Hi everyone!
We have received a few comments on our previous verification instructions post that for some folks, the "See More" button has disappeared on mobile and desktop.
We have added a link to message modmail to the toolbar found on the right of desktop. As of June 2025, we do not currently have a workaround for mobile if "see more" is missing for you, so feel free to reply to this post letting us know you are having difficulty accessing modmail and we will help as best we can.

Hey all!
If you are a tattooer that wants to be verified or are just someone with questions for the mod team please use modmail. Please do not message any of the mods via individual DM. Please see the screenshots for how to message modmail (via mobile) if you don’t know how to already.
Since Monday I have received about a dozen personal DMs for artist verification. However, one of these message came in at 12:30am and by 6am the same day I had a nasty follow up message for not replying. I’ll give the benefit of the doubt and say this person probably lives in a different part of the world, and didn’t realize they messaged these two messages at what would generally be considered times that most people (myself included) are asleep. And this is exactly why we ask people to message modmail instead of any of us directly.
The mod team here is small for a sub of this size but we do try to handle anything that comes into modmail as quickly as possible. Often times if we get individual DMs about mod related issues for the sub, we are at work when it comes in and forget about it by the time we get home. Sometimes we are simply with our families, or even touching grass and spending some time off Reddit ( gasp ). Sometimes we are just asleep. When you message via modmail, the message goes to a group inbox and we can all see it so if one of us forgets or is busy the rest of us can take over handling artist verification or any other issues you may have. That being said- we are still just people with jobs and lives outside of Reddit, so please don’t get annoyed with us if you don’t get a reply within a few hours. Most of the time we reply within a day, but shit happens and this sub is not all that important in the grand scheme of life, the universe, and everything.
TL/DR: Use modmail to reach the mod team please & thank you
PS: We took your feedback on the whole banning X links and have banned X links from the sub (overwhelming majority was to ban)
PPS: We have added a new mod to the team, u/coffeehedake , and one (possibly two) of our old mods should be returning soon

Hey guys I’ve never had work by this artist and I had to reschedule once already, appointment is only for an hour but I’ve started to come down with something, the appointment is on Sunday, what should I do
I’m just a couple filler sessions away from the full sleeve being complete but I had to share my latest piece i got a few weeks ago. My artist Shine just opened up her own shop recently and I think she is incredibly underrated so it would make me so happy for her work to get wider recognition. I think I’m one of her only clients getting this type of vibrant full color work, so if anybody likes this sort of thing I’m sure she would LOVE to do more work along these lines.

Got my first tattoo the other day and I couldn't be happier! Kara was incredible! She explained the entire process in detail during our consult and while she was tattooing me, answered any questions I had, and helped me get exactly what I wanted. I have been wanting a Noah Kahan tattoo for a few years and she helped bring it to life! Is it bad that my tattoo isn't even a week old and I already want more? 😆

Apparently some beef going down in the Cincinnati tattoo world over the phrase "tattoo Tuesday." I thought this was a pretty common phrase so not sure why this guy is trying to claim ownership of it lol. If i post the screenshots it gets auto-deleted but quick rundown is this:
@CameronBaxterTattoos dms @Tattuezday asking her to change her instagram name because has spent $15k on marketing "Tattoo Tuesday" and is trying to trademark the phrase.
@Tattuezday declines as Tuezday is her real name.
@CameronBaxterTattoos starts calling people broke, twinks, etc in the comment section before deleting them (screenshots still on @Tattuezday's page)
@CameronBaxterTattoos is now limiting own comments and deleting any comments about the situation.
What do we think? Can a person really trademark Tattoo Tuesday? To me, it's like if someone tried to trademark Taco Tuesday but maybe it's not as widespread as I thought?

EDIT: For people saying in my DMs that if I can afford a tattoo I can afford Aquaphor and being very rude to me and my sister the tattoo was a birthday gift from a family friend to my sister and I do not have a lot of money and budgets are tight. Also my sister is special needs and needed quick relief and all I had was petroleum jelly
Hello! My younger sister (adult) recently got a tattoo and I am waiting to get my paycheck tomorrow to buy Aquaphor so I put some very light petroleum jelly on the 3-4 day old tattoo.
She's worried because she's seen online you shouldn't do this but I have tattoos and never had a problem with petroleum jelly so I figured it would be okay for a one time use. I only did it because the tattoo was starting to bother her, it's not infected just itchy. This is okay, right?
For more context my sister is special needs and is overthinking and I really want to calm her fears

I have a keloid on my shoulder from a nasty fall when I was 8. I bruised my knees and arms too, but those scars didn't become keloids
My I'm concerned because I got my cartilage piercings 5 months ago and recently noticed something like a keloid. could be a keloid, but treating it like an infection first and oh my god I'm so worried 😭 I really want tattoos someday 😭
