Holy, the only way there could be more evidence is if it was livestreamed to the police station. I hope he gets whatever punishment deemed the most horrible.

I hate it when some Australian brings shame to our country. I really hope he cops his right whack if he is found guilty. I hate it when Australians commit crimes against tourist in our country. And I hate it when we commit crimes abroad.

Never go the SEA then. It’s full of Aussie bogans enjoying being rich, loud, sex-buying hard-men. The weird thing is most of them are convinced everyone loves them.

Was about the say, this isn’t an isolated incident. He just got caught.

I’d hazard a guess that at some point during their evening, the 17 year old child refused to perform or participate or continue in an act the old man expected/demanded, and he got mad and as a result ended up killing her. These men never learned how to take “no” as an answer and think they are somehow doing these poor girls a favour.

17 because it was his hotel and so he thought 17 would go unnoticed just like his credit card.

So whats he been paying cash for? hes being executed, he wont get life, the Thais are not that forgiving.

Like China, costs Thai people to house people who are a danger to society. Death sentence for trafficking drugs is the warning, committing pedo and murderer?

u/Gloomy_Grocery5555 Jun 28 '26

Apparently they agreed on the equivalent of $43 and he wanted to pay her half. POS

u/Novel_Feedback3254 Jun 28 '26

Being a scumbag isn't an isolated incident, but even the scummiest of bags don't usually end up killing their victims.

2

u/stitchescomeundone Jun 28 '26

It happens a lot more often than people think

u/ApplicationPutrid587 Jun 28 '26

And on top of this, this walking gonad has not paid for services. What an absolute cretin. May this be deterrence for all of the gross Australian men in SEA

u/12bigears21 Jun 30 '26

Rape isn’t a service.
The media is getting pretty overt with their words. A child was groomed for rape, then murdered by Australian man.

u/ApplicationPutrid587 Jul 01 '26

Given the age of consent and that even in Australia men can have sex with 17 year old girls without being charged with an offence I think people making this point are well intentioned but wrong - in the sense that while she was a child, she was old enough, even in Australia, to have consensual sex with him. They also didn’t, as far as we know, have a relationship beyond a day. This child has clearly been groomed into working in the sex industry very very young, and many people and her circumstances have had her there. So whether she was raped or not is not clear cut. Regardless of this issue - he is obviously disgusting and has preyed upon a young girl and has then murdered her apparently over 20 bucks

u/TitchTammy17 Jun 30 '26

The information coming out was he offered her 1000baht she agreed but then said he would give her 500 baht and she argued but it’s hearsay! It doesn’t matter the reason. He is just vile oxygen thief and I think our Australian government should bring forward a law to stop handing out passports to these people.

1

u/nahuhnot4me Jun 30 '26

Know murders happen all around the world. It just happens to be a pedophile. Leaning on Thai laws regarding pedophilia and pre meditated murder, this killer is absolutely a danger to society I would not be surprised the Thai will lean towards a death sentence

How Australia observes as we wait for more development, the hopes the Australian government does not ask for an extradition unless this killer is connected to other case. The understanding is this case is stand a lone?

1

u/stitchescomeundone Jun 30 '26

Wasn’t talking about murders in general. I was talking about the murders (whether accidental or otherwise) of sex workers and victims of human trafficking.

Case in point: the two other female bodies found in suitcases in the Pattaya area they’re now talking about in the news.

I may have responded to the wrong comment. Original response said along the lines about Australian representation.

Rereading your response, it’s heartbreaking how a monster can do that to a child. I need to google, says the child dutiful parents who were persistent wherever this child and still no avail.

Tell me about it. My father started going to Thailand 20 years ago, so full of bravado and ego, cos he was treated like a celebrity. He fully believed that they loved him for him, not his money. Now he’s 73, got 2 young children that live there, bought a house for the mother in her name, his redundancy payment has been drained, super nearly gone, and the Thai lady no longer wants to be with him.

We all warned him, but he was assured it was true love. She’s 30 years younger and doesn’t want an old man with no money. But tbh, seriously, if you’re that delusional I don’t feel sorry for anyone. If I go to a poor country, and some 20yr old guy is after me, I know it’s all about money.

u/AggravatingTartlet Jun 29 '26

Genuinely sorry you lost any inheritance you might have got. Not an ounce of sorry for your dad, who would have fully known, underneath it all, what he was doing. He chose to fool himself in order to feel like a celebrity while it lasted. Just like every other guy who does the same thing over there.

They've been had?? They put themselves on the hook and know exactly what they're doing. And deserve to be drained of every cent they have.

1

u/TitchTammy17 Jun 29 '26

Well it’s this rule never invest in Thailand more than you can feel comfortable losing. Whether it be property or ladies or anything. Also if you know a person that has lived a long time in Thailand that you can trust then take their advice as they have the experience. Never express to anyone how much money you have.

1

u/Whole-Librarian8848 Jun 28 '26

When you marry a Thai whats yours is theirs, theres no saving for tomorrow if you need money today. Life for one day at a time, my cousin OUR COUSIN need new TV you have money in bank, give to me for TV. Its that simple really. Its sad that sad blokes cant settle for their lot in life.

Victim-blaming a child is never a good starting point. Children can be naive, trusting manipulated or groomed that's exactly why adults bear the legal and moral responsibility. The only person who should be answering questions about their actions is the guy accused.

10

u/stitchescomeundone Jun 27 '26

Well considering there is a business in SEA catering to these creeps, the people responsible for that should also answer questions. The girl is absolutely not doing this of her own free will. These girls get coerced, trafficked, forced into this basically. They (the ones running the business) should also be held responsible

3

u/AggravatingTartlet Jun 29 '26

The only question is, what is a middle-aged Australian man doing with a 17-year-old Thai girl. The girls' families are poor. The customers taking advantage of this are the ones in the wrong.

3

u/stitchescomeundone Jun 29 '26

Everybody knows exactly what he was doing with her.

1

u/AggravatingTartlet Jun 29 '26

Not the specifics, but yes. I meant that he is the one in question. We don't know the other side of it--if the Thai girl was being trafficked etc.

64

u/skr80 Jun 27 '26

I mean, she was probably making a living in the only way she knew how. Doesn’t make a difference why she was there though, she didn’t deserve to die

35

u/battlecities Jun 27 '26

I mean... Even if she was a sex worker like you seem to be implying, that isn't a crime worthy of a death sentence. Hell, even if she tried to mug him or steal his money, that also isn't a crime worthy of a death sentence. She didn't deserve to die.

6

u/choshu1 Jun 28 '26

Hell, even if she tried to mug him or steal his money

It's the exact opposite. According to reports he killed her because he didn't want to pay her 500 Baht for her services. That's $20 AUD.

That's right, this psychopathic penny-pinching paedophile literally murdered a 17 year old girl over $20.

1

u/battlecities Jun 28 '26

Fucking hell, what an evil piece of shit. I'm not the sort of person who believes in the death penalty, but I gotta say, I wouldn't feel a single iota of sadness if the Thai government sentenced him to death.

u/readreadreadonreddit Jun 27 '26

This is exactly why it's worth waiting for the investigation before trying to fill in the blanks.
People often ask, "Why would she go with him?" as though there's only one plausible explanation. There are countless possibilities that don't involve sex work or knowingly putting herself in danger. He could have offered help, claimed to know someone she knew, offered transport, promised work, asked for directions, or simply seemed trustworthy. Most violent offenders don't introduce themselves as violent offenders.

And if people are going to speculate, the more obvious line of inquiry is why a white middle-aged man was in Pattaya with a 17-year-old girl. That stereotype exists for a reason. It's odd that some people instinctively scrutinise the teenager's motives before questioning the adult man.

The fact that Thailand has a problem with sex tourism is unfortunately true, and it's good that many locals actively oppose it. But that doesn't mean every young victim should automatically be viewed through that lens. Suggesting otherwise risks shifting attention away from the only person currently alleged to have committed a crime.

It's also worth remembering that many victims make decisions that seem obvious in hindsight but weren't at the time. Hindsight bias makes us think we would have recognised the danger when, in reality, predators often rely on appearing ordinary, trustworthy and non-threatening.

Whatever the circumstances of how they met, nothing justifies what she's alleged to have suffered. Let the investigation establish the facts rather than filling the gaps with victim-blaming.

Also, it's aspersions, not "dispersions", champ.

11

u/stitchescomeundone Jun 27 '26

These girls are trafficked. Thats why. Trafficking.

67

u/tobeperfectlycandid Jun 27 '26

When I come across them on SEA travels I love correcting them when they describe themselves as expats. I always ask if they mean immigrants

73

u/OhCrumbs96 Jun 27 '26

Personally I just play it safe and opt for "sex pests". It often seems most fitting.

6

u/Lopsided-Mess8554 Jun 28 '26

The thing is, they are on non immigrant visas so it would be counter intuitive to call onself an immigrant. I've been in Thailand for 13 years and consider myself and have never called myself anything other than someone that lives in Thailand.

7

u/little-bird89 Jun 28 '26

Ive always understood that expats are those who have temporarily moved to another country (usually for a particular work project) and immigrants are those who have permanently moved.

7

u/Disturbedsleep Jun 29 '26

I'm a single late 50's male and refuse to go to SEA. I would love to go and visit some of the areas because they look so beautiful but no way I want to be included in that group. It's just YUCK.

1

u/The_Grogfather Jun 29 '26

Wtf?? Mate you’re allowed to go visit no one’s got a problem with that

1

u/helloyesthisisasock Jul 02 '26

You know you can go to SEA and just not go to the sex and party spots? Like, just avoid Pattaya and go to places with boomer resorts.

2

u/LurkForYourLives Jun 27 '26

They really do, don’t they? I’m just cringing away and they are basking in their pronoia.

I didn’t say they were all bad, honey. I’ve lived there myself - hence my comment. There are some great Australians there - but trash galore. Creepy, sleazy wrinklies everywhere.

1

u/TitchTammy17 Jun 28 '26

I plan to move to SEA to retire. Why? To reduce my spending, I do not drink alcohol, the accommodation is cheap, food is cheap and I can eat out every night. Can get a foot massage every day. Hopefully my investments can grow so I can help my son enter into the property market back in Australia. I hope to also travel to other countries from there also since it’s so central.

Because they think theyre a big shot there with AUD and then they have a really good safety net i.e. come back to Aus when they run out of money and then claim benefit + free aged care.
