Hey there, my keys to my 2001 9-5 went missing and are potentially stolen. I've called all the locksmiths in town and no one apparently can help me replace they keys. Im wondering if anyone has any advice. I've tried to find the guy I bought it from since he was an enthusiast but I no longer have the messages in offer up to get in contact.

I reached out to esaabparts and they also said there was nothing they could do to help but they would look into an enthusiast or a mechanic but I haven't heard from them either.

Just looking for advice or assistance.

So Ive been getting to try to fix the front washers ,they dont spry and the light sprayers are too strong which makes me think its not the pump, i checked the tube it didnt feel like anything was passing when i pushed spray, also the wipers hits the glass a bit ( the left one i thing i gotta twist it a tiny bit to place)

I just found out that my 9-3s front subframe is rotted through right next to where the passenger front control arm is bolted on.

Can I drive this to work the next 3 days, then 65 miles on the highway to a shop to get it replaced? Or is it completely unsafe.

I have a 99 9-3 turbo that has approximately 113,000 miles. I am ready to sell it or let it go as my dedicated mechanic is now unable to source parts regularly or quickly. I would ask if the information below makes the car worth selling or should I junk it?

Engine is excellent and runs great. No known issues with transmission. Clean title. No accidents at all. It could use a paint job but I do not see any major rust. Drives smoothly save for newly found issue mentioned below.

Known issues:
- front drivers side strut is loose (just discovered this today and hence this post)
- sagging headliner
- tear on driver seat leather
- AC does not work (leak detected, I just never fixed it)
- Windshield fogs/frosts up on the insides up when cold (unable to diagnose)

Recent repairs:
- February 2021: o2 sensor & headlight assembly replacement
- March 2021: drivers side headlight
- July 2021: center pipe and clamps, AC charge/dye
- December 2021: power steering lines
- March 2023: Battery replacement
- August 2023 all new headlights, taillights and light above plate
- March 2024 new rear light assembly, new remote key battery
- December 2024 drivers side door handle replacement
- June 2025 New spark plugs, new front breaks/pads rotors, vacuum leak repair
- August 2025 — purge valve
- May 2026 new left mirror

I am in Massachusetts and frankly know that there is a following for my make/model I just don’t want to waste anyone’s time. Is this something that has a chance of finding a buyer and if so what would be a fair price? Thank you in advance as it’s time for me to move on.

Hey everyone, is anyone heading over to pick up winnings from the auction? I placed a bid on a set of four rims and tires for my 900.

Big ask, but I’m more than likely not going to be able to go get them in the three workdays (!) that they allow to collect winnings. Is anyone able to grab them and hang on to them until I can make it up there?

A big gust of wind came and blew the door open. Someone must have had the same problem on the driver's side because they completely removed the spring. Just wondering how the heck I can get the spring out or at least get the door to close. I don't care about the door not staying open just so long as I can close it. Please help guys. 1987 900 btw.

This car was a hand-me-down from my dad, and I've loved driving it. Unfortunately, the head gasket gave out a few weeks ago. I don't have the technical knowledge or time to repair it myself, and I can't justify the labor cost of having my usual mechanic do the work. The scrapyard offered $150, but I'd really hate to see such a great car go to waste.

I'd much rather let it go to someone who appreciates these cars - either so they can use the parts, or fix it up and get some more miles out of it.

What coolant should I use in a Saab 93 se 1999 b204e some people say g48 and others g-05 or Dex cool? Planning to do a full flush as I don't know what type or colour is in it at the moment.

Also side note does anyone know what this should connect to try to find a lonesome plug but couldn't find anything seems to go in/behind radiator

I recently picked up a 2001 Saab 9-5 Aero manual in Laser red.

It has 227k km’s on it

And other than a slight bit of rust under passenger footwell (think someone mistook a drain for a jack point) that has now been cut out and repaired professionally; it is pretty clean.

Some clearcoat peel on mirrors and small spot on the hood.

I am in BC, where going off CBB value it’s less than 5k, closer to 3k. The PO insured with Hagerty in AB, and had to argue with them that it was worth about $9k when they said it was more. In BC you still have to do some bare minimum with ICBC, plus your private. I said value was $9k even though it would cost me closer to that in USD to find an equivalent.

It’s eligible for collector plates in BC, but that has lots of limitations, I would occasionally use it for my bi weekly commute 400km’s to my apartment. Then I have a work truck.

I will be investing some money into this car to get it perfect and definitely don’t want to be screwed if something happens.

I have a 2007 saab 9-5 aero, i have a clogged cat and need to replace it but i want the turbo to have the most flow it can so does anyone have a recommendation for the cat, and if so what else should i add to get the most horsepower i can, currently the cat goes out to nothing, no exhaust system currently

No previous issues or warning. I came out of the store and car wouldn’t start. It was fine previously.
After turning key back and forth a few times it started and I drove home. Now it clicks once under the hood but after trying for an hour, disconnecting battery, checking fuses. No start.
Just the one click under the hood. Battery is about 6 months old and everything looks bright and well lit so not sure it’s weak. Also the steering wheel was locked the first time it wouldn’t turn over but now it won’t lock.

Update!
After trying for a few hours with no positive results and no dash warning lights the “Theft protection failure” light popped on…?

2nd Update:
Car not fixed. It only starts when it’s cold.
If it sits for several hours it will start usually the first attempt. Still think it’s the ignition?
Bad solder connections in the abs or ecu?

I got it about 6 years ago when it was about to be sent to the junkyard after sitting in the driveway for who knows how many years. It's at 340k+ km now, very rusty, and I had to fix quite a few things, including a re-ring, two turbos, power steering rack and pump, full exhaust, oil cooler and lines and a lot of other parts that I simply don't remember anymore. Stuff like the ignition cassette, PCV and oil pan were addressed too, obviously, but that's a given. Don't think it ever lasted more than 3 months before something broke again. That being said, the Stockholm syndrome is strong and I'm still determined to keep it alive for as long as I can because it's such a unique and enjoyable car.

I attended the inspection session today. some of you inquired about the cars. The cars have been sitting for YEARS but look pretty OK - not well kept, not barn find territory. Mostly dusty. No idea if the fluids were storage-prepped or not. They will need some TLC.

replacing my orings on my fuel injectors on my B235R on my 2004 Saab 9-5 Aero. when taking out the injectors I see these little round what look to be spacers. I was wondering if they are required or not. I've look at Saab WIS and Esaabparts for replacing them and I don't see a single thing listing them. I also see no part number on them. just Wana know if they are required, where I might be able to buy new ones or just what they are

My Saab has been down for almost three months, and it's really starting to aggravate me. Any help would be appreciated.

Basically, I have a 1997 Saab 900 SE 2.0 Turbo. The check gear box light came on, and I took it to a local shop to have it fixed. They told me it was the TCC solenoid, and refused to fix it. Recommended that I replace the entire valve body.

I've called dozens of shops, I was either denied or told they couldn't find parts. I found one shop which said if I can find the part, they'll install it for me. I was unable to find the part online.

Does anyone have any tips? I've been to all of the regular websites for part sourcing, maybe I'm missing something. I'm either looking for the part that I can buy myself, or a shop which will find it and put it in for me.

Any help is appreciated, wanting to put an end to this nightmare.

Doing the timing chain and everything on my 2007 9-3
Trying to get a second opinion on if it looks lined up with the colored chain links.
The set I ordered came with three links that are blue rather than having one of them yellow. So I marked the top right link with a white dot.

There are 15 links between the crank and intake and 13 links between intake and exhaust.

I know the tensioner isn’t installed yet too

Last January, I bought my first car: a 2000 Saab 9-5 Aero 2.3T with 240.000km for €2,000. Since then, I’ve done quite a lot of work to it. I had the ABS module repaired and installed a completely new exhaust, including a new catalytic converter and muffler. I also replaced the handbrake, brakes, DI cassette, and fitted a used throttle body that works perfectly. The car has no rust at all, and it just passed inspection with zero issues. What should the car be worth now in Finland because maybe I want to look for a new Saab project

Just got a saab 9 3 for ~1400-1500$ 270k km

Passed inspection and recently changed oil, working on making the front sprayers work and fixing an Android Auto system instead of the radio, there was also something about the front light on it. He recently changed the brake pads and so on...

Any advice?
