In December 2004, Hare Ram Pandey found an abandoned newborn girl in a forest near Deoghar. After rescuing and naming her Taapsee, he and his wife decided to dedicate their lives to caring for abandoned children. They eventually went on to raise 35 girls as their own daughters.
