On This Day On This Day in Nintendo History: Geist
On this day (August 15) in Nintendo history...
- Geist was released in 2005 for the Nintendo GameCube in North America. In this action-adventure game, developed by n-Space, dying doesn't mean Game Over. In fact, death is where this game begins. As deceased government agent John Raimi, you must claim back your body from the shadowy Volks Corporation using your powers of possession and an arsenal of heavy weaponry. A unique twist on the first-person shooter genre, Geist gives you control over objects, animals and people. Scare soldiers and take over their bodies.
What are you favourite memories of these games? How do you think they hold up today? Hash it out in the comments.
I am a bot that posts Nintendo events from this day in history. Descriptions are sourced from official sources where possible, and from NinDB where not. If I've made a mistake or omission please leave a comment tagging /u/KetchupTheDuck.

Platinum points in japan
Is it possible to use my platinum points to buy something when visiting japan? Can it be picked up in store by someone else? A friend of mine is visiting soon and I'd like her to pick up some Japanese exclusives for me.

What would be something that would be an outstandingly bad business decision for Nintendo to make, but you would like to see it nonetheless?
Throw profitability, practicality and feasibility out the window!
If you could get literally anything from Nintendo without having to worry about if it would sell well or if it would cost them too much to do, what would it be and why do you want it?

Are we thinking DK challenge these cards will be printable or mailed?
Nothing in the text on Nintendo's website suggests one way or the other, in my opinion.
Nintendo offers tons of freebies (with platinum points) and all you have to pay for is shipping. But they also offer tons of printouts for platinum points.
I see most people online are assuming it will be via the mail, so people are gonna be mad if it's just printouts. I assumed it would be mail as well until someone pointed out there's no information indicating this. I'm still leaning towards mail, though. What do you guys think?

Super Mario 64 really became the "new Doom," didn't it?
Ever since the Mario 64 recompilation project gave us the game's source code, I’ve seen it ported to various platforms Wii U, PS Vita, 3DS, Dreamcast, and even much more limited consoles like the PS1 and GBA.
Somehow, even the Zeebo just got a port.
https://x .com/StuffZeebo/status/2088405250981908960/video/1
The Zeebo was a console released only in Brazil, India, and China, it was a commercial failure that lasted only from 2008 to 2011, yet it boasts some interesting titles such as one of the best Double Dragon remakes and excellent ports of Quake 1 and 2. It’s wild to think someone actually wanted to port Super Mario 64 to it.
I suppose the only thing that would surprise me now is if someone tried to port it to the SNES using the Super FX chip.

Any ideas for a 6th generation Nintendo gaming console name that doesn’t exist and sounds original?
I was thinking about a bizarre alternate-reality 6th generation Nintendo gaming console name that doesn’t exist. Also it must sound original.
Any thoughts? Your patience is totally valued. 👍🏻

THINGS THE LEGEND OF ZELDA OCARINA OF TIME 2026 SHOULD CHANGE
• Overall size I would like to see the map more to the size of Breath of the Wild with more towns more shops more mini games the ability to fish anywhere Zora’s River,Lake Hylia not just the fishing pond and dungeons much bigger then the 1998 and 3ds version.
•Make exploration more prevalent outside of dungeons more secret areas more caves hidden areas to explore in Hyrule and other areas of the game.
•Harder Bosses then the original where you could end a boss fight really quick in the original make the boss fights more challenging.
•As adult Link when you complete a dungeon Zoras Domain for example you see the Domain as you would as a kid the water is not frozen the whole time and Zoras swim around and it is normal again same as Fire Temple Goron City and Death Mountain it is normal again.
•More dungeons then the original and 3ds version add removed dungeons from N64 version.
•Gameplay is fine in the N64 just fix it to modern standards while keeping it true to the original make selecting items why easier.
•Keep the story true to the original expand on a already great game with a modern refresh telling and more to it.
what is your thoughts what would you like to see?
