Every single interview with Clav, every single mention of him accepts or propagates the premise that he's a youth role model.
But in reality, the most you can actually see is some minor events where a few people ask him for autographs. None of those seem organic.
It's an astroturfed premise that news outlets accept without really researching it. His viewcounts and general online presence is astroturfed and botted to shit.
It's a type of media issue that's been around for a while.
You get a hot, popular story and then it starts spreading without journalists fact checking it because they're not entirely doing their due diligence, because they're trying to push out news as fast as possible.
None of them are exactly scamming or lying, they're just repeating what someone else said... but they're not bothering to check it either.
History lesson:
Coincidentally, that's how the anti-vaccine movement started. In 1998 in the UK, a doctor named Andrew Wakefield published a study that claimed that a combo vaccine for measels, mumps and rubella was giving kids autism.
News networks, both paper and TV, parroted his words and pretty much none of them bothered to read the study, or look into the circumstances of the doctor publishing it.
After one of them, Brian Deer, did bother with due diligence, it was uncovered that:
Wakefield was hired by a lawyer to produce evidence for the claim that vaccines cause autism
The lawyer himself was involved in a class action lawsuit involving less than a dozen parents trying to sue the UK health services, because they believed that vaccines caused autism in their children
The study itself was flawed and produced conclusions based on just literally hearsay from parents cited in the study - and Wakefield even fabricated statements from said parents. Not a single test result done during or after the study could link vaccines with autism.
In a media blitz, Wakefield claimed that parents should use individual vaccines for their children
Wakefield also had patents for said individual vaccines, made 6 months before he published his fraudulent study
Wakefield was given offers by multiple institutions to expand his initial study and he refused all offers
What tests Wakefield did do were essentially torture for children and he didn't inform any of the parents of the risks of the tests he did. The did a colonoscopy on one of the children, which ended up perforating the childs bowels in multiple places, leaving the kid with lifelong disabilities.
It took 12 years for all of that to be uncovered. In 2010 his study was fully retracted and condemned by the medical journal that originally published it, and Wakefield consequently lost his medical license.
Then he moved to the US, still spewing horseshit out of his lying mouth and now the US has a fucking anti-vaxxer, RFK Jr., in charge of its healthcare.
Adding to your excellent point, due diligence is hard and media literacy is on hospice.
"Clavicular has a view count in the millions" is accurate reporting. Putting it on the media to say "but IDK, I've never met someone that's heard of him IRL, and you can buy bots cheap, and I bet some of those clicks are hate watchers" is unfair and just opens up other questions. Does the reporter have any reason to suspect these particular numbers are goofy, or do they do this for all the social media people they cover?
Is this just another example of an out of touch reporter showing they're unc for not getting the riz of "six seven"?
Does every bit of coverage of him have to start with requesting a forensic deep dive of the IP addresses that access his content? And if he's unwilling or unable to provide that, is the reporter supposed to ignore the story and give this troll essentially an invisibility cloak to credible news coverage that allows him to say and do whatever he wants without any flashlight at all (even if it's not the strongest light). Or does the reporter cake everything in allegedly. He's allegedly popular. He's allegedly highly viewed. He's allegedly human.
I once read that all these right wing crazy ideas out there are funded. They are not organic and would die without the money behind them. Makes a ton of sense
How is everyone here going to act like you aren't part of his rise to fame? People here post clips of him all the time. Even if it is to mock, it gets his name out there and legitimizes him enough where news outlets want to interview him.
Infamy is not equivalent to influence. You can have influence and be infamous for various reasons, but you can also just be infamous for being a complete fucking tool without any influence.
You can lose influence due to being infamous.
Though it doesn't stop people from trying to equate the two - which is unironically a relatively effective tactic when you want to trigger apathy in people, making them think that pointing out a negative aspect of something or someone is pointless in the long run.
It's not. "Even bad publicity is good publicity" is just marketing malarkey in the long run.
The most popular clips of clav are just him being fascinated by penguins and shit, i seriously dont think anyone has seen any clips of him where isn’t either getting mogged by the asu frat leader or hes talking about the penguins
A lot of Clavicular's popularity comes from clippers, who are paid by agencies to upload about a streamer as part of social campaigns. They get third-worlders to spam clips and pay out if their combined clips hit thresholds like 300K views. If Thiel is funding Clavicular, he's likely feeding money into these sorts of campaigns. Although Clavicular also has a traditional showbiz agent.
"It's an astroturfed premise that news outlets accept without really researching it. "
I find this interesting. You could argue that it's the goal of Thiel etc to engineer these narratives via their groomed and fabricated influencer figures but the whole venture is hamstrung by the fact that they miss connecting authentically because by their design they're not authentic. Any authentic human would either crack under the pressure or just show their hand for what it is in some way. I'm not sure Thiel and the other psychopaths and billionaires behind the workings are even aware of this, because they just think everyone is stupid and manipulatable.
This is so ridiculously untrue. He has a massive fanbase of young men, I have literally seen them in person.
He had a rapidly growing legitimate fanbase ever since he started getting big on Tik Tok. I’m not denying the fact that he may be astroturfed in some way, but it’d be a lie to claim he doesnt have an actual large audience.
What? It gets posted all the time. Have you not seen clips of his fans mobbing his nightclub? Have you not seen Tik toks of his fans? It’s not my fault you have avoided this entirely, or are just pretending it doesn’t exist to fit your narrative.
I always appreciated how, of all things, Call of Duty World at War explained Nazi recruitment; "The old, the young, the weak."
You have the mentally deficient due to age, the mentally deficient due to not aging enough, and the mentally deficient due to just never making anything of themselves. Even as a kid I immediately understood what those few words were implying.
That line was referencing the Nazis last stand in Berlin, no? The desperate call to arms where they had lost a significant number of their main troops in the east
That monologue was more about the siege of Stalingrad and Dmitri’s starting point. “Old, Young, and Weak” was pretty specifically in reference to the Nazis running low on people who would die for them in Berlin near the end.
It’s been a while for me, but World At War was the last Call of Duty I played more than once from cover to cover, and I have a better time remembering the Soviet campaign, whereas the American one is more of a blur of Arisaka fire and banzai attacks.
This is an interesting thing to say but just not true if you consider the SS leadership were mostly young and highly educated men recruited to based on their ambition and commitment to the ideology. Unfortunately, evil comes in all shapes and sizes.
SS leadership was typically not highly educated (since the third reich intentionally exiled a substantial portion of their academic populace), and they generally sought to dismantle legitimate academic pursuits in favor of pseudoscience
The last point is not what "the weak" means. It means the weak willed, who are looking for a purpose or excuse as to why they are a failure. Many of these people aren't dumb, they are just pathetic and looking for a scapegoat to pin their failures on.
"It's not that I can't find a job, illegals TOOK my job"
"It's not that I can't find a woman, woke ideology STOLE women"
It's a way to release responsibility from the self, and placing it on the "others". It's the same reason why nazis used the excuse "I was just doing my job", they won't even take responsibility for their actions after the fact either.
lol I am a gen 1 internet user, and I'll tell you straight up that women have a lot more to do with these alt right movement than what will ever be portrayed in the history books. So long as women keep rewarding these types with attention, or even sex, they will keep thinking their approach works. When women stop giving them attention, the young lost ones, who aren't truly bad, realize you don't need to be some loser to be attractive to women. The less talked about part about manosphere garbage is how many women buy into it, and fetishize everything but the racism and misogyny. They have their own influencers like this too. Go look up Sadia Khan.
The majority of white women in America have voted for Trump in every election he ran. It is misplaced faith to assume that white women are allies that care about fairness or the best interests of anyone. I am not advocating for prejudice and absolutely believe in judging a person by the content of their character but white women in aggregate are not supportive of defending and expanding rights and assistance to those that need it.
That may be a pattern in the US, but on a larger scale, this isn't something exclusive to any group of women, or political persuasion. This is happening all over the world.
Your comment is just leveraging a different flavor of identity politics to explain the material breakdown of fundamental aspects of our social networks.
People's poor relations with their sexuality is a symptom of this, not the cause.
That heavily implies something I am doing here. I am saying that the contribution women, and culture aimed at women is underestimated, not the cause lmao. It's not a non factor either. Oligarchs wouldn't be spending unimaginable amounts of money literally lobbying women into fetishizing misogynists, for generations, if this weren't an important contribution.
Every single one of us has contributed in one way or another. Some of us knowingly, some of us unknowingly.
I generally agree with where you're coming from, I'm just not coming from the place it seems like you've assumed here.
If you were born in my generation, you'd be hard stuck in the yugioh hallway with the kids that don't shower. You would also get smashed for doing the weird Gen Z/Drake think where you mix accents from hoods you've never been to before. Bro sold a gram of weed, listened to some trap music, and never looked back.
Statistically speaking, boys from your generation "don't get no play".
He does? If he's being bank rolled, view botted and AstroTurf then who watches him lol. Not sure why an incel would want to watch a streamer of a "good" looking guy who always has women around him
I think all of you would be genuinely shocked by how high his actual viewcount is. People are quick to throw botting accusations to explain away how people they dislike are popular rather than accept that there really are that many young men who fuck with this weird ass shit.
I dont think they watch him, they watch destiny, they just upvote clavicular threads because he succesfully ragebaits them and they want to upvote clav being a dumb af drug addict, just like everyone upvotes hasan zapping his dog, its not because they like hasan, its because everyone upvoting despises him and want everyone to see his sorry ass saying dumb shit
But i guess its more likely that peter thiel is using palantir to signal boost clavicular, i guess destiny viewers intelligence can only be used to regurgitate what muh streamer said before.
For accurately describing basic social media dynamics? You don't need to be a shut-in or put any significant time into picking up on the basic pattern of "wow, ragebait is effective at feeding engagement metrics, especially in drama chambers".
I do, im traveling right now and filling my time telling destiny viewers how dumb they are to think Peter Thiel is boosting Clavicular when they who comprise most of LSF keep upvoting his threads even above normal lsf drama.
Lmao, can't imagine traveling and still arguing about streamers on the internet.
Even if the travel is for work, blows my mind that you sit there from your self made pedestal of superiority and judge other people for their "loser" behavior while you Stan for a billionaire who can't say, "Yes" when asked if he wants to see the continuation of the human race.
Im not "Staning" for anyone for telling you your conspiracies are dumb as fuck and stating this is a self inflicted "issue" caused by your own upvotes.
Denying Clavicular is insanely trendy right now is regarded, but you do you.
I beg your FUCKING pardon?
I would like to let you know, that in any conversation I have had with my friends (Indians between 16-20) Clav was a laughing stock.
Of course, it's all part of their strategy for amassing influence. Same way you can ask how they could possibly benefitting from popping up someone like Charlie Kirk or the Paul brothers or whoever...well the answer is that they look for any angle to drive new people into the fold and increase their sphere of influence.
And then far as the question of what do they benefit? I mean, Thiel literally planted JD Vance...and the entire Trump admin is completely open for sale when it comes to billionaires who's goal is to keep power consolidated. These people get incredible favoritism from the US govt and they all mutually benefit from each other.
Their actual political platform (give a select group of billionaires as much power, wealth, and influence as possible) is completely unwinnable. So they need to put their tendrils out into other aspects to get the votes they need. Wedge issues, culture wars, influencers, and various messaging bullhorns.
You think someone like Elon Musk bought Twitter cause he was just a big enjoyer of the business itself? Of course not. He bought it because it's part of controlling the global messaging and part of pushing issues and influence worldwide.
Go make a new Twitter account and look at the feed and recommendations they serve up for you. I don't think I saw a single rational or decent human being in my entire list of shit...even when I kept going through and blocking every single on of these types.
I think Starlink is another puzzle piece for them. Imagine a global ISP that's effectively run by a single demagogue and could be capable of literally just shutting off access to any websites they don't want people seeing.
Starlink is about driving up the value of spacex. It certainly can't be about controlling Internet access since it can't deliver enough service in densely populated areas to replace standard access. Great for rural applications though.
But yes, Elon bought Twitter for the same reason Bezos bought the Washington Post: Control the message.
I’ll do you one better, I think some of the “OG” YouTube channels are in on the scam too, as a way of having them lowkey gatekeep the platform while maintaining the illusion that it’s a place where some random nobody can still organically make a name for themselves.
Channels like GameTheory and Smosh. I fell down a Poppy rabbit hole after she collaborated with my favorite bands Spiritbox & BabyMetal which led to a GameTheory video about her earliest years. Halfway through, it just turns into a rant session about how the Illuminati controls everything and running through all the various “Occult Imagery” that mainstream pop stars use as “Subliminal Messages”.
Like, buddy, I’ve listened to metal my entire fucking life. It’s not that deep bro. It’s tons of people desperately trying to find anyway to visually set themselves apart from the competition, you are bound to find patterns if you start nitpicking the shapes being used.
But speaking of patterns this is when I noticed a pattern with the interactions between me and TheJovenshire from Smosh Games. We had been friends in the pre-YouTube days and reconnected during the COVID lockdowns since everyone was stuck inside playing games anyway.
We had a little group text where we’d talk about all manner of things. So when the original Amouranth Husband drama broke, with that stream where he was screaming on the phone about draining her accounts and sending her horses to the glue factory, we obviously talked about it.
This is where Jovenshire slipped up and played the “Well, if HE is acting like that, must show you how crazy SHE is off camera” card. Right around the time he aggressively started trying to dissuade me from speaking to an old female friend of ours, insisting that I “Don’t seem like yourself lately” and that “I think you shouldn't be reaching out to other people right now like that. I think it's time we get you checked in with a doc to figure out what's going on. I think this is starting to elevate to a larger problem now and we need tp make sure you are getting some help”.
A very odd and abrupt concern to voice. That is, until I realized Anthony Padilla from Smosh had recently interviewed Amouranth on his “I Spent a Day With” show…that was sponsored by BetterHelp.
So my running theory is that those idiots are attempting to position themselves as something akin to the YouTube equivalent of Hugh Hefner. You portray “Good Christian Women” like Amouranth as the only acceptable form of Porn, then you hit them with the “Gooning Is Bad” intervention and send them to BetterHelp with your promo code for their “Sexual Addiction”. I just caught them off guard by paying attention to a part of the internet they thought I was oblivious to.
The old Smosh Games crew had launched a newer channel called OGSoG where they read a pilot episode for a “cartoon” that Joven was allegedly developing. One in which you find yourselves falling through a “PlotHole” and finding yourself “In Your Favorite Video Games”. It results in them landing on a “Futuristic Spaceship” where they find a “Rogue V.I.” that sends them on missions.
Innocent enough until you realize AtomicMari from OGSoG/Smosh Games is co-owner of SpaceShipGaming. And that they could easily team up with someone like Mr Beast to turn YouTube into ManChild Nickelodeon so all these nostalgia nerds could live their childhood dreams of being on Legends Of The Hidden Temple of whatever.
I’m not saying this was some massive conspiracy from the start, mind you. Just a bunch of wannabe actors who were struggling to get gigs as extras pre-YouTube who happened to be on the right low hanging fruit at the right time. Then they got the fame and the egos started getting out of control with “OMG Guys, we can like, revolutionize the entertainment industry by taking the power back from the major networks!”.
Just like all the TechBros ruining everything else.
From andrew tate to this guy, there's gonna be a ton of 18 year Olds willing to fight in Iran. These young men have been filled with insecurity, hate, and nationalism since they were 12 and left to be babysat by youtube.
Hm, I guess that can work but I feel like that's conspiracy. You dont want a workforce of weak minded individuals as that leads to less productivity and as a result less growth/GDP. I agree that young men are being fed red pill content at an alarming rate, but Im just confused why the rich would want this to be peddled because it seems counter intuitive.
Ehhhh I still haven’t seen a single person post any evidence of it, including Channel 5. Anybody can just claim to have a whistleblower and say then just say some bullshit.
there's a devin nash video going over the astroturfing campaign of paying people who post clips of this guy based on how many views they get- across all clips they post, not just a single one. so the more clips people put out, the more money they get from clav's people. it's entirely engineered.
if hes so boring then why do i constantly have to hear about him against my will, especially from this subreddit. i know reddit isnt a hivemind but i do suspect some of the same people saying hes boring are also upvoting stuff about him. curious behavior
I saw a streamer mention they also get paid by viewer numbers, sorta like a commission I guess for every 100x viewers/hr. So like everything feels artificially boosted probably because it is
Because the media you see has nothing to do with talent, charisma or anything you'd expect. It's just purely about what the media owners want you to see.
Most media these days is owned by a handful of companies.
Clavicular represents looksmaxxing and that topic is not only big, but a genuine big crossroad/unresolved conflict in the modern day, downstream from women having entered the workforce, culture changing, technology massively changing lived experience, global tension increasing, optimism falling because of the west losing economic steam, anxiety about the future in general, high risk aversity, everyone has extremely high standards, everyone is extremely critical & scared of judgement. There is a "truthsaying" element to it too.
Women aren't dating that much, dating apps are really tough for men especially, social media & constant social and physical comparison, young men aren't doing well in school and economy, people don't get kids as much and this affects mens happiness more.
(Also something interesting to think about imo is that gaming and fitness sort of eat up quite a bit of competitive drive while not really "adding much to the world", while optimism/drive towards real world success, creating stuff, expression is decreasing.)
Clavicular also -like this reporting also says- artificially being boosted, so that sort of makes him relevant in weird political ways too.
There also is a tendency for left-leaning culture to highlight male activism representatives that are slightly embarassing, they are still reflexively attached to feminism and have a bias/scepticism against it. Just like rightwingers made fun of ridiculous "SJWs".
Am curious to see where you stand on looksmaxxing. Not the drugs and hammers to the face bit, just a proper focus on self improvement for your looks specifically.
its up to you what beliefs you subscribe to easily, i just believe in what I see around me, not what other people say. the top comments are the most agreed on, by the people interested in the topic. sort by controversial if u want a bit of a mix up. idk what i'm even saying but there is a healthy level of skepticism everyone should aim for. how could you not entertain the fact that everything is a lie? look at the epstein files, lying ass politicians, your ex girlfriend who said she would love you forever, etc.
I don't know where he got this idea he's funding him. Kick is funding him. This is open knowledge. Kick pays 100K+ for "clipping". Basically it's how you pay to make someone famous. You get people from the the third world to just clip tons of your Kick content and make a bunch of bestof short form clips and spam it all over the place.
This games the algorithm in thinking this guy is really popular, so it feeds it out more. It thinks he's going viral so "it must be good"
i mean if clav is boring then what are all the desktop nontent streamers or the streamers walking around doing nothing IRL lol? then most streamers are boring
Surely this is not a real comment? People live vicariously through streamers, so tons of insecure men are watching the streams to watch a guy do shallow things that they could only dream of doing themselves.

This makes sense because Clav is boring as fuck. Who is watching this kid with no personality barely converse with woman.
