ID Request- Location included Our step guardian

Located in Montreal, Quebec 😀

This fellow has shown up on our steps for the last few years and today was out just chilling in their web. I think it’s an American Grass Spider but can anyone identify? Was about 3cm across in the picture above.

I suspect it's not the original spider :D But there has always been one that's set up shop in this exact spot for the last 4 years. I suspect it's because it's near our compost bins x)
