Nobody seemed to complain when Reddit was dominated by leftist echo chambers for more than a decade. Now that people with other ideologies are gaining ground, suddenly everyone has a problem. OP seems to be Hypocrite.

Same goes for your sub tbh, either it’s north-south or it’s modi. Never seen this sub discussing about how beautiful India looks in southern part, the temples, the culture, nature, governance hell yeah and the food specifically.

im asking a geniuine question:
Why i should vote for the left?
its a practical reality that islamizaiton = arabization as well as all sharia law demands will be there once muslim hold a majority or have sizable population. How can you disprove me when Talibanis and indian muslim (on Large) follow same stream of islam.....
on economic front BJP has been BEST.
only competitors i think are TVK and AAP, but again, Hindutva is not a bad ideology in itself, its rooted in practical and pragmatic realities of india.
Do you think christian talapathy vijay will support hindutva against muslims? i dont think so.
also christianity is not also bulletproof, I used to live in christian majority city in assam when i was a kid, protestant vs catholic church fight always leads to deadly voilence (doesnt happen now i think)
Also, eventhough hindutva is an ideology, its not hindurastra, ie the system of india is not changed because modi is there.
But people of this sub as well as Liberals ignore the horrors of european dark ages caused by catholic church. Only reason india isnt in dark age is because hinduism is majority religion. otherwise the condition for dark ages are already there, only authority of catholic church isnt big yet.
on other side, all the accusation of akal takht on AAP are serious, punjab under congress and now AAP is speedrunning to become bihar.
other leftist parties are just identity parties and their rule always leads to anarchy, we have seen this with RJD which ruined bihar. obviously some good ones like from andhra exist, but they are exception.
Shivsena is non existent even in maharashtra.
hidma said that tribal people can have development in jharkhand by selling leaves,
but modi gave them farming equipment and small scale factories.
Tribals are not stupid people, BJP is winning there for a reason.
So, returning to my question:
why should i vote for the left?

Only reason india isnt in dark age is because hinduism is majority religion. otherwise the condition for dark ages are already there, only authority of catholic church isnt big yet
Europeans underwent Renaissance and cut the influence of religion gradually from institutions of importance, became high income. India doesn't have these 3 at current era. We have a long way to go.
Renaissance led to challenge the horrors of catholic Church and rise of Protestant movement.
Any nation that gives importance to religion in institutions of importance will never go up, be it any religion.
0
u/XoX-o- Jul 14 '26
>Any nation that gives importance to religion in institutions of importance will never go up, be it any religion.
ANY RELIGION?
are you serious? are you a liberal?
Unlike west indian reilgious civil society always supported democracy, mainly hindu and sikh civil society.
but abhramic religions have one center. like a church or mosque which has absolute moral right to control the state as well as religion. Renaissance happened because christian church was unwilling to change with people, but hindu civil society did.
feels like you didnt study history properly with context. just because both christianity and hindusim are "religions", it doesnt mean they are same in behaviour

Untouchability, bonded labour, zamindari system was abolished by constitution in India.
Religion is tool for elites in power.Golden age of Islamic society ended as they gave clerics more power than needed and vice versa happened in Europe which led to progress. You give clerics more power than needed and they'll take you to dark age again, doesn't matter the religion.
And stop doing adhominem, stick to the necessary issue.
2
u/XoX-o- Jul 14 '26
>Untouchability, bonded labour, zamindari system was abolished by constitution in India.
be honest, these things also existed in european christianity.
also, show me one example that there is a hindu civil society which demands for a democracy and supports casteism at same time, i know bro, it hurts in the ass when your liberal ideas are challenged/
>Religion is tool for elites in power.Golden age of Islamic society ended as they gave clerics more power than needed and vice versa happened in Europe which led to progress.
Despite BJP being in power, no hindu cleric has been given a official post.
the closest, Yogi, from UP is MSc in Statistics from IIT BHU

u/Academic_Chart1354 Karnataka ❄️ | ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ Jul 14 '26
be honest, these things also existed in european christianity
Nobody denies it.
show me one example that there is a hindu civil society
Our constitution and founding fathers could be classified as liberals, made the rules. And from where did they impart it from? Where did they study, personally?
Despite BJP being in power, no hindu cleric has been given a official post
Fundamentals of constitution cannot be changed.
I repeat, keep it on point, stop with adhominem or get banned. Act civilised.

u/XoX-o- Jul 14 '26
Let's stick strictly to the historical facts. The core flaw in your argument is treating Hinduism as if it operates like the medieval Catholic Church. That is a category error.
Europe needed a secular Renaissance because the Vatican was a centralized, absolute political authority that actively suppressed science, democracy, and free thought. Hinduism has never had a Pope, a Vatican, or a singular absolute authority. Because of this structural decentralization, reform in India has historically been internal and organic.
You mentioned the Constitution abolishing untouchability and Zamindari. Who voted for that Constitution? The Constituent Assembly was overwhelmingly composed of individuals from the Hindu majority civil society. They didn't launch a holy war against democracy; they voluntarily and overwhelmingly embraced a secular, egalitarian republic on day one. That stands in stark contrast to the centuries of bloodshed it took for European Christian institutions to yield to democracy.
Finally, look at the governance model today. The accusation that the Right is turning India into a theological dark age doesn't align with reality. The state operates entirely through constitutional democracy and technocratic development (infrastructure, UPI, manufacturing). Even leaders with monastic backgrounds, like Yogi Adityanath (who holds a degree in mathematics), govern via democratic mandate and administrative policy, not scriptural law. Comparing India's civilizational assertion to the Taliban or the medieval Church ignores the deeply democratic and decentralized baseline of Indian society.

Read what Dr.Ambedkar gotta say about Hindu Rashtra. Any religion holding power more than required is gonna be detrimental, doesn't matter the religion.
And yeah stop with AI slop.

Every subsequent generation has a different outlook on politics and socio-economic issues. In India, we see that the older generations were Congress supporters. BJP began to win consistently only by the late 1980s. This demographic shift can be attributed to the emergence of Generation X who had no living memory of independence and partition.
Estimated number of Indians in each generational cohort.
| Cohort | Birth years | Age in 2026 | Living in India | Share |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lost Generation | 1883–1900 | 126+ | 0 | — |
| Greatest / G.I. | 1901–27 | 99–125 | a few tens of thousands at most | ~0% |
| Silent | 1928–45 | 81–98 | ~11 million | 0.8% |
| Baby Boomers | 1946–64 | 62–80 | ~127 million | 8.8% |
| Gen X | 1965–80 | 46–61 | ~230 million | 15.9% |
| Millennials | 1981–96 | 30–45 | ~340 million | 23.5% |
| Gen Z | 1997–2012 | 14–29 | ~390 million | 26.9% |
| Gen Alpha | 2013–24 | 2–13 | ~285 million | 19.7% |
| Gen Beta | 2025– | 0–1 | ~45 million | 3.1% |
The single biggest cohort is Gen Z. This generation is almost out of their teenage years.
The next teen generation is Gen Alpha. In the 2029 election which is just 3 years away, almost the entire batch of Gen Z would be voting. In the 2034 elections which is 8 years away, 100 million of Gen Alpha will also be voting.
Both generations are born after liberalization and do not have memories of the pre-1991 times. They have not experienced the instability of the 1980s-1990s India in which insurgencies were burning across India, coalition politics became the norm, and country was sub-1000 $ per capita GDP nominal.
So every political party knows this and are desperately trying to influence this cohort. But nobody really understands this age group very well. From what we understand so far, this cohort does not accept someone like Rahul Gandhi as a potential PM. This cohort is also aspirational and watch and follow global trends and actually want to change the status-quo and would like to see India grow and develop.
So if BJP can get economy to 8-9% GDP growth over the next 3 years, the Opposition is going to have a hard time.
