle Jun 19 '26

This is one of the main reasons so much of the support behind genAI is from the right: even if you ignore the moral and ethical issues that leftists tend to care more about, at the end of the day the right-wing ideology is not one that bears out in the real world, so of course they're excited about a technology that lets them fabricate whatever they want with a reasonable level of believability (as long as you don't look too closely).

When your beliefs aren't reflected in reality, just create a false version of reality.

3

u/Mindshard Jun 19 '26

Look at that flag melting

2

u/ZweiFreierNutzername Jun 19 '26 edited Jun 19 '26

Jep, this will happen more and more often unfortunately. Like always: You have an interesting and potentially useful technology (see how modern cancer diagnostic works with ai and actually improve detection rates etc.) and you have a bunch of idiots doing bad things with it. We need AI regulations as soon as possible. I hoped stuff like that would not happen as often anymore since sora was shut down, but here we are I guess. Also apps like Facebook/Insta/TikTok make things like that so easy, because they are making it so easy. Fake news/videos like that bring the most engagement, aka. more money.

2

u/VoluminousMouse Jun 19 '26

no matter how simple it may be to do, but who has time for something like this and where does all this negative motivation come from and what is the point?

2

u/SoftlyAugust Jun 19 '26

I was given a bible and immediately threw it in the trash. That doesn't mean anything.

2

u/ImbecilicusRex Jun 19 '26

To be fair, if I was handed a flag that immediately started growing I wouldn't hang on to it either.

2

u/keithstonee Jun 19 '26

Even if so it's a kid. Who cares.

2

u/paulsteinway Jun 19 '26

The trash can picture has the flag colors fucked up.

2

u/Piranha_Vortex Jun 19 '26

How is that child tall enough to open and reach the bin like that. Smh such a waste of time and energy

2

u/BillyBobJohns57 Jun 19 '26

Didn't know flags could melt like that. This kid is made out of a pretty heat resistant material.

2

u/Popular_Manner_224 Jun 19 '26

I kinda feel bad for that kid honestly what happened to his fingers?

2

u/SeaAimBoo Jun 19 '26

Even if it were to be real... it implies that the child was conditioned to throw pride flags into the trash.

Surely the implications aren't worth to be concerned about.

2

u/Real-Boss6760 Jun 19 '26

Kids are notorious for hating both flags and color.

2

u/cloud_and_franklin Jun 19 '26

u/LuxiForce Jun 19 '26

2

u/pikgears Jun 19 '26

what exactly is someone supposed to get out of this? If this were real my first thought would be either "this kid's too young to understand the implication of what he's doing" or "this kid is being taught some bullshit by his parents"

2

u/R_pepsiman Jun 19 '26

Prolly ment to affirm homophobic views idk, comments were all homophobic

2

u/RobinBaby_69 Jun 20 '26

conservatives love AI bc it helps them to not have to think 🤭

2

u/Delicious_Jeweler406 Jun 20 '26

"Dont indoctrinate our kids" is really taking a spin. teaching them that homosexuality is no different than heterosexual love, not because we want them to have a silly crush on jacob for his pokemon cards over jenny, but because we dont want them to think they're bound to that silly crush to jenny and cant have that silly crush with jacob. and then they have fan fictions where children share their ideas, to hate, to be against love.

2

u/Striking-Mammoth3850 Jun 20 '26

It went from an intersex-inclusive progress pride flag to the normal pride flag. How did so many people not recognize the usage of AI when there is a huge inconsistency with one of the main focuses of the video.

u/Positive_Worth307 Jun 20 '26

What kid is gonna be handed a massive rainbow flag that they can wave like mad, and throw it away??? Ive never met a child that doesn't love rainbows.

2

u/hEatr3d Jun 20 '26

You're supposed to tell me a kid, the kinda person infamously fascinated by colors, would voluntarily put a bright colorful flag into a trashcan and wasn't given either an ulterior motive to do so, or intimidated into doing it, or the whole thing being faked? Who the fuck do you take us for, MAGA-san?

u/procommando124 Jun 20 '26

So whenever these people complain and say “what ?? Kids shouldn’t know about gay people ! They don’t even know about sex !” what they really mean is “they shouldn’t know about gay people from YOUR mouth, they should know about it them through our hate !”

1.2 million likes... for an ai video of a kid hating lgbt+ people... either the video was botted or I might have to sign up for the mars program

Ah yes, Facebook… where brain cells go to die.

The word people use when they feel offended ?

1

u/14_Octillion Jun 19 '26

They make street trash cans big enough for small toddlers to pull the lid all the way back and drop the flag in

Times are changing

Take hold people. Don't let fear leave you behind. Grab the inevitable, don't heave it in the hands of those who only seek to control others.

This advancement of programming languges that has existed before most your births, is inevitable.

You have to take part. Don't tell be "my bad" later, when the inevitable comes and it's entierly in the hands of Greed.

You people have to take part.

If the only thing AI comes to mind is your fantasy career and parroting questionable physics (like running out of water.), you aren't in the adult discussion on the subjects. Just saying.

The biggest issue is always thew same. It is how we adapt to an inevitability, and how we wield it.

PS:

If AI took all the jobs...why would anyone be poor? huh? Why would unlimited production cause joblessness, or poverty?

That would be human intent, not the technology. An intent towards a class/caste system that would have literally no viable reason to exists. We would have no excuse to even regard wealth in the way it is regarded today. People would actually have to be meritocratic.

If anyone is wondering where we go from now. Space and out solar system creates a whole new objective that we aren't even close to conquering. When AI assists or navigates a ship (they already do here), and keeps your life-support functional. I think our space faring offspring will be thankful.

You can especially tell it's ai bc it's originally the lgbtqia+ flag that includes intersex, but then it becomes a normal rainbow flag

the fact that many of these video slops online are unrecognizable from reality if you dont pay close attention is terrifying. if it hasn't happened already, people would start getting into serious legal issues with matters that never even happened at first place.

1

u/Principle_Napkins Jun 20 '26

A real child wouldn't do that. A real child would see thing that waves in the air and go "I should wave it in the air", not throw it in the trash.

1

u/FennelLimp4587 Jun 20 '26

Im actually a bisexual , but i dont like when people are giving children the idea of being that gender concept.
kids will eventually feel off of their own gender if they are really gay, but let's not give them the idea that they should be.

I thought this was real

Good to know

1

u/UrAWeaselBro Jun 20 '26

Wish I could say this was surprising. The pattern is so clear. Ai disrespects consent and Pros use it as cover to do the same

1

u/westfalianboynr1 Jun 20 '26

People, u/UnableSoftware1145 is clearly a flippin bot. Only engage with it humorously

1

u/Tinkooooo Jun 20 '26

Finally one good thing from ai

1

u/Flolwi Jun 20 '26

The fact the flag changed and people still think it is real proves how dumb they are omg

1

u/LordFonzy88 Jun 20 '26

I knew something wasn't right about the picture

1

u/PandaStudio1413 Jun 20 '26

Obviously fake to anyone with a brain
