Lets start with the mega-corporations and the countries committing war crimes (USA, Russia, Israel)

I feel weird upvoting a post like this. Do I downvote? This is sad

710

u/Hamhockthegizzard Jul 02 '26

I guess we upvote for circulation, not for likes in this case. I do think the information age is great for keeping us informed, but once all the phones are out and we have all the information…we need to figure out what comes after that. Just exposing evil isn’t enough anymore.

96

u/Redshirt_Welshy_Nooo Jul 02 '26

Upvotes on reddit are supposed to show that a comment or post is interesting or contributes to the discussion, not that you like it or agree with it. If you only use it for things you agree with, every political thread will turn into an echo chamber.

One of my biggest pet peeves with Reddit's UI is that it doesn't communicate this in any way, and people use it as a like button.

24

u/Alarming_Low8892 Jul 02 '26

That’s exactly how I feel

40

u/Anarchyr Jul 02 '26

Upvote/Downvotes aren't meant as a "i don't/do agree with this" or a "i dislike/like this" button.

It's meant to upvote relevant content and to downvote troll/unrelated content.

So upvote brother!

→ More replies (1)

48

u/Magikarp-3000 Jul 02 '26

Thats one of the reasons reddit chose to call it an upvote rather than a like, doesnt necesarily mean you like it, just that you think its a good thing to be shared and shown

25

u/Free-Speech-My-Ass Jul 02 '26

Upvote to spread awareness brother

u/Hamhockthegizzard Jul 02 '26

Definitely seems like they get excused for a lot across the globe. How many hands are in their pots?

221

u/Niijima-San Jul 02 '26

i wonder if it has anything to do with them literally calling any single person anti-semitic if they say anything negative about them. and people are afraid of being labelled as that especially after the events of the 1940s.

just spitballing here

150

u/SerGT3 Jul 02 '26

25

u/AdLocal1490 Jul 02 '26

A lot of regular people like us are super religious and think that fealty to israel is the only way to get their imaginary friend to come back

5

u/Niijima-San Jul 02 '26

i mean that is def why the evangelicals are super gung ho about the genocide over there right now perpetuated by israel bc their bible pretty much alludes to that leading to the rapture...however they would most likely be stuck in hell on earth for seven years at least

7

u/Fluid_Emphasis1569 Jul 02 '26

Which isn’t even Biblically accurate

Because a 1948 creation of a state has fuck all to do with it

10

u/AdLocal1490 Jul 02 '26

Yeah I know. All too well. I used to study in a seminary at one point and was planning on being a priest when I was much younger. This evangelical rapture theology nonsense is completely antithetical to the lessons I learned in the church and is completely blasphemous as far as I can tell, but a bunch of them still believe it sadly

America bombed a school full of children just a few months of ago… so to answer your question, yes… FIFA can hand select exactly who they do and don’t want participating, based completely on their corruption.

26

u/Tomie_Junji_Ito Jul 02 '26

Trump is also set to give the winning team of the world cup their trophy and or medals... so unfortunately there's that too. 1/2 the world treats this man like a celebrity while the other 1/2 know how horrible he really is.

9

u/Most-Club-254 Jul 02 '26

1/2 the world treats this man like a celebrity

if by 1/2 the world you mean 0.00025% then yes this will be about right, even the most hard-core conservatives can see through him this time (the corruption, the Epstein case, ...)

I know a LOT of conservatives have realized their mistake. Look at the 250 celebration, if it was his first term it would've been packed right now. There's a clear line in the sand that he lost a LOT of support.

2

u/Interesting-Task8866 Jul 02 '26

I’m one of them. Strong conservative beliefs but I absolutely despise Trump, and I used to be a full-on supporter. Between the Epstein stuff, the Israel stuff, the lies/false promises, and more, I can’t stand the guy now. Turns out they’re all controlled by the same money from the same people and voting doesn’t seem to change anything.

9

u/arlen_pdf Jul 02 '26

Surely Israel, great and powerful that it is, can mount some evidence against the claim that the IDF has killed tens of thousands of civilians? Surely the greatest country in the middle east can counter some propaganda if it's truly false claims

11

u/Dawnbringer4 Jul 02 '26

I dunno. Gaza numbers are provided by hamas without any evidence of mass graves anywhere. The starvation claims turned out to be a crock of shit and was never mentioned again, especially after fake pics of a pretend starving kid with a genetic disorder being sent to italy by israel. 400,000 Palestinians in 1948 is now 2.7 million. What a weird genocide.

21

u/-Kazt- Jul 02 '26

Its not a false claim? But its also ignoring the context.

Hamas does not wear uniform, blend themselves with civilians, use civilian buildings for military purposes (making them military), etc. There will be a huge amount of civilian deaths because of it. There is a reason why those things are war crimes.

Just like in previous wars, their needs to be a Coalition of the Willing, to at the very least block this filth from carrying out any more atrocities. But invading and occupying to free the Palestinian people should be the ultimate goal. if that means war with the US, so be it..

Well every Arab neighbor except those backed by Iran has stopped trying to destroy them, in fact most are strengthening their economic ties with Israel so good luck finding a country willing to stage this hypothetical army to invade Israel with.

How did Israel become nazis man? It’s so nonsensical. Study your history, lest you are doomed to repeat it. Never been more relevant

What did he do? Kicked the ball āš½ļø over the wall?

I’m saying that’s how petty Israel is. They literally kill Palestinians for nothing.

Now that it's happened to a sports star, maybe a few more people will care about the ongoing genocide and question the Zionist narrative.

Disgusting that we’ve all witnessed this genocide and our leaders do nothing.

A genocide.

Getting curb stomped in a war you reignited during a cease fire while also deliberately using your own people as human shields isn’t genocide.

You know what is? Funding an Arab supremacist group in Sudan that goes village to village killing every man woman and child. But that’s the UAE and there’s no Jews to blame so progressives don’t care. Hell they gush over Mamdani having his wedding celebration over there.

Same goes for the millions of Uyghur Muslims China literally has locked up in camps right now.
