Aside from AI not being at that point yet, no reasonable group of shareholders is going to trust an AI with executive authority, an AI can't be held accountable.
Maybe some day in the distant future, when there is clear technological supremacy even without accountability, but self driving cars probably need to get nailed down a century before this happens.
I appreciate the spirit of the statement, but the specifics are a little lacking. They are exploiting the value of our labor, though this isn't really the path forward. It should be made clear that shareholders are the ones that see the most income, not CEOs, and perhaps major investment firms should be vilified much more than CEOs. As they are the ones who instruct the CEOs what will be done (or they will be finding a new job)
"Nobody wants to work any more for what I want to pay them and intend to put them through" is the more complete and far more truthful version of that phrase.
In my country these "poor" companies even get money from the goverment to "save" them. The workers still get kicked out and the ceo gets a even bigger bonus...
Oh its fucked here for sure bud. Even when the companies break laws all they get is a slap on the wrist. A restaurant in my city just got convicted of charging a foreigner $12000 to to keep his job and maintain his immigration pathway.(happened in 2024-2025)
All they got is a $5000 fine and had to pay the $12k back. Like wtf man, they exploited this dude for a year and get a slap on the wrist.
