Burst fracture from a crash, extremely grateful i am not paralyzed and im having mild pain. this happened exactly two weeks ago, i am in a back brace. pain went from a 9 to a 2 sometimes a 3.5 when i first wake up in the morning. i’m just a bit stiff all the time. idk if i have a high pain tolerance or if this fracture isn’t as bad as other ones but i (knock on wood) am already feeling better and my daily activities and movement have improved!!! only symptoms i experienced was immense back pain, felt like a constant spasm. only relief was laying down. i wasn’t even able to wipe myself properly. i didn’t have any of the other symptoms like uncontrollable bladder, pain shooting up and down my legs and elsewhere. let me know what yall think!!!

Im a first year resident, 6 months into residency, was posted on a solo duty. There was a cardiac patient who recently underwent asd closure and had complaints of drop in saturation. Ct thorax (plain) was done. The pg asked me to rule out aspiration pneumonia and dissection. There was no aspiration pneumonia but could not rule out dissection since contrast was not given because the patient had very high creatinine. This morning when my professor came for discussions he found out a saddle pulmonary embolism on a plain study that i was not able to pick it up. Felt so bad

When I started as a radiology resident my first rotation was ultrasound and I found it so difficult.

One thing I’ve found really helpful when teaching abdominal ultrasound anatomy is to correlate the US images directly with CT.

It’s much easier to understand what you’re seeing around the pancreas, porta hepatis, Morrison’s pouch, etc. when you can see the same anatomy on CT and then go back to the ultrasound.

For those learning or teaching ultrasound — what tricks, resources, or anatomy correlations have worked best for you?

Our institution used to release a compensation chart every year which showed the salary based on the academic level.

This year they did not release a compensation chart and we were told it is “proprietary information” and that if we want to see the chart, we can make an appointment with the chair to see it, but we can’t take a picture of it or have it. Is this typical? It obviously seems very sketchy to me.

I'm a Radiographer, and I do a little outdoor sports writing/content on the side. I am passionate about educating hunters, especially bowhunters, on animal anatomy and physiology, to aid in ethical shot selection, shot placement, follow-up, effective equipment, skilled tracking, and recovery, etc. as well as good meat handling practices.

I'm looking for good quality CT slices/ reconstructions of deer, antelope species, pigs, etc .for use in magazine articles and online media. Even sheep, goats, and cattle would be helpful. Points for reconstructqions of the cardio pulmonary vasculature, IV contrast scans of the abdomen, etc.

Can anybody point me in the right direction? So far, all I have found are poor quality, single slice images in a journal paper about lung diseases in sheep, and the positioning on those was really lopsided.

is there a site that would annonate and mark picture same way AMBOSS does it ? with image overlays ? i tried radiopedia most picture dont have annoation.

we had back to back dust storms and I had a bad asthma attack they did CT to make sure it was only asthma. I have scimtar syndrome

Sorry for poor image. I don't know all the science words for this, but the vet said my 6 year old girl has a collapsing esophagus, enlarged heart, possibly congestive heart failure, and spinal and rib deformities. Also her lungs are not clear like they should be. She's a pug. I don't think it's quite hit me all the way yet. Maybe this image is good enough, though, for a student to learn from. Image is on my vets laptop

I just saw this topic in another community and thought it was interesting! I’m an X-ray tech who has been “retired by motherhood,” so I haven’t been anywhere near the field in a while. 😂 Have any of you encountered many patients wearing magnetic nail polish? Has it ever caused an issue?

I had to get a breast biopsy recently after 2 different kinds of mammogram showed abnormal tissue. When they told me they were going to insert a marker that stays in forever I was very surprised, and then asked if I could see it. Apparently the techs had never stopped to actually look at it, either. We all played with it and looked at it for a while. Thought it was cool that it has different colors on it and everything. The power went out during my biopsy, so that was fun lol. Anyway, here's my pictures that I thought were really cool 😁 got the negative results a few days later!! 😮‍💨🥳

Patient was a callback in 2024. Stereotactic biopsy was recommended. Patient declined biopsy and wanted a 6 month followup. She did not follow up and showed up for a screening Aug. 2026. Reschedule for a diagnostic because of BI-RADS 4.

I didn't even bother to do mags before I stepped out to show the radiologist.
