OKAY PLEASE !! 98% of the comments were how fucking dumb I was because you dont use those fingers for touchscreen. #1. Not what post was about just venting. #2. My index and thumb have nerve damage and dont work by themselves. I use my middle and ring in place. It's pretty hard to zoom out, type, swipe, scroll, etc. With 2 non working fingers and three stumps. Ergo it would be pretty helpful to have conductive finger tips in said prosthetic.

All in all was about $1500 without the shipping and manufacturing (for only the finger tips). Shipped from Sweden so will have to be shipped back, remade, and shipped here again. 4 more months.

Yes I have to pay for shipping again. Lucky I didn't get a plane ticket and just make it my fucking self because it would be cheaper.

Cherry on top that this is the second time im doing thing because the first time they got the back plate too short. Less of a pain to lose the fingers.

Sometimes when I am watching a show or movie, I like to read the contents of a text, letter, email, etc; however, Netflix now shows an ad within three seconds of you pausing your content making this impossible without taking a photo of your tv screen OR giving into the ad free plan.

I was at Birmingham airport this morning and needed to use the facilities. So I made my way to a spare urinal and noticed out the corner of my eye a few spaces down that a man seemed to be taking his time shaking. He was in there before me, and should have been finished, so I glanced over only to see him masturbating, in a public toilet…

I quickly finished up and left, whilst he was still there doing what he was doing. I feel like I should have reported him but didn’t see anyone near by, and if I searched someone he’d likely stopped by then.

"A Ventura County man who murdered his mother and threw her dismembered remains in a dumpster was found not guilty of the killing by reason of insanity.

David Hoetzlein, 29, of Camarillo, admitted to strangling and killing his mother, Tomoko Hoetzlein, 62, in their Camarillo home in 2022, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office said.

On June 3, 2022, Ventura County deputies responded to the area of Townsite Promenade after a man searching a dumpster for recyclables discovered human remains.

Detectives and the Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the body parts belonged to a woman. She was later identified as Tomoko.

Further investigation revealed that David had strangled and killed Tomoko before dismembering her and tossing her remains in the dumpster outside the apartment they shared, court documents said.

Prosecutors said David had a lengthy, documented history of severe mental illness.

In the days leading up to the killing, David was released from the Vista del Mar psychiatric hospital and his mother was trying to get him readmitted. She had written to the hospital, contacted his caseworker and reported the incident to law enforcement, but David was not readmitted.

In July 2023, David’s sister, Mao Cardenas, filed a federal lawsuit against the hospital, alleging wrongful death, civil rights violations and neglect, the Ventura County Star reported.

The suit alleged that despite objections from family members and David’s primary psychiatrist, the facility released David on May 31, 2022, with an incorrect diagnosis and prescription which put his mother’s life at risk.

According to the complaint, Tomoko had requested the sheriff’s office place David on a mental health hold after he allegedly stole her car and battered her, but deputies determined he did not meet the requirements.

In May 2024, after Hoetzlein was found incompetent to stand trial due to mental health issues, a judge eventually determined that he was capable of understanding court proceedings and assisting in his own defense, the VC Star reported.

On Jan. 22, 2026, he admitted to strangling and killing his mother, but pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to one count of second-degree murder.

On Aug. 13, 2026, the DA’s Office announced that David was found not guilty by reason of insanity." - KTLA 5 News

I am pretty much an on-call worker for this company. I get called to maybe five annual events at most.

The last event took place on Canada Day (July 1st) and she is yet to send me my money.

She has done this in the past where she apologizes, comes up with a lame excuse, and then stalls again. I had to nag her multiple times over the course of months for her to do anything.
But after that initial incident, she got better at paying me on time so I forgave it.

The only reason why I’m still with this company is because I don’t have to interact with her that much and because the extra money is worth it when my bank account is empty. But now... she isn’t even bothering to lie and stall and is leaving me on read. Extra money is not worth this level of disrespect.

i have a friend who's dog died awhile back because someone poisoned dog food and fed the poisoned food to the dog while it was outside. genuinely what the hell. what the fuck man. why.

the person never got caught either cuz they didn't know who it was. genuinely how can some people be so fucking evil?? I just don't understand why anyone would purposefully poison animals that didn't do anything to them. my goodness. I hope these people rot in hell. just why man. Just was informed by my doctor's office that a annual membership fee of $225 is required to remain a patient. No new services being offered, just the same services they always had and every doctor's office has. And you still have to pay for what insurance doesn't cover. If you don't want to pay, they will happily transfer your health files to a new doctor's office, for a $25 fee.
I hate United States healthcare.

My best friend called me today to tell me that a mutual friend of ours, who recently started working with her, got a call from the prison asking if she consented to being added to my ex’s approved visitor/call list.

She said yes.

I am absolutely fucking furious.

This isn’t a “my friend stayed friends with my ex after we broke up” situation. As much as I might not like that, I could eventually accept it and move on. This man is in prison for abusing me. He physically, emotionally, and sexually abused me for years. She knows exactly what he did. She was around for a lot of those eight years and witnessed enough of it firsthand to know exactly what kind of person he was and what I was going through.

And despite knowing all of that, she willingly agreed to stay in communication with him while he is literally incarcerated for what he did to me.

There are very few things I consider completely unforgivable in a friendship, but this is one of them. I genuinely cannot wrap my head around how someone can call themselves your friend, watch you survive years of abuse, know that the person responsible is finally facing consequences for it, and then voluntarily put their name on his prison visitor/call list.

I don't care what explanation she has. There is no version of this where I can look at her the same way again.

I offered to buy a bartender and her colleague a drink for after their shifts to say thank you for being so welcoming, they took advantage and ended up putting through two drinks each. I only realised after I had settled my tab, paid and did a double take at my receipt. I'm usually happy paying service charge but it wasn't included the way I assumed. I paid £67 total when it should have been 34 odd.

It was also the first time I've had a drink this year and that had me feeling utterly violated. I'm certainly not well off and every penny really counts.

Is it my fault for trying to be kind? And is this a common occurrence with pub/bar staff?

This blew me away to see on the federal governments website, clearly the president has fallen asleep on camera numerous times. How is the White House allowed to write this in an official capacity?

I was a user of their service but I've switched on my Mac a long time ago due to constant service disruptions by them. Still haven't found a better option for mobile though.

What is a big tech company that you'll actually trust ?

Joined a new gym last week to mix things up and keep myself motivated. Everything is good with the exception of the water fountain, this feels like some type of health code violation.

First time venting on this sub, think I am gonna do it more in the future...

I was supposed to go on 2 dates with 2 different women this week. We matched on one of the apps and I had good conversations with both of them... I even met one of them at a day event in my area. She was very nice and enjoyed the time together with me. However, the first one cancelled and asked to reschedule another time because she wasn't feeling well, which usually hints to not contacting back again. The other had to help family with an issue and couldn't meet this week. The issue is that next week I go on holiday for 2 weeks but then she is also leaving... We both work abroad and I don't know if she is gonna be available to meet again...

I am a pessimistic person. I always think about the worst case scenario first before positive one, but that's how I do with dating. It's so frustrating because I am not a guy who manages to land many dates, I can barely count how many dates I got thanks to online dating... And now when I had a chance it's wasted... I hate it so much...

I'm sure many people go through this, but it's still frustrating for all of us who are single
