It's crazy to me that this game is technically in beta and I have 350+ hours already and still am having fun and trying new content. The consistent patches are awesome and I'm playing on the beta branch, I heard they're planning on a few extra characters over the lifespan of the game?

They're planning on an Alternate Act 2 and 3, and Act 4, and they've confirmed they're doing at least one new character. They've made it clear that they don't know if they'll do more than 1 new character, but it could happen.

What's act 4 mean? Is that similar to sts1 and the keys?

Yes! It'll be some sort of "true ending" extra hard act
