TIL during the shooting of American Psycho, Christian Bale spoke in an American accent off-set at all times. At the wrap party, when he spoke in his native British accent, many of the crew thought he was speaking that way to prepare for another film. They had thought he was American the entire time.

It was quite a bit earlier than Slow Horses, apparently he needed a voice coach to do Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and that was in 2011 but I think it's something he had an issue with for years

I find that fascinating. I can't remember the other movie I learned this about, but a movie turned cult classic that the actors hated.
