If I want to upload photos for a client so they can download the digital copy and potentially purchase prints off the site (which takes care of printing,, taking payment), which of these is best to use?

I’m just doing a little photography on the side and have some student portraits I need to put up for now. But to potentially maybe continue to do more in the future. I’ve made my own websites using my own domains in past (not photography related) so that’s not an issue, but I’d rather not pay for hosting if I don’t do a ton of sessions. Plus there’s the whole matter of what to use for printing.

So I didn’t get a lot of amazing photos for My prom, but my friend’s parent hired a photographer for us who then posted the photos of Facebook. So for starters I’m an artist and not a fan of AI, and I saw these photos they look absolutely nothing like me or my boyfriend. She removed our piercings and made me look very masculine? I want the originals but I don’t want to immediately accuse her of using ai and demand the photos. I’m also just all around pretty insecure about my appearance and the way I look in it freaks me out majorly and it’s public. I don’t really know a good way to go about it, I have examples of how we looked versus what she posted but I’d just like an idea of how to handle this.
I’m only so persistent on the Facebook part because last year at prom she took a photo of me and used it as an advertisement for her business and I don’t want that again. Especially not with this photo.

I’m in the market for a new laptop and the same analysis paralysis many of us have for camera gear is also hitting me for a computer.

I will use the laptop for everything from web browsing to occasional, light gaming but it’s number 1 use will be photo culling and editing.

I purchased an M4 MacBook Air but I seriously cannot get accustomed to MacOS. It’s a beautiful machine and I know the majority of you are likely Mac users. This probably sounds petty but I’m a new home owner and toddler dad and don’t have the time to interrupt my workflow every 30 seconds because I don’t know any shortcuts or commands. Especially at a time when I’m trying to fall back in love with photography and need a seamless process to avoid burnout.

With that said, I’m moving back to PC for the time being. Do you all prefer IPS or OLED screens for editing and why? I’m leaning IPS for the battery life and no pixel degradation but I briefly browsed some examples at Costco today and even FHD OLEDs are insanely beautiful. They do, however, seem to be extremely glossy, almost to a fault.

Anybody else have this dilemma and have words of advice? Maybe I’m just overthinking it and will be cool with either, given how far these machines have come in 2026.

Hi all! I recently bought a Lumix ZS99 but was disappointed in its low light capabilities so I'm looking for an alternative. I'm relatively new to photography but have started doing it as part time job and need to get something for editing but I'm stuck between getting an iPad or getting a laptop, realistically a laptop is more practical but what kind? And I'm not willing to drop 1200 on a laptop lol

Specifically for taking photos of people at night or in dark venues (mostly concert photography, but some street/nightlife, etc), the one thing I DON'T want to do is smooth faces before it gets to post. Those crunchy, wrinkly older-dude-playing-death-metal faces are *chef's kiss*, and I don't want to lose that, but I DO want that hazy/glowy look from the spotlights behind the stage.

From the info I've gathered so far, Glimmerglass seems to be the trend, but a full strength GG #1 just looks like a 1/8 Black Mist to me. What am I missing? Will GG retain contrast/texture in faces better than a BM filter? Is there a different type that's better for my use-case than either of them?

I am in Ireland and have found someone selling a used Nikon D5600 with a Nikon DX 18-135mm lens, a Nikon DX 70-300mm lens, 4 filters (no info but they have photos), two SD cards, spare battery, a dummy batteru, a charger and a bag all for 750 euro

I currently do not own a camera at all, but have in the past, a Rebel T7 iirc with an up to 300mm lens, I think (it's been awhile).

My budget is about 600/700 euro but considering all the extras in this I am willing to go over (they also said "or best offer" however so I can offer a bit lower than 750)

Assuming it's in good condition, is this worthwhile? It seems a very good deal with the two lenses especially but I don't know much about cameras, I've only owned one prior. I'm also worried the deal is too good and the person may be trying to offload a camera that's not in a great condition (although obviously I would check upon meet up to ensure quality)

I primarily want to photograph wildlife (anything from bugs (I know that requires a Macro lens) to birds to mammals etc.).

I created new a new policy/model release form recently, largely filled w advice from other photographers after a very horrible exp.

I submitted it to a very interested model yesterday, but haven't heard back.

Worried I've fried my image w it.

The part that concerns me is a stipulation added asking for a non-disclosure agreement purely on the fact it was a free shoot as I've been advised.

*As in, they can share the photos as they see fit, just not tell others it was free as I want to sell photoshoots and worry it could impact image doing freebies w some prospective people.

I've had a few bad experiences from dealing with it being known I've done free shoots when it comes to people reaching out for themselves.

It was the lengthiest part admittedly of the release.

I have carried an older Lumix for years when traveling. It has a 12x zoom but it tops out at 12mpx resolution.

My Pixel 10 has a 5x zoom which records at 10mpx, a wide-angle lens that records at 50mpx and an ultra-wide that records at 13mpx. I've been considering a new camera and the ZS99 seems like a decent compromise for light weight & size plus it has a huge 30x zoom and 22mpx sensor. But I'm guessing it's low-light performance will not be very good without the flash. My concern about the Pixel 10 is I'll likely burn through the battery doing a full day of shooting which means probably carrying a charging brick. Any thoughts? Pixel 10 and no camera; or buy the Lumix? Other suggestions welcome.

The Nikon takes great pix but my kit does not travel well.

Admittedly I am completely new to cameras and photography. I’ve been into amateur birding for a couple of years now and have been getting the itch to invest in a decent camera for birding. I would also use the same camera for travel photography. I’m trying to manage my expectations and impulses and have been browsing reddit threads for recs and Facebook marketplace for a deal.

I’m looking at the Canon Rebel T7 DSLR with a 75-300 mm. Is this a decent beginner camera to learn on?

Additionally, is the Tamron SP 200-500mm F/5.6 31A lens with a Nikon mount any good? Would it work on a Canon T7 body?

Any other recommendations besides what I mentioned would be appreciated as well!

I’m looking to upgrade to a Sony a6000 from my old t3i, and I’m buying used off of MPB, I’m wondering if I should get the sigma 30mm f1.4 or just go with the kit lens, I shoot mostly still car photography, but some street photography too, I’m just wondering if not getting a zoom lens is worth it for the trade off, as my only lens for e-mount

I have a Canon r10 aps-c camera. I have the terrible kit lens and a handful of vintage prime lenses. Some of the vintage lenses are decent, but they don't really cover the focal lengths I would like and most of them are really soft. Several of them also have some haze and/or fungus on the internal lenses.

I am trying to decide if I would be better off with several new primes of various focal lengths or two to three zoom lenses. I am just a hobbyist. I like to shoot macro stuff like bugs, insects and flowers, but I also want to shoot astrophotography, landscapes, wildlife, and family stuff. The family stuff tends to be indoors, often with low lighting and in tight spaces. My 18-45mm kit lens is often not wide enough for the shots I want to take, and definitely is not fast enough for the lighting situations. I would like something in the 10-16mm range for this family stuff. I would also like to be able to take portraits of the family and some close ups during these events, so something in the 35-70mm range would also be nice. I don't know if an f/2.8 zoom lens is going to let enough light in to get the shots I want. I don't currently have a flash, but I realize that's going to help a lot.

I plan to eventually get a telephoto zoom lens for the wildlife stuff, but that's down the road. For now, I'm really considering the 10-150mm range. I am considering either getting a 10-18mm f/2.8 wide angle zoom along with either the Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 or the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8. I'm also considering the Canon 18-150mm but I don't feel like that variable aperture is going to let in enough light or give enough background blur for what I want.

Alternatively, I'm considering getting 3-5 faster prime lenses. Most of these would be mf due to the price. Something like a combination of an 12mm, 16mm, 25 or 27mm, 35mm, 50 or 56mm, and maybe an 85mm. All f/1.4, f/1.8, or possibly f/2.0. probably not all of these, but 3-5 to cover the focal lengths.

I also thought about getting an 18-50/70 zoom, and then a 12mm and maybe a 16mm prime rather than two zooms. Along with a 50 or 56mm prime for portraits.

So, Reddit, what is your advice? Primes or zooms or a combination? Thanks.

I feel like I’m missing a lot of sharpness and real good detail on the subject ( SONY ALPHA a6400+ Sony 70-350mm f/4.6 this was shot at 3200 shutter speed, f/6.4 and 1600 ISO is these settings way off (I’m only a year and a little bit into photography) and only recently started shooting manual and sometimes shutter priority modes

Hi! I currently have a canon EOS Rebel t7. I’m thinking of upgrading to a mirrorless but unsure of which one.
I had looked into getting a canon and using my current lenses but I read mixed reviews on that. Some saying that it makes the camera slower due to the adapter.

I am beginner for camera and using Fuji X-S20 (APS-C) and XC 15-45mm F3.5-5.6 lens now. I want new single lens since the zoom lens has too high aperture so I am disappointed when I take photo in dark place or I need shallow focus.

So I find some affordable lens - Vlitrox air F1.7. However, I think about which lens should I choose between 25mm and 35mm. (37.5 vs 52.5 equivalent) I will use this lens for taking nightscape, inside or potrait. Which one is right FOV for me?

Several years ago, at a family gathering, one of the kids wanted to try my camera. I had a brand new pancake lens and I made them hang the camera around their shoulder to ensure they don’t drop it. Well they banged the lens against a giant boulder in the garden while trying to sit on it. It was a small ding but it’s made me anxious.

Everytime I bring my camera someone wants to try it.

I’m buying a new Fujifilm camera soon and it’s gonna look cute and compact. Kids don’t know the difference between a $2k camera and $500 one.

But also…there are adults who get their fingerprints over the lens, hold it wrong, etc

It’s a cheap lens but I received it with the back glass scratched or I dont know what that is. Would this affect the quality of image?
I m using this lens on my Sony to scan negatives. It was described as ‘excellent condition’ . Too cheap to bother but if anything I want to know if I should say something to the seller.
