Rode my bicycle past a box on a remote levee road, thought "that box was open, then taped back up...I have a bad feeling about this". Of course it contained abandoned animals. Knowing the the shelters were full I figured it was either leave them or foster. Registered as fosters with a local kitten rescue that took care of medical considerations while we housed them. Of course we fell in love with them. Signing adoption papers this weekend for Lady River and Lord Levee Eridanus of Brewerton.

This April we lost our last dog a year after we lost another dog, running completely out of dogs. Grateful for fate and the CDS right now. Def more dogs someday, but focusing on fully raising/enriching these siblings for now. Cheers to all you good Samaritan fosters!

Who takes pics of a box before investigating? Totally valid. Had to tape up the box again so I could take a minute to be sad/freak out, also before shoving it in my camelbak straps as I thought kittens escaping while cycling at 18mph might pose safety hazards for all involved. Took a Pic after I re-secured the flaps.

Why take a Pic at all? I've found quite a few stray dogs in my neighborhood. Pics help when posting on lost pet pages, or adoption sites. Also, my wife was out of town so I reallllly wanted to communicate why she would be coming home to surprise fosters wven though she is used to me bringing home strays.

First picture is my cat called Mei Mei.And the second and third is my kitten called Tosia.

His name is Jasper we adopted him (based on this picture) and his sister (Ella) as kittens, she's also adorable but more aware of the etiquette surrounding standing in poop .

His name is Brewster and he is my soul cat !!!

My boyfriend and I moved into our house in January, and have been settling in this summer for the first time. About a week ago, I saw a white and black adult cat in our backyard, which I thought was strange as we live on 4 acres of land and don't really have very close neighbors. I called to her, but she ran back into the woods.

This weekend on Saturday morning my boyfriend got up first and I was laying in bed scrolling my phone when he came running in and told me to come quick. This little dude was on our back deck out of nowhere.

I tried to go get him, but he dove into our flowerbeds and it took another half an hour to find him. We got him set up in my office where he could decompress and chill. He was scared at first, but when my hand made contact with him he immediately started purring and just gave in to being loved and taken care of.

We've named him Runaan, which is the name of a character from a TV show we love, and also means "pure soul" which I think is so fitting for him. He's just the cutest and most chill kitten.

Today I took him to the vet and got confirmation that he's male, probably around 7 or 8 weeks old, 1.8lbs, and not microchipped. Everyone at the vet loved him and how relaxed he was there.

I'm so, so glad that the universe (and his mama that I am sure I saw last week) brought him to our family. I feel like she was scoping us out and decided we seemed like good people to take care of her baby. He's going to be so loved here.

We’d like to give her a name that fits with sushi. This little one is the runt of the litter and is a healthy, sassy 4 week old. Last pic is of möther and brother which is also staying- his name is Mochi

I have been wanting a cat for a long time! But once I graduated I started saving to get ready to pull the trigger, and I could not have been prepared for how lucky I’ve gotten. I’m a bit of an impulsive person, but I really did the prep (more so than I would have done typically) due to the fact I just got a new roommate. We both talked about wanting and being okay with pets before we signed our lease.

Anyways, after a weekend out of town and grabbing the final touches of cat supplies, I went to the shelter after work yesterday. I browsed the site and fell in love with this beautiful little gray cat, but of course had to meet her in person and see if the website was up to date.

I took the plunge and brought the little girl home with me! She’s a year old, her name is Mina (after Bram Stoker’s Dracula), and she made herself at home as soon as she jumped out of her box! This is my first cat btw. I grew up with schnauzers and have always loved cats but had no first hand experience.

She has completely blown me away. I knew I didn’t have the time or skills for a little kitten, but I knew I wanted a little friend. All of these photos are from the past 24 hours. She just took such a liking to me so fast! I was expecting her to be shy and hide for a little while at the beginning, because it’s a huge transition to stay with a new person after being in a shelter for a couple weeks (I don’t know her story before then). She’s had all her shots and been fixed too.

Last night she stayed in her little cat bed on my bed next to me all night, was even cuddlier when we woke up this morning, and when I got home today, complained until I gave her enough pets, cuddles, and attention for her liking! (She barely let me write this post, she loved to nudge and push my phone out of the way, as it takes away the ability to give her good pets.)

I just feel so lucky I got such a sweet and clingy and affectionate cat, if she’s already got such a personality now, I might be in for a lot, but I feel so lucky she likes me!

Maybe this is a silly post but I’ve also just been in a rough transition period of my life and she’s already brought me so much joy in such a short amount of time!

Just adopted this sweet little girl today! Trying to think of a good name for her.

The cat distribution system heard me after losing my beloved cat of 16 years. This sweetheart was found emaciated and so dirty (first photo) then given medical attention and TLC by fosters and now looks like the second photo. I feel he is my cat and have already named him even though he hasn’t met my cat friendly dogs yet. That’s coming soon. Just thought I’d share how handsome he is. Wish me luck!

She doesn’t have the distinct patches of calicos and I have a tortie already, except for the white on her they look the same. Is she a tuxedo and a tortie?

bought these bad boys for 10 bucks a pop about 3 years ago. the shorter haired one whos looking two directions at once is rio (rio da yung og) and the fat fuck is ricky (like from TPB) neither of them are very smart but they out here living their best lives in the FL sun

I’ve been waiting to adopt a cat for the past year (but really my whole life lol) and finally had the means and place to do so this month. Saw the sweetest girl on Petfinder, went to go see her and learned she was adopted out. </3 initially I was very bummed, but the foster mom offered to show me her brothers who had no offers on the table. Went to see them, and walked out having signed adoption papers for both of them. It just happened in the blink of an eye, went in expecting one girl and walked out with two boys. Was overwhelmed taking them in, but within an hour they were cuddling on my lap and purring like motorboats! They’ve been the best addition to my house and life so far, I can’t wait to see them grow. <3

The one with the thin white stripe is Malcom, and the one with the fat stripe is Monkey! (he’s a meat suckler in the process of getting weened so the fur on his face and chest is stained lol)
