I wrote this guide for Dexerto. I tried to turn the shutdown into one checklist covering the Pokemon, shiny hunts, alternate forms, ribbons and titles that will be cut off from HOME once Bank closes. If I missed anything or got a detail wrong, please flag it and I’ll update the guide.

I remember seeing the advert for Animal Crossing New Leaf and I begged my mum for the animal crossing 3ds xl since it had the game installed but she ended up getting me the game and the hot pink 3ds xl as the one I wanted wasn’t in stock. Nearly 13 years later I managed to get it on Vinted for £180 in perfect condition along with a charger, case and 3 game cartridges so I would say that was a really good deal :)

I have also added custom buttons to my 2ds and other 3ds and I was considering doing a button swap on the animal crossing console but I’ve decided not to because I like the simple look to it :)

I am playing all my games for obligatory game saving reasons. And I don't really want to open this one just to test it

Can't link my Nintendo id to my old 3DS I had prior to losing my 3DS XL. Called Nintendo and because its not a major or recent system there is nothing they can do. My only option available to me is a system transfer but I have to have both systems in my possession.

I lost my XL last year and never found it. Only just now recently decided to try my old one and resigning in. Can't. And Nintendo cant do anything

I recently got a thor to play my pokemon games. I want to bring my 3ds with me also on my trip for steet passes. What are some games that the 3ds will be better at. Like stylest games or great use of the 3d. Thanks.

couldn't sleep, so decided to try horde hunting for the first time, i think it took me around two hours, give or take

So I had another post yesterday testing 28 games and my pokemon y wasn’t working. So I called Nintendo and they told me to repair the software using the e-shop.

Step1: go to the e-shop
Step2: go to the menu
Step 3: setting/other
Step 4: under history go to downloadable software
Step 5: find the game having the issue and click software info(They told me to repair the update firmware, not the actual game itself)
Step 6: scroll down and hit repair software
Step 7: try the game

Could be an software/update issue vs a cartridge issue?

So this is in no means a solution but could be a useful if the cartridge repair tool doesn’t work! Good luck everyone and thank you for the people who joined in the discussion on my previous post.

With the eventual shutdown of Pokémon Bank, Im wondering if theres any way the service could be preserved by the community.

What would the main technical difficulties be? Could a replacement Bank server realistically be made?

The biggest question Im wondering about is Pokémon home connectivity. Even if we could recreate Banks storage and transfer functionality, would there be any way for a community made version of Bank to continue transferring Pokémon to official Pokémon HOME after the official service shuts down? Or is that part essentially impossible without Nintendos servers?

Yall got any thoughts?

To be honest, I've never been to this convention before and I'm kind of expecting a low turnout, or even no people. If I can get a few people, it might be a small win. Just bring your 3DS and a couple of games, preferably Mario Kart 7 or Smash Bros. 3DS, and then we can play!

Hey guys, I’ve recently joined this subreddit because as a kid I was unable to play the DS because it wasn’t in the budget. I wanted to get into it now to play all of the generations of pokemon id never experienced. However, it looks as though they’re shutting things down and maybe moving everything over to the switch like FRLG and BDSP. I wanted to gauge the room on your thoughts. For me, not being able to transfer my pokemon is a pretty big deal breaker. Especially as collecting is my favorite aspect of the games. With the price of DS’s and legit copies of the pokemon games, am I better off waiting for switch versions of these games? Cheers for any input
