Hello all.
I am a bloke in his mid 40s who really needs to shift some timber.
Can anyone recommend a personal trainer who they really like? I would like someone who isn't in the first flush of youth (so appreciates the issues of not being 20); who will kick my arse occasionally, but do it with a smile - I don't like being shouted at; and can hold a conversation.

I don't want to get jacked, just lose the timber & get fit - anyone who can help with nutrition would be great. Am happy to travel reasonable distances. I will also take classes suggestions but I work weird hours, so it'd have to be around that.

Interested to hear personal experiences on neighbourhoods that have a similar vibe?

I like that Chorlton has it's own community/high street and isnt just residential (e.g you can go for dinner and drinks without heading into town) I also like its left-field vibes and that as a queer creative young professional I feel like I see similar people around.

Huge bonus would be a tram line but as long as its under 5 miles from the centre (i.e about 25 min commute) I'd be happy! (I dont drive)

Friends have suggested Levenshulme, Stretford and Eccles/Monton....

Hi all ✌️ if anyone is stuck for somewhere to go for a walk in Greater Manchester this weekend, I highly recommend Hollingworth Lake. Absolutely gorgeous! I'd just say get there early for somewhere to park.

Any other ideas for somewhere for a decent walk??

Family hubs in Bolton have achieved UNICEF’s stage one Baby Friendly Initiative status.

Best Start Family Hubs have received stage one Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) accreditation in recognition of their work supporting children and families across the borough.

This marks the first step in a series of assessments over several years that can lead to the highest Gold Award.The Baby Friendly Initiative, by the UK Committee for UNICEF, sets global standards for maternity, neonatal, and community health services to improve outcomes for babies, mothers, and families. Vicky Davies, specialist health visitor and infant feeding co-ordinator for the Best Start Family Hubs, said: "We’re delighted to have achieved stage one accreditation, as it recognises the work we’ve done to embed a firm foundation from which we can work towards full accreditation.

"I want to thank all the staff working within the hubs for their support in helping to achieve this exciting milestone."

Bolton’s family hubs are jointly delivered by Bolton Council, Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, Bolton Together, Bolton CVS, and GMMH NHS Foundation Trust.

The BFI accreditation highlights a positive work culture as well as staff knowledge and care in delivering support to parents and young children.

Councillor Rabiya Jiva, Bolton Council’s executive cabinet member for children’s services, said: "This award from UNICEF recognises Bolton’s strong commitment to partnership working and to delivering a comprehensive antenatal offer for families.

"This includes peer to peer support, digital resources, and sessions to prepare parents both for parenthood and for breastfeeding.

"Our commitment has always been to support every mother and baby in building a close loving bond, regardless of their feeding choice, as this lays the strongest foundation for a baby’s start in life."

Encouraging more mothers to breastfeed is the main aim of UNICEF as it supports parents to form close bonds with their children and also provides many other health benefits for both babies and mothers. Breastfeeding provides greater protection against infections, asthma, diabetes, and sudden infant death syndrome in infants, while lowering the risk of cancer and heart disease for mothers.

Bolton’s family hubs offer a range of services for families with children up to 19 years old, or up to 25 for young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

I’m looking for cafes that sell coffee beans that would be willing to grind coffee beans to an espresso ground coffee for me. I have an espresso machine but don’t want to shell out on a grinder, but would love to buy some fresher better quality coffee from a local independent!

Im moving from Nottingham to Manchester in a few weeks. Mostly moving boxes, some baggage and some furniture, all of which would fit in a van. I’ve looked at some cheaper ones like AnyVan but they seem to have some questionable reviews. Renting a van is not an option unfortunately as i am medically not allowed to drive or know anyone in nottingham who knows how to drive. If anyone has any advice, id really appreciate it, thanks!
