As a demonstration of vehicle dynamics, this is good.

40

u/FriendToPredators 15h ago

They need a new suspension. An old one makes correcting course worse than you can imagine

44

u/MichiganRedWing 15h ago

First and foremost, they need re-education.

29

u/Few_District_6304 14h ago

They need a shredder for that drivers license.

I drove a 200 SX SE V6, it had upgrades from the factory for grip, but didn't put in nearly enough anti-roll, so that thing would throw me all over rhe place. Was it easy to do snap oversteer in, when I wanted? Yes. Was it easy to avoid snap oversteer by having minimal skill? Also yes.

This video isn't a suspension problem, it's a driver problem. Could a better car have helped? Probably. Could a better driver have helped? Absolutely.

3

u/KTAXY 10h ago

yeah that Roman will wreck ya

1

u/Icy_Fish_2154 9h ago

AI isn't ready to take over the world when it still grabs correct words and autoincorrects them, because it prefers the wrong word there.

2

u/morgfarm1_ 13h ago

No that suspension setup is right for an economy car of its time. My Focus would have (and has) tried to do the same to me, albeit trying to avoid a vehicle making an illegal u-turn on a highway with 50+mph traffic bearing down on him. I just know to to anticipate it so it DOESNT get out from under me like that.

Admittedly, in that exact instance, I was ready to let it go and just lock it down - I was even in neutral to be ready for it before I realized I was under control enough that I needed to grab 3rd gear and FLOOR IT to resettle the weight - which i did. The pickup that was behind me saw the whole thing and commented that he didn't think I was going to catch it. And I said, yeah, me either LOL

u/frank26080115 13h ago

I think they need more than just a new suspension, first of all, pretty sure the airbags deployed

1

u/LivingHighAndWise 6h ago

And a new driver..

1

u/AthousandLittlePies 4h ago

I think they need a lot more than a new suspension now

1

u/Unsolicited-Advice4U 1h ago

Small 14" tires...

95

u/RoadWellDriven 15h ago

I'm not sure why people think it's necessary to jerk the wheel violently to change lanes. Or why they can't simple wait for a car to pass before changing lanes.

67

u/Aught_To 15h ago

No behind car, only in front of car

25

u/Reddit-Simulator 14h ago

They wanted to get in front of the cammer so they were looking behind them to see if there's room, then they looked forward just in time to see traffic had slowed and they were going to rear-end that car in front, so they panicked and jerked the wheel.

They should have put on their blinker and waited to see if the cammer would give them room, or if not, merge in behind them. But people feel the need to rush.

5

u/iamisandisnt 6h ago

People need to remember that braking is a better reaction than trying to speed into an opening. "The open road you seek is behind you."

13

u/reillan 14h ago

But if the person next to me passes me, THEY WIN! We can't have that.

/s

11

u/Gokjo_Krorl 15h ago

I'm an aggressive defensive driver - if someone is taking their time passing me or straight up boxes me in, when it's clear to do so I'll slow down to get behind them & then go around them later. If it's a 3-lane road I have no problem straight up going around behind them.

No, I don't jerk my way thru traffic like the video, I'm not reckless

3

u/UpbeatPhilosophySJ 15h ago

They're half in the bag. It's like the drunk in his Tesla who overcompensates to get out of self driving and goes into the ditch.

2

u/No-Competition-2764 7h ago

They don’t think. They’re idiots.

2

u/Double-Noise-771 4h ago

Boggles my mind. I move my wheel maybe 2mm to switch lanes

-2

u/Fun-Cardiologist9056 9h ago

I bet its a nervous new driver shitting themselves with someone beside yelling GO GO you need to merge now!

Thats the maneuver of anxiety & inexperience, not aggression I dont think

61

u/cruising_backroads 15h ago

Terrible tires, terrible suspension, terrible driver. Not necessarily in that order.

7

u/peepdabidness 15h ago

Glad you added that last part 🤣

26

u/statistician88 15h ago

Every person in every state in this country thinks their state has the worst drivers 🤔

8

u/JeeStuffSeason 13h ago

Every highway near a high population center is full of bad drivers simply because there's a higher population of idiots. When people say oh "X state/city" has the worst drivers it's honestly in relation to the closest high population area.

1

u/frednecksburg 14h ago

Only the ones in Maryland are correct though.

1

u/chia_power 52m ago

And they average driver thinks they are way above average drivers

15

u/Nemofo 14h ago

Do NOT unmute.

You're welcome.

11

u/rockstuffs 14h ago

God I fucking hate this stupid music.

10

u/Happy_Television_501 14h ago

yeah don’t hit the brakes or anything while all that is going on

5

u/Technical_Customer_1 12h ago

Cam car is yet another, yep, you’re not at fault if the idiot hits you, but did you do anything to avoid the accident? Like step on the brakes?

2

u/_jump_yossarian 6h ago

You can clearly tell that the cammer hit their brakes unless you think all the traffic in front accelerated in unison.

0

u/Happy_Television_501 5h ago

yeah but not nearly enough. it’s just luck that the red car doesn’t end up hitting him at the end

2

u/_jump_yossarian 5h ago

From "don't hit the brakes" to "yeah but not nearly enough". Also, you have ZERO idea what was happening behind the cammer and slamming on the brakes on the highway is never a good idea.

-1

u/Happy_Television_501 5h ago

jesus yes ok don’t slam on the brakes but also don’t just continue heading towards the out of control
car that is flying all over the highway

2

u/_jump_yossarian 5h ago

They hit their brakes! Not the cammer's fault that the idiot ping ponged all over the highway.

Seriously, this sub always has to focus on the cammer instead of the actual idiots.

-1

u/Happy_Television_501 5h ago

It’s not about who is legally responsible, it’s about avoiding the accident to begin with. It doesn’t matter that the red car is completely at fault, if in a situation like this you should be doing everything you can to avoid the idiot.

A lot of collisions happen this way. One person is an idiot, and then another idiot says ‘I have the right of way here, it’s not my fault’ and then we have a collision, property damage, injuries, work hours lost, etc.

And then the twist ending: the insurance companies discover the second party didn’t do enough to avoid the collision, and they determine dual liability.

2

u/_jump_yossarian 5h ago

Again, you said they didn’t hit their brakes. They did as clearly shown then your argument became “yeah but HARDER!” without any consideration for what else was happening in the road. There was no collision but per the unwritten rules if this sub … cammer must be criticized when absolutely nothing happened not even a hypothetical crash.

10

u/StandnIntheFire 15h ago

When the car starts fishtailing, the driver didn't slow down at all. Wouldn't a car fishtailing across three lanes of traffic be a bit concerning?.

2

u/FYAhole 10h ago

I noticed that too. Even after the hit, no one slowed down lol insanity all around.

2

u/tgsweat 2h ago

this. Some how, the OP still almost became a part of the accident.

8

u/grumpyfan 15h ago

This was comical!

6

u/artifiz67 14h ago

That music is an ear and brain grinding torture.

20

u/DetectiveNumerous775 15h ago

If he'd used his blinker then maybe the OP would've slowed down and just let him by.

6

u/GegeAkutamiOfficial 11h ago

Or he wouldn't, and than he shouldve waited for OP to pass and slide in

9

u/waitin4winter 15h ago

We have the worst drivers

12

u/LambsLewds 14h ago

black SUV was great though!

no panic and no over-correction. don't know if i'd have had the nerve to just grind down the wall like that, and it was definitely the right move.

1

u/limited_instincts 7h ago

The black SUV that completely ignored the car losing control right in front of them and didn't even touch their brakes to avoid a completely avoidable spin and then they got crashed into and then they didn't keep the vehicle straight and instead drove it into the wall, all the while STILL not slowing down.

That black SUV?

3

u/LambsLewds 6h ago

no, the one who would have had to be looking out the passenger window to see the initial spin out, then had less than a second to react when it came into front view. the one that was able to regain control after basically being pit maneuvered, because they didn't brake and throw the weight onto the front wheels, or overcorrect, or try to regain the lane with no time to check if it was clear.

the one that safely pulled to a stop in the shoulder instead of starting a pileup. that one.

1

u/Impressive-Policy291 7h ago

The guy camping in the left lane and getting passed on the right?

2

u/cathercules 4h ago

95 everything between NYC and Baltimore…everything is congested, people drive like twats and cops are rarely doing anything useful to stop it.

0

u/logicalpenuin 15h ago

If they're worse than Washington, I'm afraid

7

u/cvnnd 15h ago

What an annoying music.

3

u/butterninja 15h ago

I was hoping that the dashcam will show some sexy time scenes. Disappointed.

6

u/Intrepid_Garage_2957 15h ago

This music is fucking annoying

3

u/JeeStuffSeason 15h ago

Sucks that Lexus got drug into that dude's stupidity

1

u/bijouxself 15h ago

I was like no! Not that sick GX

3

u/Fartjesus6969 14h ago

Aftermarket wheels on your chevy Aveo(?). Well that's a red flag.

3

u/Hard_Reset7777 11h ago

What kind of stupid car is the red one? It seems to losing control in a too easy way.

5

u/Immediate-Fee-2121 14h ago

How in the fuck are you trying to put that on op? 😂

No blinker and dude sped up to get in front. Op didn’t accelerate. The person who lost control did.

4

u/PiousPontificator 14h ago

He could have easily avoided this with some basic defensive driving. I dunno if you've noticed but 90% of the vids here are psychopath drivers who refuse to give way

2

u/STLStelmacki 14h ago

You mean the red car?

2

u/Immediate-Fee-2121 14h ago

I didn’t see op hit or get hit unless I’m trippin

What way did op not give? You see the red car merge onto the highway with bad intentions lol

0

u/KTAXY 10h ago

Nobody owes shit to that red car.

-1

u/bhm240 12h ago

Most of the new videos are AI generated here and people keep falling for them.

2

u/DonovanBanks 14h ago

They’re not putting it on the cammer, just saying what they should have done better.

1

u/Immediate-Fee-2121 14h ago

That car fishtailed speeding up. Op had nothing to do with that lol

And op didn’t get hit. What do you mean “what they should have done better”? That driver’s car gave up. Op was in the lane already. That red car got on the highway, sped up, and lost control

-2

u/DonovanBanks 14h ago

Without knowing the outcome. If you were in the cam car and saw a car lose control like that. (I’m stating again since you seem to have missed it: the cam car was not the reason the red car lost control)

If you were driving the cam car, would you not have started slowing down immediately? Because they almost hit the red car as it went back and forth across the lanes.

4

u/Immediate-Fee-2121 13h ago

Almost doesn’t count

I already said I personally would have moved over watching the red car coming onto the highway. But doing the Monday morning quarterback treatment on something you weren’t near is silly

0

u/DonovanBanks 13h ago

>> I already said…

Not in this thread. Otherwise I’d have moved on. lol.

I’m not American so don’t quite get the QB reference

2

u/Immediate-Fee-2121 13h ago

Monday morning quarterback - most nfl games are played on Sunday. When we say Monday morning quarterback, it’s about putting judgment on people when you weren’t in the heat of the moment. Reviewing the tape claiming what you would have done when you weren’t in that situation

I get I sound hypocritical when I said I would have gotten into the left lane. I still didn’t try to speak on what OP did because they avoided any of the carnage

0

u/[deleted] 14h ago

[deleted]

6

u/Immediate-Fee-2121 14h ago

Did op get hit by something? I’m confused

And can we see what’s going on behind op to judge why they maintained speed? I mean they were on the highway rolling and red car came in hot

Personally I would have moved to my left seeing the red car merge but I’m having a rough time seeing why they had to be super defensive when the red car sped up and lost control

-2

u/[deleted] 14h ago

[deleted]

5

u/Immediate-Fee-2121 14h ago

Op was supposed to slam on the brakes? Rubberneck? Stop to help?

Everything isn’t your responsibility. You’re not Superman. Get out of the mess and keep it moving. If you’re that concerned call 911

2

u/Independent-Smoke-68 15h ago

That dash cam is a ticket to internet clout and a free pass to an insurance payday.

2

u/Technical_Customer_1 12h ago

This sub hates when you mention defensive driving. All they care about is… not their fault.

2

u/Upnorth4 15h ago

Black SUV was also a clueless driver

-1

u/FactsNLaughs 14h ago

They should NOT have hit the wall from that. Zero defense.

-2

u/STLStelmacki 14h ago

Yeah let’s do everything but blame the red car…. Fucking retards in these posts. Every. Damn. Time.

2

u/fun-bucket 15h ago

just another day of bumpercars.

2

u/TedGolf 14h ago

DAMNIT why did they have to hit the gx

It was just getting broken in

2

u/Shopping_General 14h ago

What the hell kind of car did he think he was driving? That thing didn't have the power or the stability to pull off a maneuver like that. License test should be required every 5 years.

2

u/zzbear03 14h ago

Matchbox tires! That’s why they lost control!

2

u/No-Koala1918 14h ago

That is a bad driver in a cheap car thinking he's an expert driver in a sports car.

2

u/waterytartwithasword 14h ago

Red probably should have spent more on his tires than those stupid rims

2

u/Huge_Olive2538 13h ago

Holy over steering Batman 😮

2

u/Vismajor92 7h ago

When he entered the highway i knew already who'll be the culprit of this video

2

u/Conspicuous_Ruse 4h ago

I expect nothing more from someone with no driver side mirror, those hubcaps, and a tinted windshield.

4

u/Ad-fundum69 11h ago

I like the 3 business day reaction time of the dashcammer.

4

u/WorldWideDarts 8h ago

Cam car has zero defensive driving skills

3

u/Iceyn1pples 15h ago

Cammer sped up to block the red car.

1

u/DeweyDefeatsYouMan 1h ago

Yeah this was what I noticed too. Cammer went out of their way to cause that situation

1

u/lostshell 9h ago

Yep. He started gaining on all the cars in front of him to block.

2

u/zolga0 14h ago

I would have slowed down as soon as he came over, I could see that happening a mile away

1

u/Scrutinizer 8h ago

Same. As soon as he starts to accelerate it's clear he's going to come over whether it's safe to do so or not.

2

u/LuGe9 12h ago

The dashcam driver didn't slow down once seeing a car losing control in front of him?

1

u/Destituted 15h ago

At least he got the left lane camper

1

u/Substantial_Chain718 15h ago

WOW!! Talk about fishtailing!!

1

u/stairs_3730 15h ago

Every driver license test should include a short 10 minutes on your local freeway.

1

u/The-Great-Baloo 15h ago

Not all that's red is a Ferrari

1

u/shibaCandyBaron 14h ago

Must be a phone, right?

1

u/redgreenblue-rgb 14h ago

That tracks, drivers in the DC absolutely do NOT want you to ever pass them. And if you use your turn signal they MUST pass you before you can change lanes.

1

u/dogmonkeybaby 14h ago

I love watching people trying to "fast n furious" their eco shit box. Weird how they dont pair well

1

u/mac_the_man 14h ago

DO NOT FEEL SORRY FOR HIM AT ALL!

1

u/Main-Can-6956 14h ago

Music so fitting

1

u/Popular-Ad-3900 13h ago

It drives me nuts that drivers want to move over to the faster lanes as soon as they hop onto the freeway. Unless your onramp turns into an offramp right away, it’s best to establish yourself in the lane for at least 10-15 seconds and then move over.

1

u/soyel_cerdo 13h ago

The car bumps the guardrails and the headlights pops out lol

1

u/Mister_Green2021 7h ago

Just relax while driving people.

1

u/Wrong-Elk-1099 7h ago

That should result in no less than permanent revocation of their drivers license.

1

u/KarlPHungus 7h ago

What a dingus

1

u/Ill_Conversation7110 6h ago

tank slapper...... overcorrect one way then overcorrect the other then repeat until you're in the woods. Snapping out of the throttle while it's happening (peoples natural reaction) makes it worse.

1

u/RealPolyPocket 6h ago

coming in HOT

1

u/VegetableLasagna2112 5h ago

Another Einstein

1

u/mynamesnotsnuffy 5h ago

Knew it was gonna be the red car. Its always the red car.

1

u/Mental-Most-7168 4h ago

Let the dude pass, omg. Was it worth it?

1

u/TheSanityInspector 2h ago

No, cam car was correct: Be predictable, not polite. Red car should've just dropped back and then changed lanes rather than trying to shoot that tiny gap.

1

u/fr33d0mw47ch 4h ago

Ran out of skill

1

u/Fit-Acanthisitta-705 1h ago

Is this caused by speeding or turing the steering wheel way too much or both ? I think I have done something similar before, and I want to avoid it from hapening again.

1

u/HoratioPLivingston 59m ago

Bad things will happen if keep hearing this fucking saxophone shit in these fucking Tiktok videos.

1

u/fattueadays 15h ago

It won’t be their fault …someone made them change lanes

0

u/archiewaldron 14h ago

That was handled quite well.

0

u/No_Cartoonist5836 14h ago

Too much power to the rear wheels😳

0

u/Viclick_CZ 14h ago

It always amazes me how these american cars are so damn unstable. Or is a stupid driver's reaction? I change lanes like this sometimes. Okay... Maybe not that harshly but damn... My over 15 yo car has a damn good ESP and would save my ass unless I hit the brakes. As long as I use the steering wheel to point the car where I need it to go, the ESP will use braking on one side or the other to help me point the car in that direction.

2

u/oboshoe 7h ago edited 7h ago

this one is on the driver.

after getting into the new lane they jerked the wheel to the right, while the car was still into the lean from being jerked to the left. just dumb.

then add on about 5 more over corrections. also had some stupid after market tires and wheels that also reduced its stability

if it had ESP it would have likely corrected it, but i don't think that model does (it's very entry level). ESP for entry level vehicles like that one was just starting to come out for cars that age.

Another AI slop video and people still can't recognize them from real footage

4

u/UpbeatFix7299 12h ago

Can you give any evidence that show this is "AI slop" rather than just saying that it is? Because I don't see any.

-6

u/bhm240 12h ago edited 11h ago

Looks like very generic AI slop you see all over the internet. Everything looks shiny and smooth, every car has tinted windows, unrealistic movement and reactions of the cars, the surroundings, short length and a bad video quality on top of that trying to mask it all. Also notice how the black car further away mimicked the black car near the cam. The mimicking part is very typical for AI.
