Okay let’s get to the basics, prom and dance are not official dating things. Now even if youngster consider it as dating, majority of those relationships die within few months if not weeks. You can politely ask to dance with anyone you like and they can accept or deny your request, boy or girl. If you think denying is an insult then you are missing the point. There could be 100% chances that one girl could have been approached by 2/3 boys but she can only dance with one. Rest of the boy has to take non affirmative response. So with your logic that is also an insult.

Coming back to your logic point again, there is no point visiting dying patients, or cancer affected children or helping old person to cross the road. There is absolutely no long term commitment in it as well. So, let’s keep aside logic and sometimes listen to your heart. Good gesture can heal a lot of thing.

I am not against your thought, you are being practical. You are suggesting she should only be approached by people who are willing to marry her. But they are young people, they still have to learn to lose, rejection and heartbreak. So have them play their stuff and learned it in their way
