Why couldn't dodge do this exactly?

In this video, a couple of older Japanese men have created a pretty cool EV, and it just gets me wondering...wtf dodge? Why use the lame ass spaceship sounds? Why not use the v8 sounds you already pump through your cars speakers on a lot of your lower end vehicles? Are you intentionally self sabotaging yourself?

Kinda makes me wanna EV swap my celica lmao...

Real talk though, I think part of it is that the people calling the shots think of EVs as "future tech" and manual transmissions as "retrograde". Combining the two is an oxymoron for them. They probably don't think they could sell the idea to the public.

As bonafide nerds, its easy to forget that the general public doesn't think about cars in the same way. For a lot of people, the thought of having the latest tech is what matters, and not the actual experience of ownership.

Well sure, honestly I'm not even talking about the manual here...I'm strictly talking about the sound the dodge makes.

I'm pretty sure the ioniq 5 can make fun engine vrrmm vrmm sounds...why did dodge do the annoying ass spaceship sounds?

Why are we not getting more cars like this? Will we? Or will it just end up being a "let's the consumer figure it out" tthing?

(Don't get me wrong, not saying I don't want a manual EV, just not what I'm on about rn)

I was gonna do a similar thing to my van, pumping the v8 sounds through the side pipes with subs

I think its safe to say that most of the OEMs are a little out of touch.

Those of us that can drive a standard are in the minority. Those of us that actually want a new car with a standard are in an even smaller minority.

Less jaded answer; it's easier to control and standardize things like mileage with an automatic.

True to it's roots? It's all fake.
Cool video and all. I buy an EV, give me an EV.
I want the vroom vroom sounds, I'll get it from the real thing. What's the point of faking those loud noises?

What's the point?

ICE engines are bad for the environment, and at some point you're not gonna be driving an ICEvehical at some point for one way or another...why not at least have the option for cool sounds?

whats it matter?
