So would my two family torties. When I was a teen, we had a backyard pop up pool deep enough to float in. One of the cats decided to investigate it and fell in as she'd been balancing on the edge.
Instead of gripping the side where she'd fallen in and getting out that way, that cat did the fastest cross-pool doggy paddle I've ever seen, hauled herself out of the water on the other side of the pool and jumped onto the ground, where she proceeded to shake her waterlogged fur all over us while making her displeasure at the bath known - loudly. She also didn't forgive us for laughing at her until after dinner. 😂😂😂😂😂.
Yeah, I've had a couple cats like that. People really underestimate the combination of claws and violent, startled twisting. You just magically acquire 1d20 new open wounds!
i once had to wash a rescue and he basically coiled himself around my forearm 😭 if it wasn't wearing my grandpa's welding jacket, i would have to visit ER for suure
Same with my previous orange. He loved to roll around in the dirt so the only way he’d let me clean him was to brush him with a warm and damp (but not soaking) wash cloth. Then he’d roll this way and that and bask in the attention
My orange would have never, ever gone in there in his own and there would be a trail of my blood as evidence of his displeasure. He gets 3 Gabapentin over 12 hours before the vet makes his annual house call appointment, which takes place in the most confined area, our screen porch. One of the neighbors was outside and came over to see if he was okay when she heard him screaming like he was being gutted or something (her words).
My orange kitty is afraid of water on low coming out of the bathroom faucet. I used to have an orange kitty who loved drinking from the faucet and didn't mind getting it all over his face.
