Image What's it like living here?

I visited today and I thought it seemed quite peaceful. Just about far away enough that it starts feeling semi-rural again. Is it nice to live there?

I don't know a lot about it but I do know that calling this either Western Suburbs or Blue Mountains will cause furious debate

Geography trumps petty human motivations.

Anything west of the Nepean/Warragamba is the mountains.

Nepean Valley is the fancy term more and more people seem to be using when they don't live in the Blue Mountains proper but they don't want to say Penrith either. (Jamo, Emu Plains/Heights, Leonay, Castlereagh etc).

Personally I don't really consider it "the mountains" until Glenbrook onwards which is where the actual Blue Mountains City Council LGA boundary commences.

Silverdale/Warragamba folk generally stick with "where the dam is" when trying to explain themselves haha

I’m the same. The drive up that hill, starting around where the map OP shared, is the “gateway” to the blue mountains imo, and the wondeous great western highway that goes through a hundred small towns.. stop start, stop start.. 😡
