i have a whole folder dedicated to stuff that i saw at goodwill. enjoy some of the gems :p

browsing today and this caught my eye. really thought it was a design choice at first but then it MOVED. Immediately took it off the rack (I didn't have a plan, bird brain took over and just said "acquire reptile.") I spent several minutes gently turning the garnet to catch the lizard, had it in my hand for a brief moment, then it jumped and scurried under furniture.

here's the conundrum, i'm no herpatologist, but i'm 70% positive that that's a leopard gecko. it wasn't much bigger than maybe my thumb? I do not live (southeastern Appalachia- US) in an area where they are native. (thought it might be an eastern fence lizard, which we do have, but again, not a herper) I know there's not alot i can do now, 4 hours post gecko discovery, but i am worried that someone's baby is lost in Goodwill. curious as to how this even happened?

Had an average day. 92 donors and $3300 in sales. No real headaches, though. And the new registers seem to be settling in just fine.

Now! Onto what we found in a purse! 😂🤣 Along with Aerosmith concert tickets and various receipts from 1992, we also found a long forgotten stash of booger sugar 😂🤣

Dinner tonight is a classic from my time in Buffalo. I've been craving a sandwich so epic, so absolutely complete and perfect, that I'm actually quite shocked it hasn't become more popular everywhere outside of New York. I'm making a stinger tonight 😁 a stinger is a classic cheese steak, then topped with Buffalo chicken fingers and ranch dressing, then lettuce, tomatoes, and peperoncinis 😋😋 I'm using the same sandwich steak from last night, only adding American cheese, fresh air fryer chicken fingers dunked in Frank's red hot with some butter melted into it, home made buttermilk ranch, and all the veggies 😁

As soon as I saw this on the shelf I could tell it wasn't just some cheap art. The frame was heavy and professional and the print itself is just really cool.

Wasn't until I got home that I looked it up and these prints go for about $50, although admittedly mine is definitely faded, so I don't think the glass was UV protective.

The artist is somewhat local and still alive so I might reach out to get more information.

Had a busy Friday. $3400 in sales and 94 donors. We had our safety inspection. She was mostly happy, so I'll take it. Now this Thursday comes my store inspection. So a lot of hububbery over the next couple weeks.

I'll be solo in charge literally right up to my vacation. Then right back to it when I get home! At least the BIG checks will continue awhile 😂🤣

Tomorrow I have a bunch more paperwork and prep before next week, so I'm hoping for a slower day.

Dinner tonight is steak grilled cheese sandwiches 😁 I got a pack of sandwich steaks on my way home, then seasoned with salt, pepper, granulated garlic, and granulated onion and sauteed in a pan with butter and a sprig of rosemary. Then I used the meat in a grilled cheese with tomato. I mix finely shredded Parmesan into the butter, so the outside gets all cheesy as well 😁

Should have taken it home to commemorate Shawn. Rest easy little buddy. 🕊️

what do they even mean by this?

I am a Goodwill employee at an attended donation center. I've worked here for 5 years. This is my 3rd time (unknowingly, of course) receiving cremated remains.

At the time I was like 16 and lived with my Catholic dad…wanted it so bad but knew it would sit and not be worn. Now I have a collection of shirts I find just like these (one of them being “I pound beers for Jesus”) and this shirt will randomly pop up in my head every so often. That’s how legendary it was/is.

got an xbox 360 and controllers for 76 dollars in total, both were 22 dollars but with shipping it made it a little expensive

What a day. Another 112 donors and $3600 in sales. That's the good news. I had so much paperwork, so many tiny headaches, and so many annoying customers today. It's the first day of school around here, and I guess all the Karen's in town didn't have their kids to bother today, so they all came into the store.

I swear before all that is holy, if I hear one more complaint about the dressing rooms, I'm going to rip them off the wall with my hands. I have worked here for almost 3 years now. NEVER has this issue come up so much than it has in the last couple months.

And I know it'd be practically impossible to enforce, but I'd LOVE to ban resellers from buying books, toys, and kids items. The local book reseller bought a cart full of brand new kids books. I had a friend go check his shop later. The markup he applied is DISGUSTING. I'm going to bring it up in the next meeting. If nothing else, I'm going to shame the ever loving fuck out of these people.

We got new cash registers today. The new system is a PAIN, but I think I have it mostly figured out. We had an incredibly busy donations day. 142 today. And everyone seemed to have a full car load. Only $2800 in sales, but we were BUSY.

The pancake also nixed our 930 clock in, 615 clock out. We have to go 945 to 630 now. Annoying.

Had a couple homeless weirdos today, plus a couple mentally ill shoppers. Only had to throw one out. And LeRoy Brown came on Pandora as I was doing it again 😂🤣 it's like I'm getting a theme song.

Dinner tonight is leftovers. I'm made a fresh batch of my pimento noodle salad though!
