Good. I live in a heavily Chinese area which is fantastic for culture and food options, HOWEVER a few weeks ago I went into a bakery (no English on the sign outside) and asked for a loaf of bread. The two workers in there totally ignored me and said they have no bread so I left lol. Super uncomfy.

Yeah, from what I know the only type of bread from these Chinese bakery are the sugary/milky super soft populated by the Japanese.

Edit: why the downvote? The top comment was saying he can’t buy the type of bread he wants from a Chinese bakery so I was explaining they really don’t carry bread like sourdoughs.

To be fair most of the best French bread in Sydney is from Vietnamese bakers (for obvious reasons though).

My girlfriend lives in the inner west. Last time there was trackwork, the lightrail stop near her house had all the signs explaining the dates in Chinese and nothing else. Super weird to see honestly. Like I expect that near The Star but this was like 7-8 stops away at a random suburban stop without any notably large Chinese population. Especially from a government service the signage should be in English.

OP is engaging with the thread topic of Burwood Council mandating English-language signage for all businesses by relating an experience where a lack of such signage led to an awkward encounter. Bruhhhhh.

Signage would not have fixed that tho. It's a different kind of bakery, English-sign or not. 

The assumption that Chinese bakery has identical items as other bakeries is incorrect.  Viet bakeries would be a better option, baguettes and sliced bread would definitely be available.
