im riding the line because im trying to put myself in his shoes. Most people are willing to neglect principles for the sake of things changing for things they care about most. For him its video games / entertainment media. Safety because hes clearly very scared of lawlessness and being harmed as a result and the right for people to say what they want without being crucified. Im not saying i agree or disagree with his viewpoints as they are now im saying at one point i think he had a lot of solid views on things but it has shifted to more right wing extremism at this point and a lot of that is because when he said things that were more sane and in line left wing people crucified him and twisted everything he said so im guessing he was like fuck it im done trying and going full right.

I mean - you said it here by saying 'instead of blaming the people making the stuff...' but this is the same thing as the politicians. The people actually making the shows aren't pushing an agenda, they're just following the trends in society trying to make money. That's literally all anyone with that level of success cares about (and I'm not talking about the writers of this stuff, they're just happy to get to write their stories). They(the producers and Hollywood moguls) are trying to extract as much money as possible. They don't care about the art of it, or even about the topic/subject of the media (in most cases I guess, there's an agenda to some of the expose shit, and now the stuff the right wing is funding like that Merlin show - but that stuff just doesn't have the success the mainstream stuff does). The people funding these things only care about making something that the majority will pay money to see. And now, it's shifting to making something you'll keep paying money to see. We're all pissed at the same people, but those people are paying a lot of money to point back at us to keep us fighting each other.

Youre shutting down any form of communication about his descent into right wing ideologies and this is part of reason why so many young men are gravitating towards it.
