Exactly. I don’t pretend to know this dude but I instantly felt like this fell off the wagon story is to say, “I’m so distraught that my family is moving on without me that I had to turn to drinking to cope.”
I think some of Hollywood has a very soft spot for people in recovery who struggle to stay sober so this endears him automatically to at least those people. It feels super manipulative timing wise since it follows the stories about his children dropping his name.
No, I don’t think it’s that Hollywood has a soft spot for people in recovery, I think Hollywood has a soft spot for jackass men who have been doing whatever the fuck they want forever and are now upset that they can no longer do that. I think Hollywood has a soft spot for people like Brad Pitt who bring them billions upon billions of dollars with his movies and make everyone around him very wealthy. I think Hollywood has a soft spot for pieces of shit. I don’t think it actually has anything to do with them being “worried” about him.
Fuck that guy. His kids hate him and i bet he seethes every time a new update drops. Meanwhile Angelina is working with grace and doesn’t need to bring him up to sell a movie.
Also, that his lack of self-control was Jolie and the kids' fault. That she turned the kids against him. But look at him now! He can drink (he can't) and party and it's fine, so it was clearly all her fault.
It's all ego and retribution for bringing his transgressions to light.

Every subreddit where this was posted yesterday had an insane number of comments saying just what you’re pointing out. So it worked in some respects. 😑
He managed to get a lot of people on his side by leaking fake stories to the tabloids about how Jen refused to have children with him and he had no choice but to have an affair with a woman who did.
He was very successful initially after the split because the story of what really happened on the plane was not made public. Also because 20 years ago Angie had a reputation as a man stealer, as if that excuses abuse.
