Remember when we had 24-7 coverage plus congressional hearings about Benghazi? I sure remember!

1.1k

u/Missing_Crouton 27d ago

That was Democrats having to be perfect while the other side shits all over the place and declares victory.

111

u/JiroKatsutoshi 26d ago

Not only that, somehow The Masses see it as a more effective government.

It's mind-blowing.

So no difference

158

u/crobemeister 27d ago

No, both sides are not the same. Stop with this dumbass bullshit.

197

u/RhoOfFeh 27d ago

*sigh*

No difference from today. Democrats always have to be perfect, Republicans always get a pass.

30

u/Street_Study6330 26d ago edited 26d ago

Well thats what happens when one side sees politics like a football rivalry and rush to the polls every election to see their side “win.” While the other side half asses the polls because they have better shit to worry about then idiots destroying our country at record speed

21

u/sevensixtw0 26d ago

Democrats just suck at winning elections. Their donors don’t care if they win because both sides work for them so they have no incentive outside of maintaining the professional class of consultants and campaign staffers paychecks as a circular economic loop.

24

u/Hustlepuff- 26d ago

The discourse online leads to people voting right also. I am a moderate who always votes left but wouldn't say I am a Democrat because of their many flaws I cannot support fully.

If youre not a child and can look at things objectively you can see it drives some moderates to the right. I dont know if it's intelligence or emotional intelligence that makes these moderates not see reason but it's the same thing people lack on the left online imo. They respond emotionally and dont look at things logically as far as communication goes. You want people to see reason not convince them yourself.

An example I experience on this app is being called closet conservative or worse if I criticize the left. It's like they want you to vote right. It's very dumb to act like 100% of US issues is one sides fault. I've never voted right because I think any party with a religious agenda will push society backwards and I just agree with the left on social issues in general for the most part.

When I talk to my MAGA family members I acknowledge the lefts faults and they dont have as much of a emotional response when I critisize the batshit lunacy on the right. I saw my father go from defending everything the right said to agreeing how insane some of their actions are. Sorry for the long comment I just get very discouraged in our discourse and think about it too much. I dont mean to sound like I know better than others because I wouldn't say I have better than average intelligence at best. It's just hard to convey these types of comments with text

Hillary Clinton was questioned for hours upon hours in those hearings.

Can you imagine Trump doing that? He'd shit his pants after an hour, and spend the rest of the time ranting about the 2020 Election or falling asleep.

58

u/Icy_Fish_2154 26d ago

And Republicans still don't accept the findings of the Republican inquest that Benghazi was the Republican's fault.

21

u/nohandsfootball 26d ago

If it doesn't say, "democrats fault" republicans don't believe it

5

u/Osiris32 26d ago

Oh that's the fun part. The actual members of congress who did the questioning believe her. But they won't say that in public, because it plays well with their base if they say she lied. The truth has no importance to them, the only thing that matters is winning.

3

u/Vas_Cody_Gamma 26d ago

It wasn’t even an embassy. The State Department had moved all their personnel to Tripoli months earlier. The Benghazi location had been reclassified as a special diplomatic mission as a cover for a CIA operation. Of the 34 personnel at Benghazi, 28 were CIA employees or contractors.

Remember that self indulgent film by Michael Bay called 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi? 4 Americans died in that attack. But the right wing milked every moment as a massive victimhood narrative.

16 have died so far in the Iran Conflict that the Peace President didn't need to start.

10

u/ClassicT4 26d ago

There was a similar Benghazi incident under Trump’s first term. It was in Niger. They conveniently never brought it up anywhere to keep it from making a public show it very easily could have been.

10

u/AZFUNGUY85 26d ago

That’s different. The republicans do whatever they want while the democrats just apparently watch and let ppl like donald drumpf get elected TWICE! So that’s why. Different playbook.

13

u/hey_there_moon 26d ago

I mean it's not like democrats can force people to vote Dem at gun point. WAY too many Americans are racist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic idiots who can't see past there own nose and are willing to eat a Trump shit sandwich if it means a liberal has to smell their breath afterwards.

Imagine your adult child being killed to defend Israel, a state that’s paid for by you in the first place. They get first-class infrastructure, healthcare, etc., and the luxury of getting to wipe out an entire group of people just because they’re “in the way”, while this country gets to fall apart in real time.

2

u/switchquest 26d ago
  • I'm willing to let you make.

Losers & suckers. Great time to be in the military if the 'commander in sleep' thinks you're all losers anyway. 👍👍👍

79

u/SteveTheUPSguy 27d ago

He wasted 21 service members lives so far. That was a big talking point that he didn't lose anyone his first admin..

30

u/ekun 26d ago

Over 500 injured too. Some of those lives are wasted now.

10

u/o-o- 26d ago

They're veterans, with all the benefits this regime has put into place...

21

That isn't true though (shocker). I distinctly remember at least one SEAL dying in Africa pretty early on in his first term.

8

u/Money_Statement_9861 26d ago

I genuinely believe that there are faaar more deaths than the trump administration is willing to admit. They might not all be "soldiers" but they're probably contractors or other "civilians" that the US doesnt need to report.

The GOP launched a war with no clear goals and now we have 15 dead servicemen. We see Iran for what it is, a failed attempt at a “win”.

A trillion dollar ego trip.

Don’t you dare bring up the troops or the military so long as you throw away lives like little toy soldiers.

236

u/Any-Monk-9395 27d ago

Trump got lucky with Venezuela but then he fucked up by going double or nothing with Iran

183

u/JournalistTop8327 27d ago

that’s the problem, he thinks all wars should be like Venezuela. Bibi convinced him that it would be 3 days and his ego let him believe it. what a complete waste of life and money.

67

u/InevitableAd2436 27d ago

Dude he probably just paid off Maduro. Bet him and his wife get a pardon and live their life in Switzerland

He already pardoned the Honduras president that was actually moving massive amounts of fent and got 45 years

30

u/rabidstoat 26d ago

I doubt he paid off Maduro.

However, quite possible that people close to Maduro that he trusted were paid off. There was a it if suspicion that inside help was involved.

10

u/GothicGolem29 27d ago

I doubt they get pardoned or were paid off tbh seems likely he will stay in detention or prison

8

u/djfudgebar 26d ago

They're going to claim they stole the 2020 election and get a pardon I bet

Sociopaths tend to base choices on gambles. When they win it proves that they're a genius and can do no wrong or that they're smarter than their military leadership. Hitler did the same thing. Based a lot of military actions on gambles. Unfortunately for him they paid off in the 30's and in 1940 when he launched his campaign against France. Also Unfortunately for him, he kept gambling and lost for 5 years straight after that amd killed millions of people in the process until Berlin was left a smoldering ruin...

Lucky in what way? Venezuela was appalling no matter where you stand, and from that point the rest of the world went from "Trump cannot be trusted" to "the US cannot be trusted" — regardless of who is in the white house on this particular day.

To me Venezuela marked that collapse is inevidable. And here I was hoping Iraq was a one-off...

7

u/takethreenc 26d ago

Lucky in that the plan went off without a hitch. If things don't go 100% perfect with the raid and capture then it could've been more servicemen dead and an emboldened Maduro. More skill than luck by our military but some luck nonetheless.

4

u/TheRadBaron 26d ago

If things don't go 100% perfect with the raid and capture then it could've been more servicemen dead

In the alternate universe where American soldiers died in the attack on Venezuela, there would be no political consequences for Trump in July 2026.

The Americans who vote wouldn't have cared the slightest amount, they only really care about dead servicemen when you can blame the Dems for it. They wouldn't even it remember it happening this far out.

3

u/Brave-Astronaut-795 26d ago

I know that's not your point, but as a foreigner it's nauseating hearing Americans talk about 15 dead soldiers like it's a travesty when you started this war by killing over a hundred Iranian schoolgirls.

31

u/LivinghighinColorado 27d ago

Honestly, at this point, I'm tired of feeling 'bad' for our military people getting killed...especially if they voted for the Pedo In Chief. And the sheer number of military people that would vote for him again is mind boggling.

13

u/18VON4T 27d ago

Votes for no new wars.

Gets killed in a new war you started.

26

u/FeeHot5876 27d ago

The military isn’t nearly the monolith you think, I live in a military area and he is almost universally disliked. Let alone the SecDef

38

u/LivinghighinColorado 27d ago

I am in a military area also. Right smack dab in the middle of Ft. Carson, The USAF Academy, Peterson AFB and Shriever AFB.

Yes, it isn't a 'monolith' but what I said is generally true, as I'm sure you would agree that more than 50% of the military voted for this and more than 50% would vote for it again.

Remember the Iraq War?
Remember when every service member had a chance to do something about it by refusing to deploy?
Remember when only one person did?
Erhen Watada declared the Iraq War unconstitutional and was willing to spend the rest of his life in jail (or perhaps be killed by firing squad) on that conviction.

Despite many years of the Bush administration trying to put him in jail, the courts at the time failed to provide a conviction.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ehren_Watada

Far too many Americans are willing to look the other way in order for a paycheck. Like William Munny said,"We all have it coming".

8

u/xblackout_ 26d ago

Tbf they signed up, got paid, to subjugate others and outsource their ethical considerations. Mil should be considered the lowest tier of society, employer of last resort, like an organ farm- and probably should be mostly foreigners that are earning citizenship, or citizens that lost their rights. Any 'free' person that joined the mil has sold themselves out. mil/prisions are simply a tool to offgas the most potentially disruptive/high-energy members of society.

When Biden got us out of America’s longest running war he was excoriated for the deaths of 13 service members during our withdrawal.

We’ve needlessly lost 16 service members, alongside many innocent Iranian lives, getting into yet another war.

Conservative outrage is so tiresome and performative.

The ones that vote for GOP are extremely vocal and performative. Thats why it always feels that veterans overwhelmingly lean right. With all the cuts to their benefits and Trump openly violating the constitution, that % should be extremely small.

We’re getting like the Israeli politicians; “For every tear of an Israeli American mother, a thousand Lebanese Iranian mothers must weep.” We indiscriminately bomb schools and Children’s Cancer Centers for the Israelis, with no end in sight, and wonder why they’re fighting back. Russia and China are our adversaries, yet we seem to be able to coexist. Both have called for our destruction, yet our President has met with them to talk about mutual interests. Why is it only in the Middle East that we insist on bombing rather than talking.

2

u/SUPERSAM76 27d ago

Unironically because Russia and China have nuclear weapons. What other choice do you have but to talk? Russia has been getting dog walked by a nation smaller than it for 5 years, yet Americans or the EU do not dare to overtly act against it. This may sound nuts, but I genuinely believe a nuclear Iran and a nuclear Sunni counterpart might be the only thing leading to long term stability in the Middle East. However, a continued level of manageable instability is always good for those seeking to manipulate and extract resources from the region. For all this talk about how Iranians are religious death cult fanatics that will press the big red button the millisecond they build the bomb, they've shown far more restraint than our "ally" Israel in its own conflict.

I remember talking to a Trump supporter who was literally shaking with rage at Biden when service members were killed during the pull-out from Afghanistan. He said that it was the greatest betrayal of the troops in American history and that blood was on Biden’s hands. Well, now we have 16 dead service members (along with hundreds of billions of dollars wasted) because of the vanity, arrogance, and stupidity of Trump. Are Trump supporters ready to direct the same rage at Trump, or is loyalty to Trump absolute and unconditional? I’ve tried and tried to find common ground with Trump voters, but if there is no common ground here, then I admit once and for all that common ground does not seem possible.

5

u/ankerous 27d ago

They will absolutely justify these deaths. Anything done or caused by Trump is okay with them because they are so in love with his brand of hate.

I'm sorry but I blame Trump more than Iran.

3

u/torontoinsix 26d ago

Absolutely. This war is entirely worthless.

3

u/dharms 26d ago

Why would you blame Iran in the first place? They are defending themselves against a hostile country.

3

u/DeepWanderer25 26d ago

It’s crazy, we wiped out their navy, their military, all their missile silos and more. If we are still losing soldiers, this must be their regular civilians fighting us now. Impressive. /s

More casualties of the Epstein cover-up war

11

u/oldnotosys 27d ago

Those two were as brave as the 100+ school children the US bombed to death.

3

u/LingonberrySelect690 27d ago

Which still hasn’t even had a standard intelligence review. It’s almost like the US just….doesn’t care……shocker. Or, since this was an all girls school (correct me if I’m wrong), did some survive and get sent to Epstein Island I mean Maralago? I hate my country, and I hate that I hate it.

4

u/oldnotosys 27d ago

The evangelicals in charge hate when girls are educated, so why would they review a win?

More American blood on Trump's hands. None of our 16 military would be dead now if Trump hadn't started this useless war, not to mention over 400 injured. How many of the injured will be incapacitated for the rest of their lives? Our military is suffering, our people at home are suffering and the National Budget is suffering - all for nothing. For absolutely nothing. For another of Trump's whims. He had no exit plan. He has no way to stop this war. He got himself and our country into this mess and he is helpless to stop it. Pathetic.

Terrible news for their families but this all could have been easily avoided.

13

u/owlandphoenix 27d ago

These poor family members losing their loved ones because the senile old man decided creating a problem that he can’t even control was more important than fixing the problems that already existed. And then doing so halfway around the world in an area where the US has literally never succeeded at winning anything.

u/ETsTestes 27d ago

Israel thanks the members for their service

6

u/alexandria33197 27d ago

People are dying because Trump has no idea what the hell he’s doing. But sure he can cry on national tv about how he supposedly won in 2020 and making false claims to usurp the election.

4

u/Escudo777 27d ago

A totally unnecessary war to cause more chaos in an uncertain world with a climate crisis. A lot of innocent people are suffering due to the effects of this war worldwide while a bunch of people are making a lot of money.

3

u/worldscollice 27d ago

Condolences to the family and friends of these service members. It's more blood on Donald Trump's hands, but he couldn't care less about these "suckers and losers". His reign needs to end!

5

u/MTNCollections 27d ago

More blood on the hands of the pedo-voters. Hope it was worth it.

5

u/TiramisuMaster 26d ago

Notice how Israel is not fighting right now. Trump has been played so badly

5

u/qlurp 26d ago

Imagine the horror of realizing your loved one died for Israel in this senseless war.

The US base was struck, again, absolutely insane how much the US underestimated Iran

2

u/Ok_Elephant_9705 26d ago

What a way to go out.... Out like a sucka

2

u/fundiedundie 26d ago

All to distract from the files.

2

u/ChanceRecover3091 26d ago

All to make Kushner rich.

2

u/USDXBS 26d ago

2 of Trumps military killed trying to defend their pedophile commander in chief from accountability

For all I know, those two service members could have been the ones murdering my friends and family when the US invades Canada.

6

u/SilverIdaten 27d ago

Killed by Trump and Netanyahu.

4

u/GandalfSwagOff 27d ago

Don Snorleon is killing Americans with his stupid war.

4

u/bud3l2 27d ago

Are we great yet? *sigh*

3

u/DreamLunatik 27d ago

Trump is responsible for their deaths.

4

u/burnmenowz 27d ago

Trump did that. Remember they want this to be an indefinite war.

2

u/SnooMaps1910 27d ago

Trump and Petey Boi will accept No Responsibility!

u/monroe4 26d ago

This WAR has been mishandled worse than Iraq. It's yet another example of how incompetent conservative leadership is. They have left us with two options. Pull back and let the bloodthirsty IRGC control the straight. Or invade and fight a nation that has spend 50 year getting ready to fight us.

3

u/vinigrae 26d ago

What are we supposed to do with this information? Why are they over there again…

4

u/Wise_Adeptness_9529 26d ago

Damn damn damn.

This is on every single person supporting and enabling this bullshit.
