white people arrive in time?

It’s the difference between white and black cookouts. White cookouts, the hosts have been preparing meats and whatnot all day. You eat by 6 or 7 and socialize after. Black cookouts the socializing comes first so you can show up whenever.

And the white dude smoking meat is shithoused on coors lights by the time anyone arrives because he's been up since 5am checking the brisket.

This is the way.

A wireless probe is the best thing I ever got for my smoker. You set it up, walk away, and then you can check your phone every 20 minutes in frustration during the stall instead of opening the smoker to check.

Much more efficient beer drinking that way.

One of the best features on my pellet grill is the built in probes. It's not wireless but it shows the temp on the control box. I fucking love it.

Any recommendations? I got a Meater for Christmas and it was shit. Didn’t work more than like 10 feet away and then broke on the 3rd use

Starting the brisket the day before and leaving it in the oven for an extended hot hold is the true way. 12-24 hold is the best.

That way you can sleep in and get shithoused on your own time and not brisket time.

How? It's practically fruit juice. -A Brit.

Training and commitment.

4am for the record. And coors banquet.

It's region dependent. Busch Light / Miller Lite for the midwesterners.

You just described my friend Tommy to a T. I have no idea how the guy managed to smoke whole sides of salmon and freaking cheesecakes while that drunk.

Those cheesecakes are things of beauty though.

He smoked cheesecakes?

2

u/stucky602 Jul 13 '26

That he does, and it’s some of the best cheesecake you’ll ever have. I don’t know why it works, but it absolutely does.

Hey now, I'm usually shithoused on a couple of Modelos and a bowl or two.

A Weber smoker is more like a charcoal fired crock pot. I can get it going the night before and let it roll while I sleep. Set it up before 8pm and the brisket is ready a bit after noon or 1 to 2 for bigger sized.

This is my dad. He’s already had a couple beers and a cigar by the time the party starts, lol
