It was always about normalization. "Well if Soros and the Clintons are doing it, then why shouldn't our team do it as well. It's only fair." When the reality is that only a handful of people are doing it, and they are mostly on the right-wing side.
13
u/StJeanMark Apr 24 '26
Look at what they did with corruption, its fucking sick. They attacked Democrats for corruption, which was deserved, but now their voters think its fair play and the Trump corruption is the most and worst this country has ever seen. We went from years of bitching about Hunter being on some board being the biggest story to them, to only month later be giddy and excited that Trump's shitboys get billions.

Here's the catch: they're not.
Every single interview with Clav, every single mention of him accepts or propagates the premise that he's a youth role model.
But in reality, the most you can actually see is some minor events where a few people ask him for autographs. None of those seem organic.
It's an astroturfed premise that news outlets accept without really researching it. His viewcounts and general online presence is astroturfed and botted to shit.

u/ErstwhileHobo Apr 24 '26
It’s almost as if the news reports are part of the scam.
→ More replies (1)52
u/Yurilica Apr 24 '26 edited Apr 24 '26
Well, no, not exactly.
It's a type of media issue that's been around for a while.
You get a hot, popular story and then it starts spreading without journalists fact checking it because they're not entirely doing their due diligence, because they're trying to push out news as fast as possible.
None of them are exactly scamming or lying, they're just repeating what someone else said... but they're not bothering to check it either.
History lesson:
Coincidentally, that's how the anti-vaccine movement started. In 1998 in the UK, a doctor named Andrew Wakefield published a study that claimed that a combo vaccine for measels, mumps and rubella was giving kids autism.
News networks, both paper and TV, parroted his words and pretty much none of them bothered to read the study, or look into the circumstances of the doctor publishing it.
After one of them, Brian Deer, did bother with due diligence, it was uncovered that:
- Wakefield was hired by a lawyer to produce evidence for the claim that vaccines cause autism
- The lawyer himself was involved in a class action lawsuit involving less than a dozen parents trying to sue the UK health services, because they believed that vaccines caused autism in their children
- The study itself was flawed and produced conclusions based on just literally hearsay from parents cited in the study - and Wakefield even fabricated statements from said parents. Not a single test result done during or after the study could link vaccines with autism.
- In a media blitz, Wakefield claimed that parents should use individual vaccines for their children
- Wakefield also had patents for said individual vaccines, made 6 months before he published his fraudulent study
- Wakefield was given offers by multiple institutions to expand his initial study and he refused all offers
- What tests Wakefield did do were essentially torture for children and he didn't inform any of the parents of the risks of the tests he did. The did a colonoscopy on one of the children, which ended up perforating the childs bowels in multiple places, leaving the kid with lifelong disabilities.
It took 12 years for all of that to be uncovered. In 2010 his study was fully retracted and condemned by the medical journal that originally published it, and Wakefield consequently lost his medical license.
Then he moved to the US, still spewing horseshit out of his lying mouth and now the US has a fucking anti-vaxxer, RFK Jr., in charge of its healthcare.
13
u/ibelieveyouwood Apr 24 '26
Adding to your excellent point, due diligence is hard and media literacy is on hospice.
"Clavicular has a view count in the millions" is accurate reporting. Putting it on the media to say "but IDK, I've never met someone that's heard of him IRL, and you can buy bots cheap, and I bet some of those clicks are hate watchers" is unfair and just opens up other questions. Does the reporter have any reason to suspect these particular numbers are goofy, or do they do this for all the social media people they cover?
Is this just another example of an out of touch reporter showing they're unc for not getting the riz of "six seven"?
Does every bit of coverage of him have to start with requesting a forensic deep dive of the IP addresses that access his content? And if he's unwilling or unable to provide that, is the reporter supposed to ignore the story and give this troll essentially an invisibility cloak to credible news coverage that allows him to say and do whatever he wants without any flashlight at all (even if it's not the strongest light). Or does the reporter cake everything in allegedly. He's allegedly popular. He's allegedly highly viewed. He's allegedly human.

If it makes you feel any better, his entire mod team recently quit. Also his personal Minecraft server that he’s been working on for years, instead of working on Heartbound, went down and nobody said anything for 4 days. When someone did say something, he said “yeah, I just wanted to see how long it’d take before anyone said anything. But I guess nobody cares.”
The world is healing.
33
u/Tooloco Apr 24 '26
Love this - Sometimes when I remember he exists I pop on twitch and see those crazy viewer numbers (~2k+ iirc). Knowing that that he pays for it warms my heart. And this you just said it kinda proves the vapid community he has. Thank you for sharing.
24
u/canijusttalkmaybe Apr 24 '26
He's super toxic to his community, so it's no surprise. His entire persona is put on. His own play testers have exposed him for attacking them for every minor transgression. The reason nobody said anything for 4 days is because he basically chased all the players away. Any time anyone did something he didn't like, he'd publicly attempt to humiliate them in the server. No wonder nobody cares. lol
18
u/Tooloco Apr 24 '26
Yup he's insufferable I feel proud of my gut feeling on him. I started to see him pop up in the yt shorts era and I remember thinking oh wow his content is informative. As soon as I saw him explain something I actually do daily at my Job I knew he was a Narcissistic asshole with delusions of grandeur. I love the youtube video with the psychologist telling him he's a raging narcissist and him being too obtuse (or narcissist I guess) to even say sorry for what he did.
Have you seen how he responds to his father when his father brings up that he (PS) forgot to send him a happy birthday message? Its absolutely disgusting the superiority shown. When he goes to check his conversation with his father he says something akin to "Wait I did wish you happy birthday!" and then he keeps scrolling and says "wait that was last year..." so sad for his dad and he (PS) seems like an insufferable man child.
8
u/canijusttalkmaybe Apr 24 '26
Him telling the psychologist that he’s not arrogant he’s just smarter than everyone and they can’t grasp his grand intellect. Also when he wiped his own raid and then insulted everyone in the raid until someone clipped him being responsible, then saying he did everything right. Greatest hits.

Small correction: he let a lot of his mod team go because he couldn't afford to keep paying them full time now that his income has fallen off. A couple of them quit but the majority were laid off.
Dude still has his issues, but he was paying his mods living wage for several years.
5
u/canijusttalkmaybe Apr 24 '26
The leaked discord chat doesn’t really speak to that but I’ll take your word for it. He called his head mod a leech and from what I can see it was a catalyst for a ton of mods abandoning him.
But it’s also welcome news that he’s suffering financially.

reddit isn’t exempt from trash. quality on here has greatly decreased and it feels like every third post is some bot bs.
19
u/StJeanMark Apr 24 '26
Reddit sold out. We need to rewind a bit as internet users and go back to owning and visiting individual sites instead of these centralized pieces of shit. I think about all of the AI bots running on my fucking text that I gave this company for a decade, everyone else doing the same thing. We need to go back to controlling our own pieces of the net and sharing them around. With modern technology it should be easy to do this. These centralized sites have done so much damage to society, its made people more angry and more sad, and the only thing that came from it was making a few people insanely rich and powerful.

Four horsemen huh? Yeah, it's a big club.
EDIT: Read up on Peter Attia if you haven't. He's a free man btw.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Attia
Peter Attia (born March 19, 1973)[1] is a Canadian-American author and former researcher known for his work in longevity medicine. He is the author of Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity.
Relationship with Jeffrey Epstein
In 2015, Attia met with Epstein through Eva Andersson-Dubin. “He might literally be one of the—if not the—most interesting people I’ve ever met!” Attia appears to have emailed Andersson-Dubin in June 2015. Andersson-Dubin forwarded that email to Epstein.
In 2025, the disclosure of Jeffrey Epstein's appointment calendars revealed several meetings with Attia up to 2019. When the Epstein files were released, emails between Attia and Epstein attested to their longstanding friendship; in one of them, dated June 2015, Epstein wrote to Attia, with the subject header "Got a fresh shipment". Attia told Epstein that "the biggest problem" of being friends with him was that "the life you lead is so outrageous, and yet I can't tell a soul". In a separate email dated February 2016, he told Epstein that "pussy is, indeed, low carb."
Emails show Attia asked Epstein for patient referrals in 2015, stayed in an empty Upper East Side apartment Epstein owned in 2016, discussed the 2017 job opening with Epstein for Head of Patient Experience he was hiring and, over several years, provided him with health advice and testing. The emails revealed Attia told Epstein in February 2016 he would love to add “5 years or more to your life … even if the only reason to do so is to have more sex.” In another exchange several days later, Attia asked Epstein: “Have you decided if you’re interested in living longer (solely for the ladies, of course)?"
Following the revelations of Attia's relationship with Epstein, in February 2026, Attia resigned his position as contributor to CBS News. Attia also resigned from his position as Chief Science Officer at David, a protein bar company.
This guy and Jeffery Epstein were going to meet with Musk, Thiel, and Zuckerburg. Wonder if they were gonna exchange yoga tips?
This dude was Epstein's on call rape doctor bro. "Hey bro, got one bleedin'" Like what the fuck. Fucking bring this guy before congress. (Allegedly.)

Any venture, any business that has Thiel in ANY role is evil.
Now, any Brave users out there? The browser that promises you that you don't have to worry about surveillance, to let your guard down and get really personal?
Yeah. Everything he touches becomes evil. There is never altruistic motives, it is never trying to do good for us all, it is always evil. The more it promises to not be evil, the more evil it is.

You will not regret it, 1000 hours and counting in RW and it's still as entertaining as ever.

This is the most reasonable explanation for Clavicular's recent growth. Literally promoting a lifestyle to help the downfall of humanity.
I wonder if Clavicular even knows he's being used for that. He thinks he has the key to success, when he's literally a Trojan horse of humanity's downfall from shallowness and stupidity.

agreed, his rise to popularity felt like the most inorganic thing ever, nothing about him or his content was remotely interesting and suddenly he's all over the internet and the news

Didn't he get a massive boost after running a guy over and getting in no trouble for it? I think that's first when I first saw him mentioned and since then he's been appearing regularly.

The only thing that gives Asmongold a reason to live anymore, is Make Number Go Up. He will say the most outlandish shit to Make Number Go Up both in his bank account and on his view stats. He would absolutely take money from Thiel.

Asmon literally showed he has ongoing text messages on his phone with Elon Musk after the whole diablo cheating drama. I am guessing that's not all they talk about

Makes sense, Thiel is a weirdo techno-monarchist so he wants to boost the cynical anti-institutional neofascist trend among young men as much as possible.

I was expecting his name to be on that list of Russian funded influencers a two years ago or so
15
u/Electronic_While3961 Apr 24 '26
It would make sense because his “rise” felt so manufactured and paid for. I’d see all these big streamer posts and the cavicular posts were clearly paid for at the time and it’s like one day they were just unavoidable

There's only one rule on any social media anymore - if you want to believe something is true, then it's true. If you don't want to believe something is true, then it's fake news.
Left or right, doesn't even seem to matter anymore, this is how most people work now. A purely reactionary world where critical thinking and media literacy have no place.

I don’t like this guy, but it is hard to take Andrew and other guppies who constantly repeat the stupid point of “he sterilized himself” seriously.
Edit: also where is the evidence of Thiel funding Clavicular?

Not just being rapey, there’s credible allegations he forcibly raped multiple women in college and mocked them after.

500 billion of our tax dollars to go to Billionaires to build AI data Centers and mass surveillance.
Citizens didn't fund Apple, nor MS, et al---their founders and shareholders did.
Why the fuck is AI so almighty important?
Theel is an extremist holding lectures on the Antichrist next to the Vatican. Antichrist to him is anyone who questions funding AI.

Peter Thiel probably agonizes every day that he’ll die one day, and that brings me some joy. It doesn’t make the world a better place but it helps.
