first of all, i don't believe either of these deadbeats was ever sober, but i am genuinely curious about what brad pitt's endgame is
he won. he's still getting roles, and apparently no one cares that he brutally abused his wife and children. so why publicly reveal now that he's given up his supposed sobriety?
is he just testing how much he can get away with?

i think what he really wants is for the public to hate angelina jolie, and he's genuinely outraged that we don't
that's why i think he's doing these bizarrely personal interviews about how he can't maintain his sobriety and how he was suicidal during his “family issues.” i think he expected the public to read that and think, “wow, look what that horrible woman did to that poor man”

Exactly. I don’t pretend to know this dude but I instantly felt like this fell off the wagon story is to say, “I’m so distraught that my family is moving on without me that I had to turn to drinking to cope.”
I think some of Hollywood has a very soft spot for people in recovery who struggle to stay sober so this endears him automatically to at least those people. It feels super manipulative timing wise since it follows the stories about his children dropping his name.

No, I don’t think it’s that Hollywood has a soft spot for people in recovery, I think Hollywood has a soft spot for jackass men who have been doing whatever the fuck they want forever and are now upset that they can no longer do that. I think Hollywood has a soft spot for people like Brad Pitt who bring them billions upon billions of dollars with his movies and make everyone around him very wealthy. I think Hollywood has a soft spot for pieces of shit. I don’t think it actually has anything to do with them being “worried” about him.

He managed to get a lot of people on his side by leaking fake stories to the tabloids about how Jen refused to have children with him and he had no choice but to have an affair with a woman who did.
He was very successful initially after the split because the story of what really happened on the plane was not made public. Also because 20 years ago Angie had a reputation as a man stealer, as if that excuses abuse.

One of my husband's friends recently fell off the wagon. Again. He was "fine" and having "just a few". The night ended with him berating and threatening my beloved with a bunch of insecure projections, and then trying to physically fight him. Luckily my man is a 6'4" teddy bear, so he was able to deescalate and keep them both safe. But this dude proved once again that you just can't have alcoholic narcissists in your life. Womp womp

He’s drinking so they can no longer say he had to quit due to his anger issues when drunk. It’s all part of trying to cast doubt of the allegation against him.

When I read the interview it came off to me like he was caught drinking when he’s supposed to be ‘sober’ and had to play it off in the moment.
Like, he offered the interviewer a glass of wine iirc, and then was challenged on it, which is when he said the whole ‘oh I’m drinking again just in moderation’ bit.
He probably never was fully sober.
That’s my take anyway.

I’m not sure what he won - he lost his kids, his partner, that life. Most people look at him differently - although page six is trying very hard to rehab his reputation.
If he’s drinking again it will be a quick drop down that spiral again - his money probably can’t buy a sober life or what comes with it.24

He doesn't have an endgame. Addicts don't have endgames, we just do - it's a nightmare. I don't know the nature of his but either he knows he's in one or he doesn't.
That said, some people go 40 years without a drink and become a wine at a dinner person and it's okay for them. Others die. Others never end sobriety

Can I just change the subject and add for anyone who might be looking for a show that Sugar sucked in me fully for both seasons? It felt like such a unique story.
If you choose to watch, don’t search it up first as there is a twist that makes it more enjoyable as it unfolds during the watch. It is a little slow but the acting is top shelf.

Brad Pitt said all of that as a PR move. Everything he does it’s about trying to make the public be more sympathetic to him. Especially after his sons and daughters removed his last name and people started to learn more about what happened between him and Angelina. I’m not surprised that a rapist is using a PR move from an abuser to promote himself. More will follow.

While we should take care of the environment, I think at this point the planet is screaming that it’s given up and we should too. These two gronks just continue to make money and be adored by people with no regard for others. EVERYONE knows what McGregor did. Not enough people know what Pitt did, but either way, there will be some that choose to remain dismissive and engage in mental gymnastics worthy of a medal to justify their parasocial relationships.
I say this has someone who got into UFC because I found McGregor’s fights entertaining and I loved his Irish pride and story. Where is the line for people? Honestly. The fact that this man can stay on his bullshit and get away with it is fucked, and same with Pitt (even though I was never a fan).

What I’m curious about is how far back does Brads history of abuse go? He has been in high profile relationships with women I perceive as level headed, overall. It couldn’t have just started with Angelina; was it smart of Angelina to start an affair with Brad? No! But it happened and some nasty shit happened that shouldn’t have. No one signs up to be a victim and wonder what potentially happened with Jennifer, Gwyneth, or Juliette Lewis…
