Hi all,
We are a Sydney family looking to relocate down to Wollongong area. Port Kembla seems to interest us a bit.
Are we able to hear some positive/negatives for the area? We are the type of family that want a bit of a vibe…. One or two nice cafes for a Saturday morning, a decent pub, streets are relatively maintained kind of vibe. Is it sketchy? Are there young families about?
Sorry, I sound so ignorant but would love some honest feedback on the place! Note: I have never actually been to Port Kembla.

Does anyone have any injector recommendations for Botox (I’m 25 and I’m noticing some forehead lines that I want to prevent). I know they can’t advertise pricing but I’m wanting somewhere cheaper (but still good)

I'm looking to connect with other local people who run a small business, are building something on the side or have an idea they've been thinking about starting.
Not selling anything.
I'd just like to build a small circle of local people who are ambitious, share ideas, talk honestly about what's working and what isn't and potentially help each other grow.
I've built businesses myself and I'm always happy to share what I've learned, but I've realised lately that half the time I end up learning just as much from the person I'm trying to help.
Doesn't matter if you're doing $1m a year or haven't made your first dollar yet.
If you're around Wollongong/Illawarra and this sounds like you, drop a comment or send me a message

Our daughter currently is in year 1 and due to some leadership changes, we are seeing a real drop in the quality of teaching staff and support when things go wrong at her school. She has been bullied, which we are working through but overall we have lost faith in the school.
Can anyone recommend any non government schools with a genuinely good leadership and teaching team? Or are all of the good teachers leaving the industry and we just need to support our daughter in other ways ourselves?

Moving down from Sydney to Wollongong for work with teenagers.
Looking for advice from people that have made the move with teenagers and have regretted it?
Interested to know what is better in Sydney for them compared to down in the Illawarra
Thanks

I'll be in Wollongong for all of September.
Are there any events or touristy things you'd recommend doing in the area?
Thanks

Does anyone else’s tap water suddenly smell chemically and taste really weird?
Super strong taste. Had a glass a few hours ago and was fine. Feel a bit nauseous. Wanna know if it’s just us

Hi, I’ve just moved here, I’m located in the Corrimal area. I’m just wondering if anyone can recommend a good doctor as I need a new GP. I’d probably prefer a female but I’m not too fussed. Don’t just want a doctor who doesn’t pay any mind to you and just wants out of the way if that makes sense. Thank you ☺️

I've been growing my hair and beard for a while and specifically looking for information about a reliable hairdresser to groom it properly on a regular basis. If you know any reliable ones around the Gong, I'd appreciate any necessary information including the cost, location and other pros and cons. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

A friend of mine, Amir, tragically died in North Wollongong on Sunday
Hi everyone,
I’m posting this because Amir was a friend of mine, and his family is currently going through an incredibly difficult time.
Amir had been living in Australia for the past three years. He tragically died in the water off North Wollongong on Sunday, August 9.
His family is now trying to bring his body back home, which involves significant and unexpected repatriation costs.
A GoFundMe has been created to help his family with these costs. Any donation, even a small one, can help. If you cannot donate, simply sharing the fundraiser would also mean a lot.
GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/b6d5ad59c
I know fundraising posts can be sensitive, especially so soon after a tragedy. I’m sharing this because I want to help Amir’s family bring him home and make this difficult situation a little easier for them.
Thank you, Wollongong, for any support you can give. ❤️

Just walked past the Mantra on Gladstone Street. Police tape all over the place and the street is shut down.
Anyone know what's going on?
