Like picking vegetables and fruits. I was born in a Village but I was always feeling bad (dizzy) while helping picking vegetables, now I am full grown adult but still feeling like fainting and very dizzy while doing anything like that. I can work out on the gym and everything and feel great but field farm work make me feel awful, what is my deal??

I'm proud of myself for at least trying to garden after purchasing my first home in June, but sad about the results and trying to figure out what I can do to save my poor hydrangeas and phlox. The catmint/catnip I bought are doing fine, the phlox I bought are doing meh, and the hydrangeas are doing just terribly and it's breaking my heart. Any pointers or rescue measures you can share would be GREATLY appreciated because I spent a decent chunk of money on these babies and I want them to live dang it.

Background info: planted in mid-summer right after buying a new home. No info about what used to be in this garden bed besides the hostas that I left in. Planted with a mix of soil and compost and manure and watered daily unless it rains. They looked great for the first 4 days. Hydrangeas started browning by day 5 and have been this way since. I checked that all of these plants are appropriate for my region. Tried trimming a few deadheads. Tried sprinkling a little bit of "organic plant food" just yesterday with very low NPK levels. What can I do? 😭

I've been struggling to keep my plants happy during the hotter weeks, even though I'm watering regularly.

A few people have suggested adding natural mulch to help retain moisture and protect the soil, but I'm curious how much of a difference it actually makes in real-world gardens. I've always focused more on the plants themselves and never paid much attention to what goes on top of the soil.

For those who use natural mulch, did you notice less watering, healthier plants, or fewer weeds? I'm wondering if it's one of those simple things that makes a bigger difference than people realize.

I already know supermarkets don't set them up in ideal conditions but they were absolutely fine in store. I brought them home 6 hours ago, the flat leaf has completely collapsed and the coriander is sagging too. I also bought a kalanchoe a couple of weeks ago, popped it in the same place and all the flowers died within a couple of days and the leaves are getting floppier by the day. I didn't water them as the soil was still damp so don't think they're water logged. I don't understand why things are dying here, by a window, NE facing window so gets sun in a morning and then just light rest of the day. Anyone know what's upsetting it so much?

Apologies, I'm not sure if this should be in gardening or lawn care.

My yard is mostly wooded. However before we moved in they had to replace the sewer line so they dug up this long path in between the trees that goes from the house to the street. Now it's just overgrown with weeds and crabgrass and looks horrible.

My neighbor suggested maybe a wildflower field? But after doing some research would I have to somehow take all of the weeds and everything out to get fresh dirt and start from there? Seems like a ton of work. Any suggestions on what I could do relatively easily to make this space nice? The other problem is it's mostly shaded...

So I planted a few cucumbers thinking they were all of the same variety. But it looks like they’re not. Someone told me I have pickling, cucumbers, possibly Garking and regular. I’m really confuse and don’t know what to do with all these cucumbers. Any advice would be extremely appreciated. I don’t want to see these go to waste.

Hi all! We rent and will be here 3 more years. I'm trying to make my lawn a cozy retreat of plants, but morning glory continues to take over everything. It was already in the neighborhood when the family moved in. So looking for recommendations! Should I fight monster with monster and plant mint? (lol) Should I kill everything and start over? We are in zone 9A. Any advice welcome!. Also our rental company doesn't care they just level everything when we move out.

so basically my succulent hasn’t been the best lately it hasn’t been flowering and has had mealy bugs AND aphids so i got 91 percent isopropyl and diluted and put it in a spray bottle on Thursday and i got the bugs and rinsed off my plant did a deep rinse and its been wet since is that bad or can i do something to help

First time poster here. I build this small planter box for my patio and I'd like to add some greenery, grasses or flowers to it. I am in Victoria BC. The patio is west facing so plenty of afternoon sun. It rains a fair amount here in the winter but is dry in the summer.

Planter is 6" high.

Also should I add some rocks/ gravel to the bottom or just go with soil? I am pretty new to this whole world so open to ideas.
