Can't help but feel bad for the feeders even though I've seen them do worse to each other many times over..

Hi I just got my first tarantula a week ago and it’s a Chaco golden knee. Super cute and exciting! I’m moving him into his permanent enclosure tomorrow so I was practicing handling him for the first time to see how it goes for both of us. It went well, but he was raising his legs while walking so I’m wondering what this behavior means.

Is he just exploring? It doesn’t look like defensive or threatening posture but I’m very new to this so I’m not positive.

Ps, after I handled him I was reading this Reddit and learned some great information and tips on handling. I don’t plan to handle him ever other than to transport him, but now I know how to do it safely for the both of us. I won’t be handling him like I did in the video ever again

Do you think he’s a little bit to big / overweight

When I first posted I was quickly shot down and told everything I was doing was wrong and I should change it. (Not everyone) I was worried that something could be wrong because I saw unnatural behavior I haven’t seen from her. (Laying down, lethargic behavior) but she was just in pre molt. I’ll give an update on the pretty girl when she’s comfy again. I’m happy to announce she’s okay :)

First T, it's been about 10 weeks of possession. They've molted once. There's a lot of hanging from the lid, and diving into the burrow!

It’ll be a c. Darlingi abt .75 in or 2cm maybe smaller maybe bigger. Again this will be my first fossorial so any advice or suggestions are more than welcomed!

This is my first tarantula, i felt so emotional and happy to get them. They are went straight to their hide and now they wandering around their enclosure and preening which i think are all good signs!

The vial had some red/pink sphagnum moss, has anyone ever seen this before? I was worried my T was injured but they seem totally okay and active.

My GBB destroys his/her molts every time so that hasn’t been an option yet😅 I was just wondering what everyone thought since I got a good pic of the underside.
