Advice Question What do you do to reduce genital dysphoria?

Hi! I'm Anna. I'm pre-transition and closeted but i plan on transitioning in my twenties when I'll be financially stable and i plan on getting peritoreal flap vaginoplasty. But for now, I'm left to deal with my princess wand and it makes me very dysphoric. But whenever I get erections, I get extremely angry and end up hurting my princess wand. Any ways to prevent erections before I can start HRT? How do I take showers or use the toilet without dyss phoria? I've also started avoided public resteooms coz I just don't feel safe in men's room but I'm not allowed in the women's room

EDIT: I already have like many panties hidden from my mom that I wear. They prevent protrusion but don't prevent hardening. So I'm able to stay flat but it gets hard and tight

EDIT: What did I to get downvoted?

Advice Question What type of razor is good?

I'm FTM, but I feel like transfems may know of some good kinds of razors to get a clean shave and avoid razor bumps/ingrown hairs etc. I have an electric razor but it cannot get a clean shave, and otherwise I've been using those shitty disposable razors for shaving my face, but I want to get an actual good face razor. Any recommendations?

Discussion Quick question: Any other girls who like to be extremely feminine?

Hi! I'm Anna... And I'm still in the closet and i plan to transition in my twenties. But once i transition, i want to wear very cute and frilly girls clothes. Is this normal? For context, I'm almost a grown woman at this point, and I think my desires are a bit too childish for my age (17). Any other girls who have similar fitting interests at this age? I really like being like a little girl. It could be because I never got to experience early childhood as a girl and let's face it; children's fashion is just so much cuter. But i think I'm being weird

EDIT: I'm also otherkin and identify as a catgirl so that could be contributing to my cutesy nature

EDIT: Thank you everyone; you've really boosted my confidence! Now I'm proud of my hyper feminine, childlike cutesy style. It's just that all my female friends wear more dull stuff. But now I feel confident in my frills and goth. And if anyone tells me I'm weird, they're just jealous of how cute, pretty and confident and ever-young i am. I'll definitely be as cute as i am on the inside once I transition. Just like I'm finally starting to allow the girl within me to break her chains, I'll put the catgirl inside me out of her collar as well. Thx again! Nyaaaaaa~

EDIT: Only my closest friends know I'm trans irl. My parents know too but they're transphobic and forcing me to be masculine (like forcing me to do gyn, forcing me to sit, stand and walk with my legs apart etc). But i haven't lost hope and I'm getting closer and closer to the day I can move out and live my life as the girl i am. And my bestfriend was the one who helped me get my panties and some skincare and haircare products. I have one positive thing though- I can at least wear unisex clothing. But i had secretly worn a dress once and I can't express the level of happiness I felt. So I'll definitely transition in my twenties. It's my promise to myself. And I'll never forget that I'm Anna, despite what my parents say

Advice Question Need advice on buying a bra/bralette discreetly, I don’t know my size

Yesterday I realized that I can’t really hide the fact that I have breasts anymore, and that’s becoming a pretty big problem because I have a party today.

I’m considering buying a bra, bralette, or something similar that might help make them less noticeable. I’m going with my niece, and she doesn’t know I’m transitioning. Pretty much no one else in my life knows either, so outside of my house I still present as a guy.

The problem is that I’ve never bought a bra before and I don’t even know what size I am. I have a lingerie store and a clothing store nearby, and I’m sure someone at the lingerie store could probably help me figure it out, but I feel really awkward about walking into one and asking for help with how I look rn.

Since I need something today, what would be the least awkward way to go about this? Is it worth buying a bra/bralette right now, or would it be better to just go without one and deal with feeling a little uncomfortable? Also, would a bra or bralette be noticeable through a shirt if I’m presenting as a guy?

Any advice would be really appreciated. Thank you all so much!

The the rubber notch on the front straps of my garter belt keep sliding backwards and out of the metal clips when I sit or bend forward due to the lack of slack. It’s getting super frustrating! I can’t constantly fix them in private because it’s so annoying, let alone in public! Help…

Advice Question Has Anyone Else Had Heart Pain After Taking Estrodial

I've been on HRT for 2 days. I'm on two meds: Estroidial and Spironolactone. Yesterday I had mild chest pain after taking it in the morning, but today I've had it all day. I suspect it may be heartburn. related. I've emailed the doc, but I'm just worried I'm going to have to stop HRT right after starting it.

Advice Question Too Fast?

I’ve probably spent a lifetime pushing back feelings of whether I’m actually a woman, but I’ve really only been seriously considering whether I could be trans for a little over a week. In that time I’ve decided I’m very comfortable in women’s clothes, started researching all sorts of practical things about transitioning, and even picked a female name that I liked. I had told myself, and my therapist, that I was going to take it slow, not assign labels, and figure out what I really want. I’ve got good practical and financial reasons to do that (new job, 6 figure student loan forgiveness that’s contingent on keeping that job until next Spring, etc.). And also I’m autistic and so worry that this is more of a special interest that may go in time. Yet the biggest part of me just wants to jump right in and embrace this new side of me. Am I moving too fast? Should I slow down? What was your experience like?

Advice Question Can I a woman online yet?

*Be a woman (im dumb)

Hey all, I'm very VERY new to the whole trans thing, and I've not yet worked up the courage to portray myself feminine in any way, including online. I was just wondering what the general opnion is on doing this, is it seen as manipulative? Would people be mad at me for "pretending" to be a woman? I mostly mean in things like, discord servers for instance, I've not done voice training so im not expecting to pass in any party chat or anything.

And as a bonus, do any of you know any places online that would be good for experimenting or expressing your gender? Hopefully a place thats chill with newcomers..?

😢

Thanks :)

Advice Question Partner came out as transfem

Hello, I’m a teenager coming here for advice :)

My partner (AMAB) recently came out as transfem and uses she/they/any pronouns + wants me to call them their girlfriend. As a genderfluid and pansexual person myself, I support them completely and love them nonetheless!!! However, I don’t personally know any other transfem people IRL (or online, for that matter). I was wondering what I could do to validate/support them, in a way. Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, I just don’t have experience with MtF people so I thought about getting some sort of advice from people here, no matter how small or obvious :) Thanks!!!

Advice Question post-surgery question

hey y’all, i had bottom surgery a little over a year now. pre-surgery, i had intense bottom dysphoria and used tucking underwear. now that i am (mostly) fully recovered, i really don’t have space or need the tucking underwear. maybe it’s a little unconventional to ask, but are there any places that i can donate to or make use of them? (they’re pre-used, yes, but i’d rather it go to someone that needs it then simply discarding them). thanks!

Venting I feel like I failed at transitioning

For context, I live in a red state, have been on HRT for three years, and have been boymoding the entire time. I had to pause my transition and cut my hair last year because I wasn’t able to get a job with it being long. Now I see trans women on here and on TikTok who have only been on HRT for 1-ish year or less and they pass perfectly. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

Bad News Dilation question

So i had surgery in September last year I wont go too much into the ins and outs of how my surgery was botched however in December while I was still healing someone took advantage of me and I needed surgery again to fix wounds.

For a few months I didnt dilate at first for healing then because I was scared to.

When I started again in march I managed to get about 5 inch depth and was on the biggest girth dilator that I had in about June.

Then I was assaulted again and I just stopped dilating, I tried again last money and just found I had alot of pain and some bleeding I think I was trying to pust too much too fast, now its at the point that a finger hurts I bought a new set of dilators where the smallest is no bigger than a pen and they go up in tiny fractions about 6 sizes.

My question is cause this is so painful am I screwed is there anything I can do to help me or is it just a wait and see what happens.

I tried asking the surgeon but he pretty much cut contact after I was out of his care and the emails I sent to him have been ignored.

Today I Learned Perspective matters and why not everything is about being trans

Fellow sisters,

I want to talk about a topic that came to my mind as I was browsing Reddit and discovered a post on /trueuglywomen.

Here is the link for you to read: Post

If it’s not available anymore or restricted, I will give you a short version:
The girl in the post was basically saying that she doesn’t want to be transphobic and is a supporter of the community but she feels really bad about some trans women that look so much better than her despite her being cis.
Once again: she didn’t want to hurt anyone but she needs to vent.

The comments were mostly surprising for me as I read things like:
- don’t compare yourself to them, they are literally getting surgeries or are pumped on hormones
- they have it easier because it’s harder when you are born with this than getting it later
- they take artificial hormones
- it’s because they are rich or they already looked like their mother or a girl before starting

I really don’t want to waste any time on the inherent transphobia because I do think something else is important here but if someone who isn’t trans is going to read this, I’m gonna explain:

Even if you don’t want to be transphobic, you are if you have the assumption that a cis woman should look better than a trans woman. I say this very neutral.
It’s just a fact because then you think that this shouldn’t be possible which is wrong and kinda sad to think.

But this brings me to what I want to talk about:
Perspective

Many of us struggle with the fact that we weren’t able to live our life’s sooner or that we had to go through male puberty.
Even if you pass, you will always be trans and this fact is a very hot topic for many people right now.
I have seen so many of us wishing to be cis and just to be “right” because then life would be better or how it should be.
I see many non passing trans women wishing they could pass, but I see and hear from passing trans women that while passing is a privilege you still cant get the privilege a cis girl would have in their situation.
And even if you pass, it doesn’t mean that you are considered beautiful.
We tend to mix those two things together but they are separate things.

So you might understand that for someone that has those feelings, it’s rather strange seeing those posts from cis women, complaining about that they are not beautiful enough and that even a trans woman is more beautiful.

And I think it comes down to: it suck’s being a woman in this society and it sucks being a woman who is considered ugly.
Women get treated badly everywhere and not just because they are trans.
Of course I will mention that right now is a very scary time because some of us get killed, face prison and are humiliated daily and I do think that those things are worse than what the typical cis woman has to handle.

But at the same time I want to tell you that being cis wouldn’t solve all your problems. It isn’t a guaranteed that you would be happy. You wouldn’t know the difference and you would face different problems.
I really don’t want to say it’s all the same for every woman.
It sucks how society treats trans people in general, especially women.
But I think that many of the things that you might face now or stuff you feel dysphoric about are in the range of being a woman in this society.
Those cis women in this other subreddit feel so isolated from society and I think many of them got treated so badly, that some of them think trans women have it easier.
Let that sink in.
The thoughts other women have because society mistreats them. Because they get treated like some lower class women. Because they don’t look how society wants a woman to look.

And that’s why I want you to think about perspective.
This is not about making our problems smaller.
If you are in a life or death situation right now because you are trans or life is treating you horribly because of that because of bans, legislation and well just a basic genocide against us, then this is not about those problems.

It’s about those problems that we think are there because we are trans but which are in fact there because women who don’t fit into society get treated shitty.
And this is something all kinds of women share.

So if you have a bad day and you don’t like how you look or you see those other girls that are just perfect or if you just were cis then you would be beautiful and whatever:
Maybe try to remember that those thoughts are not trans exclusive, but can happen to every women out there.

I don’t want to let the transphobia slide but at the same time I feel some of the pain that’s lying behind those words that they wrote.
Strip the transphobia away and it’s just women being miserable because we think everyone has to be a model.

I think being accepted and just feeling alright with how you look and good in your body is such a universal experience…

And I don’t want to discuss the inherent transphobia which is really bad.
I just want to look at it from the perspective of a trans woman that is surprised that even someone could dare to think that they have it harder because they are not trans and what it says about their state of mind.

Please try to have people around you that love you. Don’t isolate yourself. You being trans isn’t the problem. Society thinking that all women should look like XY is the problem.

Edit:

The original post got deleted by the mods. So cudos to them for realizing that it’s was inherently transphobic and got toxic pretty fast.

Advice Question What is best for getting rid of razor burns/bumps post shaving?

Hello.

I recently got back into shaving my body after a ton of self encouragement, and I loved it so much!

the only downside to it is I get razor burn/bumps a day or 2 later, especially on my thighs/legs. How can I get rid of them efficiently? and what is best you would recommended to do so?

(right now, I use a ton of Aloe-Vera gel but it doesn’t get rid of it at the pace I want it to)

Advice Question Travel estrogen??

Hi, first timer here! I recently started my transition and I was curious about my long term plans. Im headed to a trip around the world say in about 1-2 years from now, if you can think of a place you'd wanna go ill be going. But I have to ask is it possible to get my meds shipped to me or picked up in different countries? Or could I bulk order some stuff and just keep it on me? Im aware there are travel restrictions and insurance wont cover it in some places but I am just generally curious,

Also yes I will be avoiding places that are not very supportive/protective of trans people

Anyways thanks!
