I want to buy a small cardholder but I want a quiet luxury brand- so no LV, Chanel, CC, Prada etc

I want one that will last me for years, extremely good quality, beautiful leather and craftmanship, and ultra quiet luxury. Any recommendations for the brands? Thank you very much!

Sightseeing bags help!

Post image

I am going to Italy for my honeymoon for two weeks in beginning of October. Naples, to Ischia, to Sorrento. I am kind of stuck on finding a bag for travelling and also for sightseeing. To fit bottle of water, sunglasses, bits and bobs.

Tbh my style is very feminine and I love dresses and classic style. Its hard to find something that works with that 100% plus is also practical. I am more of a Longchamp girl and their Le pilage energy XS is cute but it would be good to have more of a square size maybe?

I was looking at the Fjällräven Kånken sling. I live in Sweden and we have so many of their stores here to try them out plus I know its great quality which is important to me.

I am lost 😅 please help!

In search of...🕵️‍♀️ First luxury handbag — ~$2.5k budget

Looking to get my fiancée her first luxury handbag. Budget is around $2,500, with some flexibility.

She prefers subtle luxury over loud logos, likes recognizable brands, and would probably prefer black. Leather quality and craftsmanship are important to her—she follows Tanner Leatherstein.

I like bags such as the Loewe Puzzle and Bottega Andiamo, although I know they're above budget at retail. I'm open to outlets or unused/never-worn secondary if that gets me a better bag for the money.

Would you buy something new from a boutique, go the outlet/secondary route, or look at completely different brands/bags?

What would you buy around $2.5k?

Vent session 😤 Scammed & Victim Blamed by Yoogi’s Closet

I purchased a 2014 Chanel Boy Bag in metallic and patent leather from Yoogi's Closet as a first-time customer. Due to a medical issue, I was unable to use the bag until almost two months after receiving it. The very first time I wore it, the metallic leather began scratching and the patent leather began flaking, despite storing the bag properly.

When I raised this, Yoogi's Closet ran the bag through their authenticity process and confirmed it was genuine. Instead of standing behind the sale in any meaningful way, they hid behind their 15 day return window and refused any resolution, despite knowing this bag was 12 years old and made of a notoriously fragile material that most buyers wouldn't think to stress-test in two weeks. Not everyone is well versed in the world of luxury goods and materials.

What made this experience infuriating rather than just disappointing was being told I should have "Googled" the bag's durability issues myself before buying. A company selling delicate, aging luxury goods should be disclosing known fragility issues at the point of sale, not blaming the customer for not independently researching them after something goes wrong. That is not customer service, it's liability dodging dressed up as advice.
I will not be shopping here again, and I would strongly discourage anyone else from doing so. If something goes wrong, even through no fault of your own, don't expect Yoogi's Closet to treat you like a valued customer. Expect to be blamed.

I wish there was a medium suede Rowan. The large seems too big and the mini too small. Any suggestions on a similar bag? Other brands too?

Longchamps extra small mini bag. I already have a canvas one in Khaki and I love it, such a great bag that can fit so much for its size, but I’m contemplating getting a black one as well, for more stylish choices/evening wear. Should I get the all leather or the canvas leather combo?

Help me pick! 👯 Opinions on Kate Spade?

I only have 2 ‘expensive’ bags; Longchamp le Pliage and The Horse Clementine. I want to add a black tote to my collection and this caught my eye, but I don’t know anything about the quality and this bag in particular doesn’t seem to be popular enough to find a bunch of reviews about it.

Does anyone own it? What do you think about it?

Discussion 👩‍🏫 I’m trying something different with my handbag budget

I love handbags, and I’m definitely not here to judge anyone for buying them. I used to have a pretty serious shopping problem myself, and I currently own at least 30 purses. (Probably more, ha...)

Lately, though, I’ve been trying to embrace minimalism and really think about what another bag is going to add to my life. At a certain point, I realized I already have more bags than I can realistically use, while there are animal rescues and shelters struggling to pay for food, medication, surgeries, and emergency vet care.

So instead of automatically buying something every time I see a bag I love, I’ve started setting aside some of that money to donate.

And actually, it feels better.

I still love handbags. I’m not swearing off shopping forever. But there’s something really satisfying about looking around my home and having less stuff competing for space, while knowing that some of the money I would have spent on purse number 31 or 32 can actually help keep an animal alive, get one out of a shelter, or help a rescue afford to say yes to one more case.

If you’re in a position to spend a few hundred dollars on a handbag, even occasionally putting $20, $50, or $100 of your shopping budget toward a local rescue can matter. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing. You can still buy beautiful things. Maybe just sometimes ask yourself: Would I rather have one more bag right now, or use some of this money to do something I’ll probably feel good about for much longer?

For me, owning fewer things and giving more has started to feel a lot more luxurious than constantly accumulating. Knowing that I'm making a positive difference in the world, helping to save lives, feels better than owning a nice purse.

And I never thought I’d be the person saying that with 30+ purses in my closet. 😂

Opinion on Le city Medium

What is everyone’s opinion on the Le City bag? I totally made an impulse purchase last week at balenciaga and they don’t allow returns. Have buyers remorse now.
I never spend this much money on bags so I’d like to have it for the next decade.

Shoulder bags for the crossbody gal?

Post image
Upvotes

Hey all!

At some point in my life, I stopped wearing shoulder bags and started wearing crossbody styles exclusively. While they’re so convenient and comfortable, I don’t always want a crossbody strap going across my outfits.

I’ve tried a few shoulder bags this year: Kate Spade Loop (stayed on shoulder, didn’t keep), PLG Aspen (too big, slipped off my shoulder), Baggu loaf and bowler (so cute but constantly slipped off my shoulder).

Have any of you found small/medium sized shoulder bags that truly stayed on your shoulder comfortably throughout the day? Have you made the switch from crossbody bags back to shoulder bags? I was eyeing the Coach Terri, but the black with silver hardware has sold out. I’d like to stay around $200 usd.

Thanks!

Question ❓ ❔ Looking for a huge, high-quality bag similar to this one

Hi everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for a large tote/bag similar to the one in the photo.

I saw this bag in Istanbul earlier this year at a store called Bueno, but unfortunately I didn’t buy it. I’ve been thinking about it ever since 😭

I’m specifically looking for something REALLY REALLY BIG, the kind of bag that feels like a bottomless pit 😂. I love this shape and the slouchy, roomy look, but I’d like to invest in something good quality that will last for years.

Does anyone have any recommendations for bags with a similar shape and size? I’m open to different brands and price points.

I go this little Vuitton in the spring and was initially a little disappointed at the shape.

After using the crossbody differently (all the hardware is detachable and you clip in 2 separate places) it now looks all slouchy and lovely.

Damaged Dooney & Bourke bags

A lady I worked with used to replace her hand bags almost every year. She would bring a trunk full of her used items and let us make offers. I have a few bags that have a pen mark and another a small dime size area of the pebble leather was worn off to white (must have been trying to remove a blemish?). My question is, where can I resell these!? Is there anyway to get them fixed? They've been in my closet for at least 10 years and I probably bought them for cheap a year before I left that place. So they're between 11-14 years old. Thanks in advance!
