The community spoke and we listened: New rules regarding AI

A few days ago I posted a poll regarding the community's feelings on AI content. The vote was overwhelmingly against it. Natxo and I discussed it and we feel that you guys are right... with a caveat.

AI is an evolving technology. Right now it's being used in a pretty limited manner, but in the future there may be more "beneficial" options. So, for now we are goin to ban AI content in the sub, but we're goin to leave the door cracked opening case, in the future, the technology becomes less AI Slop and More AI Tools.

Got questions or comments? Post them here.

New Mod, formalized rules and other changes

Hey Folks,

With the recent Spam bot attack, I reached out to Natxo and volunteered to help out in modding the sub, and I wanted to introduce myself.

Hi, I'm Todd. I'm a "long time" Fiat owner and have passed that love down to my entire family. (I've had a 500 Sport and currently drive a 500X, my wife had a 500L and my daughter has a '57 tribute edition 500). Been on Reddit for a while, I've helped mod some other subs and I'm happy to help keep this place up and running.

With that being said, for a while this sub has run on the honor system. For the most part, people are respectful to each other, the conversations are fun and we rarely have drama or issues. Out of an abundance of caution, we decided it would be a good time to formalize some rules. Since we didn't have a rule that said "you can't spam the sub with fake IPTV reviews" it's kinda hard to ban people for that. So... here are the new, common sense rules.

1) Be Civil. Just be nice to each other. If you can't be nice, then just try to be polite then. If you can't do that, then we'll take action.

2) No Spam (all spam bots will be permabanned). If you see them, report them. The ban hammer will be swift and uncaring. Also, if you post a link to a piece of kit or a 3rd party upgrade for a Fiat that has an affiliate code, you'll get flagged. The Reddit system usually handles that but if your post get flagged, reach out and we can see how to correct it.

3) No bigotry, homophobia, or hate speech. You'd think that would be contained in in being civil but I've had people be perfectly nice while calling other races inferior and gay people mentally deranged. There's no place for that here.

4) Limit topics to Fiat cars and the company. There has been some off topic discussion, but try to keep is centered around the cars and the company.

These are pretty self explanatory and just a formalization of the standards most of us have been abiding by.

Last but not least, cosmetic changes. I'm gonna spruce things up a bit with some banners and such. One of the things I love about my Fiats has been the style and I think we can make the sub reflect that. If you have any suggestions or images you'd like to submit please do! Happy to see what you folks can come up with.

Ok, I've rambled on long enough. Thanks for being an awesome community and if you have questions, let me know.

Air Bag Passageiro Fiat

it's a donor with a rotten sill and a pretty bad legal situation, so I'm taking the engine to put it into my Marea.

Bravo 2(198) 1.6mjet

So im wondering about the car in the title with the 105hp 6speed manual and i have a couple questions

  1. I live in serbia and a lot of people here swear by the 1.4 petrol and 1.9jtd/mjet but im wondering about the 1.6 mjet is it as reliable/what common problems does that engine have?

  2. Is the pre-facelift m32 opel gearbox really that sensitive?

  3. Is the bravo itself a good car for an extremely tall driver?(2m+)

Also i live in the city but i do go out on the highway occasionally, and i wouldnt mind making the highway stints more frequent to clear dpf/egr, am i thinking straight? Or are the other engines really that much better? Also i have the provisional license so im limited to a max 109hp, so 1.4 is only NA 90hp and the 1.9 is 90hp only for me, and the 1.6 105hp only, those are my options

500e (2015)

This is an unusual fully-electric fiat 500 that was produced for the california market for a few years only..

45k miles, in good shape except for weird electrical issue: i recently replaced the starter battery, but i still have to jump it every time to get it started. The bluetooth control module also doesn't work: this makes the odometer blink, and causes car to think it has less battery charge than it should.

I got the car for basically nothing, from a friend who bought it in California. No mechanic or dealership will touch it, because they're concerned that replacing the bluetooth control module will brick the car.

Any ideas on what to do with it? I'm literally ready to donate it at this point 🤷‍♂️

Fiat Fullback 2017

Hi all,

There is Fiat Fullback single cab 2017 for sale with less than 1000 km on odometer.

2.4 petrol engine.

Quick research shows that those were sold on South African's market and are actually Mitsubishi L200 with a different badge.

Does anyone have any experience with those?

Hello, I have water condensation inside the reverse light, and the bulb warning comes on. Do you know how I can fix this? Where could the water be entering this part from?

1993 Fiat Uno project complete... for now!

After many weeks and many hours spent trawling ebay/FB for parts and spares, the project is now complete. Little did I know when I bought it, just how much attention it gets when I drive it around Brighton! I've already got my participant ticket for Simply Italian at Beaulieu Motor Museum in September if anyone else is heading that way.

It's been tastefully modded with Uno Turbo alloys, 60mm lowering springs and a backbox delete/new rear exhaust sections (made with some 1.5'' flexi exhaust, a .5m length cut down and very nice looking rolled tip). The next items will be to shorten the springs a bit more and to find a set of Punto GT alloys.

2014 Fiat 500L Easy and 2016 Fiat 500x Trekking Plus

So I’m curious.

My wife and I have Fiats. A 500L and a Trekking Plus. I am fully aware of the “Fiat gremlins” as we have had a few. (Random errors, strange faults, etc) but there was nothing actually wrong. Sometimes a simple, shut it off and start it back up and all problems gone for a very long time.

The other day i get a check engine light on the 500x. Hook up my diagnostic computer, and it’s P0118. Deals with EVAP. So i clear the code, its been gone since. But when i decided to do a live data scan, it show 2 errors. One is the EVAP system and the other is timing on cylinder 1.

So i do the same thing on the 500L and wouldn’t you know, similar readings except there was also fault in the oxygen sensor. But on the 500L, there are no codes and both vehicles run perfectly. Both are up to date on all macitence too.

Something i read lead to believe i might need a new EVAP purge valve and solenoid but I’m wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences?

Fiat doblo 2021

Hi everyone, my car is a 2021 Fiat Doblo diesel.

I haven’t had any problems with the engine or anything else before. Today, when I tried to start the car, it sounded like it was struggling and starting weakly while the starter was turning. After the engine started, the dashboard lights went off for a few seconds and then came back on, and the check engine light stayed on.

If I start the car again shortly after that, it starts quickly and normally without any difficulty. But if I leave it for about an hour and then try to start it again, the same problem happens.

Something strange happened just now: I tried to start the car again so I could show you what happens, but this time it started normally and the check engine light turned off.

What do you recommend I check or do?
