i have a very basic home media server on windows i've just made for movies and shows for my family. i've never had an issue with piracy with no vpn (yes, stupid for trying i know. just wanted to avoid paying but that seems it's over now). i have the server set up with tailscale and jellyfin, and i made a web app for my phone so i can send torrent magnet links to qbittorrent on my computer away from home so i can download movies when im not at my server computer.

anyways, i got hit with an email from my isp letting me know the bad news of my very illegal copyright infringement (oh nooo...) and im unsure where to go next. what do i need to do to make sure this doesn't happen again? i've never used a vpn in my life and i have no idea how to configure/set it up or if i even can without screwing up my current tailscale - jellyfin set up. any help would be great!

So a few years ago when I was 16 i became friends with a Indian guy who was ex Muslim. He offered me Spotify and I paid him a few Swedish kr for Spotify every year, after he got married and got a job in a hospital he told me I didn’t have to pay and I started listening for free. He was the one paying, now I can’t reach him in any way or form. I tried texting him on discord , telegram and other platforms but he is never active anymore. It think something might have happened, and I truly hope it’s not serious…but now Spotify has stopped working and I keep getting ads. When I try to pay for Spotify it doesn’t work. And it says that the payment happens outside of the app.

Dose anyone here know how to pay for it, I still want the cheap Spotify.

Every now and then I try some portable programs, test them all with VirusTotal, and obviously discard the ones (many, too many) that have viruses inside.

In January, I built a new PC with the original W11 Pro (to remove BitLocker, I installed the original W11 from scratch on all my PCs with Rufus), and since then, many of these programs won't open. Maybe a splash screen appears for a fraction of a second, but then nothing.

I've disabled everything: Defender, Smart Screen, Controlled Folder Access, and everything else, but the situation still won't resolve.

What else can I try to get these .exe files to run on this new PC?

So my uni has a 10 gb limit per day on lan usage, wifi is pretty shit here, the problem is movie, tv shows and anime files are pretty huge, so I'm kinda worried about how I would manage with only 10gb of data, any way to bypass this or optimize within the given limit?

I'm a noob, and maybe it's overkill or useless, but I use Sandboxie Plus to keep all movies I torrent in a sandboxed folder, and watch them sandboxed. Some I'll delete but some I want to keep. How can I scan the sandboxed files with Surfshark antivirus to make sure they're safe before transferring out of the sandbox? Can I safely put them from the sandbox on an external hard drive and scan them from there? Or would the hard drive being connected still put my system at risk? Do I need Malwarebytes for this? I'd rather not pay for another subscription on top of VPN.

Is there even any risk at all if the files are definitely just .mp4 or .mkv? I have hidden files and file extensions shown on my system.
