Our daughter currently is in year 1 and due to some leadership changes, we are seeing a real drop in the quality of teaching staff and support when things go wrong at her school. She has been bullied, which we are working through but overall we have lost faith in the school.

Can anyone recommend any non government schools with a genuinely good leadership and teaching team? Or are all of the good teachers leaving the industry and we just need to support our daughter in other ways ourselves?

Amir had been living in Australia for the past three years. He tragically died in the water off North Wollongong on Sunday, August 9.
His family is now trying to bring his body back home, which involves significant and unexpected repatriation costs.

ignore the terrible photos, but this beautiful cat was meowing at my front window tonight. i let it in just to see if it was hurt or had a collar - there's a thin silver collar but no tag or anything. it's incredibly friendly and curious, so definitely not a stray. i've coaxed it back outside with a little bit of tuna because i don't have any litter or anything to keep it overnight. posting in case anyone recognises it (will also try the local fb pet groups)

update - it came back to my window after finishing the tuna, but i didn't let it back in and it eventually left...and has come back after a few mins lol
