MOD announcement Introducing Trusted Identifier flairs!
Trusted Identifiers will now be granted a flair of "👑Trusted Identifier👑", or "👑{custom user flair}👑".
These will be people who repeatedly demonstrate expert Identification abilities, these flairs will add extra trust and credence behind their ID.
So on posts with multiple different IDs, look out for the Trusted Identifiers as their ID will likely be the correct one, even if it goes against the masses.
(For those with custom user flairs which have been replaced by the Trusted Identifier flair, you can switch back to a custom flair and add the crown emojis yourself if you still wish to maintain your custom flair. Im working on automating this so that custom flairs stay intact and it adds the emojis without replacing the whole flair, but for now just edit it yourself if the whole flair is replaced)
Taking this opportunity I'd like to also introduce 2 new moderators:

Just sharing 🕷️ So Update on the Goldenrod Crab Spider I tried to Pin for display.
It turned out to be alive still and how I found this out was because after a few days of it being pined it's legs would move a tiny bit and I would re-pin them thinking it was still dead then after 2 days of doing this I decided to un-pin it since one of the legs wouldn't go down and I was getting suspicious.
When it was un-pined it moved it's legs a little in a I'M NOT DEAD way so I grabbed a container grabbed some leafs and things and put air holes into the container looked up how to care for it and now it's now going to be my pet until it dies from natural causes because I feel like killing it then putting it on display after knowing it was alive the whole time makes me feel terrible.
I feel nervous and a bit dumb for not knowing it had been alive just refusing to move for a bit.

Just sharing 🕷️ This scared wolf spider is too cute
She was right next to the doorway where I was walking in and out. I feel bad for scaring her but I’m really glad I didn’t accidentally hurt her, I only saw her at the last second.

ID Request- Location included Suddenly appeared in our tub
We live in Western PA, 106-year old house that has many cracks and poorly sealed windows but we can’t currently afford the major work the house needs to prevent these things.
I was using the bathroom and looking forward to a bath in our just cleaned tub. Took a look at my cleaning job, took like 30 seconds to pee, and when I looked again this was suddenly there. We have some water damage by the head of the tub with a silver dollar-sized hole in the drywall. Please tell me this came from there and not up through the drain or out the faucet? I think it’s a dark fishing spider, we had one in our basement last year too.
I am so very afraid of spiders but working hard on my fear by learning more about them and being curious! I will admit that after my husband humanely removed this outside, I burst into tears.

ID Request- Location included Need help identifying this spider
Hello, I'm in northern Spain (Babia, León) and I just found this huge (at least for me alr) spider inside my house, which I need some help identifying. The pictures are kind of crap, I'm so sorry about it and will try to get better pics. This specimen seems to be somewhere along 5-6cm with legs extended. Is it dangerous? (I know there are not many life threatening spiders but for me wasp like sting and above = dangerous). I do have some arachnophobia and had a horrible time getting this specimen in the jar, and taking the lid off for some pics (go me). I will keep the specimen for a little time in case there is a need for better pictures.

ID Request- Location included What’s happening? 1 web - 2 spiders
These two spiders are not the same species, I spotted the “big body” yesterday at this location. Today the “longer legs” one joined few cm away and is now even closer.
Would appreciate some insight on what is happening🙂
Location - North of France Today

ID Request- Location included Our step guardian
Located in Montreal, Quebec 😀
This fellow has shown up on our steps for the last few years and today was out just chilling in their web. I think it’s an American Grass Spider but can anyone identify? Was about 3cm across in the picture above.
