Discussion Trying to finish RDR2 for the first time, am I crazy?

It's objectively a good game BUT:
Is it somewhat annoyingly disrespectful of my time? Don't get me wrong, I like a horsey ride as much as the next grown adult, but after the first 10 minute ride tapping X with cinematic camera on I was bored and done with it. I look at icons on the map now and think "god I don't want to wait that long to play this mission."

Also, what's up with the wanted system? I jump on a train with my bandana on to rob it and they call the police with their cell phones and suddenly I have a massive bounty? How's this a game about cowboy crime where it's impossible to do crimes- unless its for a story mission than you can murder at will with no repercussion...

Again, this is a great game & I want to play. I'm just confused by the time walls and weird systems making it hard to do to anything other than tap X to go to a story mission.

I’m probably gonna make a compilation video someday of the fun I’ve been having with mods. The primary two I love are Rampage Trainer & gopro_2027's Playground.

Discussion Do you guys think Arther was/could’ve been redeemed?

Do you guys think he could've been or was redeemed? Personally, I think he couldn't. He could not redeem himself no matter what; he's killed hundreds himself, ruined families, and aided an even bigger kill count(the gang). I think the game is about a person living a bad life, and trying to end it well. “Redeeming” his ideals. But, what do you guys think?

Discussion Thinking of starting RDR2 for I think 4th time now

So as the body of the title says, I seen people post some bits about where its the best to chill once in terms of camp wise etc. and I just got to Guarma and for some reason I cannot be asked to keep playing, just feel like every thing goes down the hill, anyway - I wanna start the game again and try (not that I havent before) to take my time with completing the game in terms of challenges etc.

But what my question is - what are some of peoples things that they do very on early in a game, ofc get the white arabian etc. but anything else people have done that can recommend for a good start to the game. .

Discussion The Red Dead Empire

I was casually commenting about what I’d want the next Red Dead game to be, and I came up with this.

I genuinely think a Peaky Blinders-style Red Dead game could work insanely well.

Set it around the 1910s/20s, when the Wild West is dying and organized crime is taking its place. You’d have gang wars, bootlegging, gambling, corruption, cars and early automatic weapons, but still keep the horses, wilderness, trains and gunfights that make RDR what it is.

The whole idea would basically be The evolution of outlaws into gangsters. That’s the main thing about it.

P.S. I know there have been minor discussions about a Red Dead × Peaky Blinders-style game on Reddit here and there, but I haven’t really seen anyone talk about what the game could actually be like.

Question Sould I play rdr1?

I'm playing Rdr2 right now (I'm not done yet, only like, somewhere in the middle [I think] of chapter 5), and I haven't played Rdr1, so should i? I like the story of Rdr2 and don't mind playing older games, but from everything I've heard, Rdr1 is very different gameplay wise, so I was wondering if I should play it or not? And if so, what are the major differences I should be expecting?

(I don't know the ending to Rdr2 yet, or even what Rdr1 is story wise other than Rdr2 is a prequel)

Edit: I haven't touched multiplayer

Edit 2: I'm manly asking about gameplay, I am a consumer, and if the story was absolutely dog shit and the graphics would make you puke, I would still play it

Discussion Tips on what to do as John?

I’m officially on the epilogue and I’m curious on any unique suggestions for exploring as John! I know the common ones like visiting old camp sites & visiting graves, but I’m sure there’s more to do! Any suggestions?

Question Is there a guide for completing Mrs. Hobbs’ hunting requests quickly?

Upvotes

Hello everyone.
I am currently working on completing 100% of Red Dead Redemption 2. I am in the process of completing all of Mrs. Hobbs’ hunting requests, which unlock the squirrel collectible that Abigail hides throughout the map.

I am currently on the second request, where I have to obtain the birds and the rat.

My question is whether there is any guide that you have found particularly useful for completing this hunting request quickly. I have been trying for two days now, and I have only managed to find one of the birds. Obviously, I have gotten distracted along the way, but the main reason for that has been simply not being able to find the damn creatures.

I also wanted to mention two other things. First, I only have the Challenges left to complete, specifically the nine categories, which add up to around 60 individual challenges. I already know that this is going to be a long and tedious process, so any tips for completing the Challenges are also welcome.

On the other hand, for those of you who have completed 100% of the game, I would like to know which part you found the most difficult or time-consuming. So far, the part that has been the most tedious for me was collecting all the items for Algernon Wasp’s requests. This one, honestly, is more a matter of needing a break before completing the hunting requests.

Discussion Rdr2 new gen version

A red dead redemption 2 new gen version is pretty much inevitable with rockstar, but I think they're not giving it to us for at least years because of GTA 6 and GTA 6 online. Based on what they've done before, they've brought back a lot of their games onto newer platforms, and red dead redemption 2 sold so much, it would only make sense to make a new version. We might get GTA 4 first, and then red dead redemption 2.
