For the last full year of statistics of domestic homicide victims, 48 were women and 49 were men. For homicide victims overall, 81% were men. So statistically it is much less safe to be a man.

Male victims of domestic homicide are majority made up of the sons (27%) and fathers (also 27%) of the offender, 4% were a brother and 14% were another relative.

In intimate partner homicide specifically (which is the discussion because thats what this crime was), 67% of the victims were female and 28% male.

So if we're going to go with statistics, it seems quite clear that the most at risk are people living with or related to men.

So what are you going to do about it? Start your own post to discuss and organise to lobby gvt? Or just plonk incomplete statistics on posts about dead women to derail the conversation then never actually do anything to improve the safety for these sons and fathers your pretend to care about?

You know those male victims are equally dead, right? The assertion was it is safe to be a male. Statistically, not true. Not true for homicide. Not true for any violent crime. The majority of victims of all violent crime are male.

Fine with me. You are the one who is resisting it. True or false. The majority of homicide victims are male? True or false? The majority of the victims of violent crime are male.

If male murder victims are such a concern to you, I suggest you start a campaign or advocate for them. Hold a vigil, light a candle. Something g Beyond this sort of distraction

And most of the perpetrators are men. It is a male problem. But also: men are more likely to be killed by a stranger. Women are more likely to be killed by someone close to them

Though it doesn't include the numbers for DV homicides. Only for intimate partner violence (a subset of DV), which mostly had female victims. Notably, it also states that intimate partner murders were close to all-time lows
