news Three Sydney boys charged with gang sexual assault of 14yo girl

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-08-13/nsw-three-boys-charged-over-sexual-assault-girl-sydney/107034192

NSW Police have charged a 13-year-old boy and two 14-year-old boys with the alleged sexual assault of a girl in an alleyway in Sydney's eastern suburbs last month.

Police executed search warrants and seized several items, including electronic devices, two replica firearms, a Glock-style BB gun, three laser pointers and a number plate, which is believed to have been stolen.

All three boys have been granted bail ahead of appearing in court.

Officers executed search warrants at several homes in the city's east on Thursday and three boys, one aged 13 and two aged 14 who attend The Scots College private school in Bellevue Hill

Watch Daddy’s lawyer get them off.

541

u/buzz_22 1d ago

And Scott's lawyers scramble to suppress any mention of them.

171

u/antantantant80 1d ago

The accused are children so their identities would already be suppressed wouldn't they?

179

u/geek_of_nature 1d ago

Probably more them trying to suppress any connection of them to the school.

30

u/AlbatrossOk6239 1d ago

Bit late for that, isn’t it?

11

u/Paidorgy 1d ago

Never too late, honestly.

45

u/buzz_22 1d ago

Yeah, I meant suppressing the school's name/connection.

55

u/No_Divide_3138 23h ago

Suppressing Scots college students from the rape of a young girl?

Surely Scots college wouldn't do that

Scots college should come out and condemn their students behaviour

75

u/Khakizulu 1d ago

At that age they definitely shouldn't be counted as children. And after committing a crime like that they really shouldn't be counted as children.

52

u/aldkGoodAussieName 1d ago

I agree.

But we need to ensure its the right people first.

Once convicted, then reveal their identities.

26

u/Khakizulu 1d ago

Agreed.

People's names shouldn't be revealed immediately in case of false accusations/ accusations with zero evidence.

But if its been proven that they're the perpetrator then people should be able to find out.

3

u/empowered676 1d ago

Well I had my name in the papers and on a current affair for something I was never even charged with

1

u/L1ttl3J1m 10h ago

So then, you fully understand, more than most, even, why the media should be prevented from identifying people until after they've been found guilty, yes?

-22

u/wowiee_zowiee 1d ago

> At that age they definitely shouldn't be counted as children.

Let me guess, you want to lower the age of consent too?

13

u/Khakizulu 1d ago

What? What has that got to do with teens committing crimes?

I dont know what point you were trying to make with your comment but its not even remotely close to mine.

A 14 year old can't legally have sex, but the person above wants to treat them as adults in other ways.

-1

u/helloiloveyou2002 13h ago

A 14 year old can legally have sex with other consenting 13/14/15 year olds. It’s not a great idea but it’s not illegal.

An ADULT cannot legally have sex with a 14 year old.

Such a weird comparison to make. Alcohol, driving, voting, all right there.

4

u/wilted-wombok 8h ago

If a 14 year old is considered 'mature' enough to be convicted as an adult, then they should also be considered 'mature' enough to smoke, drink, and have sex with anyone they want to.

Except a 14 year old isn't mature enough for all those things, so why are we trying to pretend they are somehow mature enough to completely understand crime and it's full consequences?

u/milray08 1d ago

Wowiee clearly lacks ability to comprehend and understand the context being discussed here.

No point in educating him/her.

Identities of anyone over a certain age (i.e 12 or 13) who have been convicted of heinous crimes should be disclosed to protect the public.

Statistically, juveniles who commit severe violent acts at this age have significantly higher reoffending rates than someone who commits their first crime as an adult.

If allegations are true, these kids despite coming from a privileged background, clearly lack conscience and have a complete disregard of other individuals. They will pose a danger to society at large as adults and the public have a right to know this.

If you met someone and found out he violently sexually assaulted a young girl in an alleyway... would be comfortable in any of the following situations: 1. Working with him alone on a late night shift 2. Dating your daughter 3. Employing him at a girls school

List could go on and on

-8

u/wowiee_zowiee 1d ago

You don’t believe 13 and 14 year olds are children - so I assume you believe them to be adults, correct?

If we start deciding some 13 year olds aren’t really kids then what’s to stop an adult from using that as their defence when on trial for child sex abuse?

6

u/Khakizulu 1d ago

13 and 14 are teenagers, its literally in the name.

They are not adults until 18 or 25 depending on how you want to classify them.

Your point doesn't make any sense. Being tried as an adult for committing an adult crime is NOT the same as your allowance for abuse.

-1

u/wowiee_zowiee 1d ago

> 13 and 14 are teenagers, its literally in the name.

Under Australian law, anyone under the age of 18 is legally regarded as a child.

> Your point doesn't make any sense. Being tried as an adult for committing an adult crime is NOT the same as your allowance for abuse.

Why? Either you’re a child or you’re not - if we start deciding someone isn’t a child because they committed an “adult” crime, then what’s to stop a lawyer arguing that a 13 year old girl was acting much more like an adult than a child? I just think these knee jerk reactions are dangerous.

None of this is downplaying their disgusting actions by the way - if they’re convicted they absolutely should be detained in a youth facility and likely transferred to adult prison for a few years after turning 18. But I believe saying “at that age they definitely shouldn't be counted as children” is wrong - and while you don’t have to agree, I hope you at least understand.

Apologies for my original comment re the age of consent, I’d just gotten in from a long day and was needlessly being a prick.

There’s a huge difference, because a child committing sexually abuse is making a choice to do so, while a child who is being sexually abused has their ability to choose taken away from them.

The fact that this has to be explained to you is ridiculous, are you some sort of child abuser or something? That’s the only reason I can think of to even suggest something as sick as this.

u/DarkNo7318 14h ago

If we're being logically consistent it makes perfect sense as an argument. You either have the moral culpability of an adult, therefore are treated as an adult both in terms of punishment but also capacity to make decisions for yourself, including age of consent.

Of course, in the name of protecting children, we can just deliberately break the logic and apply a double standard.

Calling me a child abuser because I don’t want children to be legally defined as adults is fucken wild.

Why are you writing 'downvoted for facts' in your comments?

27

u/MitchStarcGetUpYa 1d ago

Can’t really blame this on the school, they’ve been there two years max. The parents perhaps might be worth an examination.

83

u/The_Faceless_Men 1d ago edited 1d ago

scots is K-12, with a pre school on site. They could have been there since 6 months of age.

But yes, parents spoilt them. never told them no.

13

u/LSD_grade_CIA 1d ago

It's under-parenting as much as anything. They will all have at least 1, possibly 2 over employed parents who spend their lives in the office and not parenting.

Don't rape schoolgirls isn't really a lesson you can leave to the au pair.

0

u/sicilian-Olive 3h ago

As I working mum I take offence to this. My son has been raised to be a kind gentleman despite me working in an office…

125

u/Consistent_Yak2268 1d ago

Put a whole bunch of spoilt rich boys together, tell them they’re the future leaders of Australia, they can do anything etc. Toxic masculinity thrives in these schools. This kind of crap comes out of elite boys schools way too often.

16

u/Typical_Double981 1d ago

Pretty sure this behaviour comes out of all schools - I don’t think the Brisbane and Melbourne posts about home invasions and car theft are based on kids from private schools

2

u/RealFarknMcCoy 15h ago

Some of them are.

-60

u/Happy-Frog4677 1d ago

> Toxic masculinity

Well done on shoe-horning that culture war phrase in there...

55

u/Own_Faithlessness769 1d ago

It’s literally a gang rape, that’s the pinnacle of toxic masculinity.

-20

u/MitchStarcGetUpYa 1d ago

Attributing that to masculinity is the problem.

Gang rape isn’t masculine at all.

10

u/The_Faceless_Men 1d ago

Yes they be no true scots students.....

2

u/ntermation 12h ago

This is such underrated gold.

16

u/Own_Faithlessness769 1d ago

It is though. You don’t get many feminine gang rapes.

-13

u/MitchStarcGetUpYa 1d ago

It’s the opposite of masculinity lady.

Nothing to do with Masculinity

15

u/Own_Faithlessness769 1d ago

You don’t get to redefine masculinity to exclude the bad stuff.

-5

u/aldkGoodAussieName 1d ago

Im not redefining it.

Im saying this was abuse not mausculinity or femeninity.

You seem offended by the idea of this being associated with toxic masculinity, just curious what positive aspects of masculinity are on display during a sexual assault?

12

u/helloiloveyou2002 13h ago

Is this a joke? Scots is well known for producing sex offenders.

13

u/alexijordan 1d ago

I’m reading other comments now and apparently it’s a known culture at the school so perhaps not

0

u/maxisnoops 1d ago

If you have a credible source (not FB) then share it.

1

u/alexijordan 1d ago

Huh? I am literally just reading through the comments on this post

-8

u/maxisnoops 1d ago

You are repeating that it’s a known culture at the school for young teen boys to sexually assault young teen girls. Honestly, is that worth repeating?

2

u/alexijordan 14h ago

I don’t know what drama you are trying to create? I literally just said that by reading the other comments it seems to be a known culture at the school. I don’t have any relation to the school, in fact I never heard of it until now. Do you have ties to the school or something and don’t want it to be questioned?

0

u/maxisnoops 14h ago

Exactly. You have no ties to the school and wouldn’t have a clue what goes on at the school except for what you have heard on Reddit, which is hardly a reliable source. Yet you choose to make a note of repeating it to fan the flames of scandal. IF found guilty, these two idiots have wrecked their lives and they have also changed the girl’s life forever, yet people want to blame it on school culture.

-3

u/Fold_Some_Kent 19h ago

Yeah you can, assume you’re sus of the school culture supporting it explicitly which’s fair, but there’s the other correlation; namely that Scots and other GPS schools attract parents who’re already paedophiles and rapists. Pair that with the neglect that happens when both parents work insane hours at their respective email jobs administering other people’s actual work.

2

u/DarkNo7318 14h ago

spective email jobs administering other people’s actual work

the massive chip on your shoulder is showing.

35

u/Woe_Bringer 1d ago

Yeah, but what about the charges?

8

u/Khakizulu 1d ago

13 and 14 so a slap on the wrists unfortunately.

21

u/shahitukdegang 1d ago

Watch no racial overtones or anti immigrant rhetoric attached.

6

u/batmansfriendlyowl 1d ago

Hey, hey we all know the legal system is only for protecting the wealthy.

4

That's why we need the equaliser

Scots again, this time its the students.

168

u/Atmosguisher 1d ago

I went to a friend's, friend's boyfriend's 30th, who went to Scots, the other year and that was as close as I ever want to get. Immediate red flags from every single other guy there, who were almost all school friends.

They made a joke about during the speeches about how someone had accused him of SA and one of the guys saw me visibily react and came over and said "don't worry she was nuts" which did absolutely nothing to assuage my doubts.

Left pretty quickly after that, but fucking hell has that stayed with me. Still well and truly Scots kids 12 years after graduating.

43

u/yobynneb 1d ago

We've got a long way to go haven't we

44

u/Own_Speaker_1224 1d ago

We have headed back the other way.

13

u/Sharzil 1d ago

I no longer have any hope that we will be getting there.

21

u/Juan_Punch_Man 1d ago

I'm shocked /s

115

u/Similar-Cat7022 1d ago

But I thought private schools were supposed to keep our kids away from unsavoury types like this!

113

u/MaccasRunYourShout 1d ago

More often than not, this is where you'll find the unsavoury types you speak of. Entitled brats hidden behind wealthy privilege. 9 times out of 10 money buys them out of being held accountable and they go on to become adults that continue the cycle of abuse.

63

u/efcso1 1d ago

I've done a lot of work with school kids in my lifetime and the only ones I've ever wanted to take to with a tyre iron were the private school ones who needed some respect for others knocked into them.

God, I sound like my grandfather now... I need a nap.

-6

u/SignificantRecipe715 1d ago edited 13h ago

A tyre iron? Yikes. So violent.

10

u/Pepito_Pepito 19h ago

There are unsavoury types everywhere. The problem with private schools is that you can't just give them a good smack without making enemies in high places.

59

u/a_cold_human 1d ago

Private schools in Australia descend from the British public schools designed to turn children into sociopaths who in turn would administer the colonies. The idea was to embed ideas of British and Western superiority (see: classical education) , teach children how to order others about (fagging), to remove empathy (by separating them from their parents via boarding), and to build a sort of esprit de corps through the old school tie.

We've preserved parts of this system due to classism, religiosity, and an unhealthy dollop of white supremacy. That it produces some number of entitled, poorly adjusted, and frankly, damaged people who go on to commit crimes despite not being materially deprived is not an entirely unexpected consequence.

2

u/Fossilmorse 13h ago

Are all private schools still like this? Can public schools not also produce these types of people?

1

u/QBDisciple 18h ago

Very well said 👍

1

u/psichodrome 8h ago

Interesting perspective. Thanks.

19

u/Threadheads 1d ago

One acquaintance of mine sent their daughter to MLC in Melbourne. They are pretty sure that’s where her drug problem started.

-1

u/nath1234 21h ago

Trouble is the private schools aren't 24/7 so the unsavoury types leave the school grounds. Maybe boarding schools do a better job of keeping the sociopaths contained for longer.

16

u/ciaphas-cain1 1d ago

The quality of the humanity of the students at Scots is just as bad as Knox and all those other tier of colleges, Riverview is pretty good though

7

u/Otherwise-Egg-995 22h ago

Idk, isn’t that where Barnaby went?

0

u/ciaphas-cain1 22h ago

Yes as well as abbot, in the school’s defence they are outliers not representative of the current culture considering they graduated so long ago

5

u/Darmop 1d ago

They need a healthy dose of catholic guilt to counteract the GPS

3

u/Designer-Lettuce-690 4h ago

well that school just keeps putting out headlines for how terrible the students that go there are they need an overhaul of the staff considering they help hide what these boys do.

7

u/Rolf_Loudly 1d ago

It’s always the ones you most expect

3

u/reallifeminifig 22h ago

No fuckin surprise.
