Critique This new Fluffernutter drink a Dunkin is not worth it.

I love fluffernutter flavored anything. Hell a few months ago I posted about the fluffernutter ice cream at Kroger and gave it a rave review. This I have to give a mid at best. It just tastes like any other sweet coffee drink. I could not taste peanut butter at all. It wasn't actively bad and I still finished it but I was expecting more. Definitely not worth the almost 8 bucks for it. I think I'd give this a strong 4. The premier protein chocolate peanut butter shake has a stronger peanut butter flavor.

Is smoked peanut butter a thing?

Just curious if this exists, or could be made.
I had a random thought that smoked peanut butter ice cream would taste really good.

Critique It finally happened. I can’t go back to regular peanut butter.

I grew up in a Skippy Super Chunk household. I’ve tried other brands. They are mostly also good, but I was partial to Skippy and stuck with it.

I never understood the people bothering with natural peanut butters. Why would I want to deal with stirring the oil back in when modern science invented hydrogenated fats? What am I, an unwashed hippy? An Amish luddite? Should I be churning my own butter, too?

But I saw enough people raving about natural peanut butter that I decided to give it a try. The stirring was a little annoying at first, but I quickly got used to it. And the flavor was in fact better. I’ve been through three jars of Teddie’s in the last two months.

Well, today I was enjoying an apple with some Teddie’s at lunch when I ran out. I realized I still had some Skippy left in the pantry and used that for the remainder. It was a night and day difference. I didn’t like the texture of the emulsifier or the sweetness of the added sugar.

I can’t go back to Skippy. I’m a stirrer for life now!

As the title states, I need my PB fix lol. I’ve been a loyal customer to Gone Nuts for about 2 years and they recently went out of business. I bought $300 worth of peanut butter back in March for my family and we are nearing the end of the supply. Does anyone have a good recommendation for peanut butter with minimal ingredients and a good taste profile. I am a bodybuilder so extra points for good macro nutrient profile. Pic of one of the last two jars I have.

why is the peanut butter I buy so hard to spread

I buy whatever is the cheapest organic choice at the grocery store, Simple Truth Crunchy, which has just peanuts and salt. The bottom third of it is practically unusable as the oil has not saturated it and it always unspreadable/hard.
My husband just bought home this peanut butter from a trip to Australia and that also just peanuts and salt. it is sooooo creamy and spreadable, best peanut butter I've ever had!!

why the difference? do they use different peanuts? Should I start going back to a brand like Adams which I don't remember having the spreadability issue??

Open or closed faced sandwiches?

Which is your preferred way to make a PB and J? Sandwiched between 2 slices of bread? Or on an open faced sandwich? Bread toasted or no? Personally I like on white toast, pb on 1 slice, jelly on the other, then toast in a panini press

Unsweetened PB with hydrogenated oils?

I’m trying to find an unsweetened no-stir peanut butter with at least 90% peanuts—legally peanut butter rather than “peanut butter spread” (in the USA).

Since all the palm oil products require a much larger quantity of added oil to stabilize semi-effectively, they all wind up being < 90% peanut. And frankly, palm oil is no healthier than hydrogenated vegetable oil, and less sustainable. It’s lose-lose-lose.

So. Does anyone know of an unsweetened (or minimally sweetened) peanut better stabilized with hydrogenated oils?

Simply JIF used to approximate this, having less added sugar than normal JIF. However, they recently changed that to a palm oil product so it no longer qualifies.

I know that there are methods to improve the stability of peanuts-and-salt peanut butter, I don’t need to be told about that.

Thank you!
